- Flying a seaplane is absolutely amazing. I'm not sure how else to describe this video... If you have the opportunity to fly a seaplane, do it. It's awesome!

Josh, I started watching this one on my phone but had to stop watching immediately. This one deserves the Big Screen! Sarah is a great flight instructor, enjoyed the video!
Definitely a big screen video, SteveO!
Love your channel also!!! GO TBM!!!
Did the same
Yup
Alaskaaaaa!
Wow, Sarah is so laid back and easy. What a great teaching style.
I love women who are easy.
That is a great teaching style.
I must say what a joy to have Sarah as your instructor. Her teaching style is straiight forward coincise and very calm and relaxed. Nothing worse than adding tension to an already stressful first time landing on water. Sarah does a really awesome job.
I didn't really have a desire to get my seaplane rating until watching this. WOW!
"moose going for a swim with Denali in the background. I needed just a minute to let that sink in."
Yeah, my friend. I feel you. Alaska is a powerful energy.
I loved Sarah's teaching style! She is a real pro.
I was shocked when she whacked Josh in the temple with that fish cleaning board... Oh.. just me getting the unedited version?.
My USAF jet instructor son and I watched it together. Almost simultaneously we said the same thing: this girl is a great instructor.
Sarah has that slow, smooth, calm, southern drawl voice down pat. She appears to be a wonderful & very skillful flight instructor. Good landing bud! A mighty fine landing young man!!! The scenery is beautiful, dangerous but beautiful....... Overall a good job Josh!! The rule I was taught is any landing you walk away from is a good landing!!!
Moose lookin' back at Josh like, "Yeah, Sarah brings all her students out here. How's your training goin' bro? Alright, have a good one. Watch out for that glossy water."
I can hear the moose in my head with an accent.
This is exactly why there is no need for cable tv. When there is such high quality content online. Subbed. Can’t wait to watch the whole Alaska playlist. Fantastic job. Of course the drone footage was great as well! 👍🏼
100% agree. The content is addicting. It is so good i am flying vicariously.
Sarah has a very calming demeanor while still displaying how intelligent and confident she is. She appears to be an amazingly talented aviator who is truly gifted in her ability to inspire learning while imparting knowledge and wisdom. Thanks for sharing a very informative and scenic flight.
As so many comments say……Sarah is so easy-going as a flight instructor. I love her personality. I would love to fly with her. Thanks for sharing.
That confined approach to landing basically just sold me on float plane flying. Soooooooooo dope!
I have to agree with Steveo ... started watching it on my phone. Stopped, then went to stick it on the big screen. Awesome cinematography.
Sarah was super chill. Very calming. When the moose came out, I could only imagine you shouting "Aaaaaaand, cue the moose!". Another great addition to the series Josh. I recently started rewatching from episode 1 with my partner. She has been gobsmacked. Thank you for bringing us along with you. I don't think I've been this emotional and inspired watching CZcams content.
Or do you "queue" the moose? ... Get that bloody moose!
Love how you’re so okay showing everything. The good landing as well as bad ones. Love your channel
I never had a flight instructor like that! I did have a pretty one, who constantly ran her hand up my leg after each landing, telling me to imagine the runway center line right on my leg. LOL! But Sarah here,... wow! :) A flying angel. Makes me want to get back into flying. Awesome vid!
Love your videos/podcast/travelcast: combination of valuable flying information in the most magnificent settings. Very well done, Josh.
Sarah I enjoyed your soft,.. kindhearted but firm,..... way of teaching,.. instructing,.. The last time I solo was 22 years ago but after putting 3 kids thru college business running low on cash I stoped flying,.... but I just think you are a grand teacher
Sarah is an incredible instructor, loved this episode so much.
That shot in the intro where the plane is turning on the water and the ripples are spiralling out looks amazing.
Epic! Loved the scenery, loved the training.. Sarah is a great instructor. Can't wait to watch Part 10 of your epic adventure!
Outstanding video. One could fall asleep w/ Miss Sarah's voice. She's awesome. Thank you for sharing
Just watched this on the TV at home.... the scenery is amazing!
I loved every minute of this. Look forward to seeing the next session with Sarah!
BEAUTIFUL! Awesome experience. And the moose! My spirit animal. Keep up the great work.
Sarah was an amazing instructor. Very calm and tactical! Great video!
Wow! wonderful!
She has such a calmness to her instructions!
Definitely my favourite video so far out of what has been an amazing series! There's just something about seaplanes, I think doing something like this should be on every pilot's bucket list, I know it's on mine and I'm not even a pilot. :)
Awesome!
What a competent and talented CFI Sarah is!
Josh, this series knocks it out of the park. Thank you for the great videos, especially this Alaska series.
The Awesomeness of this series just keeps getting better. The Moose was just like you said, it was spiritual, just an awesome combination of goodness!
Those drone shots of the plane cruising through the lake are spectacular!
What an Awesome video Josh! From the drone watching you take off to the moose, such a joy to watch!!! And what a instructor! Dude Sarah made me feel I could land the plane!!! I see sea wings in the future!!! Keep them coming!!!
Caught myself hold my breath on that confined take off. That is so awesome!
Thanks Josh, for the great and beautiful video. What awesome scenery in Alaska.
This is a great series, Thank you for taking us along with you. The camera angles over pointing downward underneath the hull are especially breathtaking when you have such a glossy water. The moose was just amazing. Keep up the great work!
Absolutely stunning footage and instruction. Fantastic CFI to boot!!
Just absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, and such a fantastic job by the instructor. What an experience with the moose, just a pure sense of wonder there. AND great music!
I keep coming back to this one. What a breathtaking place to fly.
Something tells me Sarah is booked out for a few years now 😂
A plug from Aviation101...... yeah, she’ll have students for a while, no doubt. For those of us who are looking for someone laid back who just has that natural feel of it...... if I won the lottery, I’d be looking for a trip to Alaska to visit my cousin and get float training at the same time.
@@scotrule6128 what does that mean? Is she pregnant?
Faith Ervin pretty sure it was a joke I’d hope.
SuperRook Does she have a CZcams channel?
@PorssiMies TPWSFIPML
The world needs more female aviators like Sarah. Love the BBQ runs, but this Alaska series has been absolutely fantastic. Really, really, really enjoying it. Thanks to you and AoA for sharing something many (most) of us will never experience.
Why point out that she's female? I don't see the pertinence.
Awesome video Josh. Sarah is an incredible instructor. So calm and patient.
Great to see an instructor with years of confidence. No hesitation in her education as well as great knowledge of the airframe. Great job!
Your last two videos are my favorites. Sarah was such an awesome instructor. She seems laid back and calm, but if you watch her observations she is in complete control of the situation in case of any surprises. Great scenery and I love the low approaches where you snake in through the terrain to set up for landings. Amazing!
Great video Josh!!! The drone footage, the commentary and the visual... omg! Killed it brother!
This is fascinating. I grew up in Anchorage, but never learned to fly. But I loved watching the planes at Lake Hood. And Sarah's explanation of why some float planes have a ventral fin was really interesting. This whole series is really fantastic.
Josh, I sure am enjoying this series...always looking forward to the next episode. Appreciate all your hard work in putting these videos together for us. Stay safe and take care
you nailed it man! everything is beautiful, the scenery, the float plane, the videography and most the instructor.
I had to replay the first 5 minutes over and over again. 😂. As great as the terrain videos were the cockpit shots were my favorite. 🙃
Great job and video. This brought back fond memories of my float training for my rating. Now you need some wind so you can do some back sailing.
Sarah's a great instructor, keeps you relaxed.
Has to be one of the best ones yet! Sarah is a great instructor. The puzzle ring on her left hand is cool. I have one just like it that I've had for probably 40 years. Thanks for sharing this experience.
Awesone video. Sarah was great at instructing. I always wanted to fly a floatplane, this was the next best thing.
Loved the Moose! What an amazing adventure! Thanks for sharing!
Sarah is an excellent instructor pilot. Excellent video. thanks.
I been flying to Alaska for more than 20 years, I never enjoyed. This awesome scenery like with this videos. Thanks for sharing
Best video you have made...I felt like I was learning right there with you! Great instructing Sarah! God is Alaska ever beautiful! Great video Josh. Thank you Rob Montreal Canada.
"Top-notch flight instructors like Sarah who love what they do,"
Is there anyone who does this kinda flying, with breathtaking scenery as far as the eye, who doesn't love what they do?
Thanks for another great video. I'm already subscribed
Wonderful presentation. Great from all angles of production. Thanks for the video. Yes, it is a BIG SCREEN presentation.
Wow!! What BEAUTIFUL scenery!!
I was just thinking... this couldn't get any better after the landing and watching the stunning view, then the moose stepped out... awesome!
Beautiful - all of it. Even Bullwinkle showed up!
I loved Sarah. she is amazing. Really so good, every explication clear and sharp. Thanks you for this show!
I wish my CFI back then had a calm and confident voice like Sarah. She's amazing, thanks for sharing.
I just got my sea plane add on in a j3 on floats last month. Probably, the most fun thing you can do in aviation.
Went to Alaska (including Talkeetna) in the summer of 2019 for the drive of my life. 12,651 round-trip miles from Michigan and this video wants me to head back as soon as I can. Didn't do any sea plane excursions but will definitely do so next time I visit.
Great video, footage and storytelling is phenomenal! Thanks for this work and safe flying!
Love the fantastic video. Love Sarah. Love hearing her talk and how she shares her expertise of seaplanes. Would love to have her for an instructor. Wow! What a unforgettable journey you’re on. Thanks for sharing.
I'm always amazed how cool, calm, and relaxed instructors are.
They know a thing or two because they've seen a thing or two.
I have followed you on CZcams for a while and always love your videos, but man, this might be the best aviation video I have ever seen. Really loved it! As a pilot from the Midwest the terrain up in Alaska is something that looks breathtaking on camera, I could not even imagine in real life. I think Sarah needs her own CZcams channel! Awesome video!
Have to say I'm jealous! Gorgeous scenery and great instruction. Really enjoying these Alaska adventures.
Everytime I watch your videos, it always reminds me of why I love flying!
I have watched a lot of your videos and this one is one of the best. Great location great photography and excellent editing.
I won’t repeat the other amazing comments, or bother talking about how amazing this series is and yes, it’s amazing ! What loved about this one was realizing that pilots have to change a bit of thinking and logic, when learning this side of aviation. We are so programmed, that when we try to deviate, it’s not natural. An instructor like Sarah makes it easy. And in this adventure, it’s the amazing people that make it so special. Another big thank you to everyone who make this possible ! 🇺🇸🛫
I've watched every video in this series so far. Top notch stuff. Thanks!
All your Alaska videos are awesome deserving to be shown on a big screen this one could be used as a training video. Sara is an awesome lay back instructor. Safe travels.
Wow a bull Moose just walking out like that right at the spot you landed. That is amazing.
Agreed, I’m watching this one at home! That was gorgeous! She (Sarah) reminded me of you in some ways...her demeanor is relaxed, confident and grounded(no pun intended). For any issue or question posed, she had the answer. In my opinion, marks of a great teacher no matter the profession. The mark you two will leave on aviation will be substantial to so many. I include others in that statement as well...Stevo1kinevo, Baron Pilot etc....Thank you for sharing and teaching. I hope you keep that passion for a lifetime. Well done!!
Wow that moose was incredible not to mention everything else. I wish I could have just rode in the back seat. I am going to go there when I go back to alaska to watch as I cant fly but just to take it in is a true gift. Thank you Josh for bringing such beauty to the rest of us. Thanks to your instructor with that calm mellow voice I bet makes it so easy to learn as well. Just a huge thank you.
This series of vids is awesome, thank you very much for sharing.
Amazing flying, amazing scenery, amazing editing, amazing couple...
Great video! Lets see beautiful scenery....check; beautiful weather....check; beautiful plane....check; beautiful instructor....double check!
I took a seaplane flight out of Anchorage in a Piper a couple years ago. What an awesome experience.
Another excellent video! Sarah really knows her craft.
Outstanding video. The moose was a bonus. The flight instructor was extremely knowledgable and encouraging with her points. One of your best. Keep up the good work. I look forward to the next installment and your return for the next lesson.
There’s something so sexy about this one, and I’m talking about the plane and the take off. The perfect mix of seamanship and piloting....... this is something I could so easily become addicted to. Just, wow...... I’m right down the road from Moraine Air Park which is known as THE inland seaplane stop............ and I never thought twice about it.......
And now...... why, oh why do I want to be on floats..... dang.......
Josh, please keep this up. You have a gift. I just introduced your channel to one of my wingmen who specializes on aerial photography, and he was stunned.
I've been waiting for this one Josh; I flew floatpanes for years in the oilfields of south Louisiana. It's a little different having to tie up and dock to tugboats and mud barges, especially the high ones (higher than your wing, crosswind docking). Remember, there are two (2) kinds of floatplane pilots and passengers in floatplanes; those who have been in the water and those who are going to go into the water. Just remember rule #1; never let go of the rope.
Now she is one great instructor. Very calm and controlled. And you picked up the technique quickly. Well done!
Josh, every time I think your videos can't get any better, then I see this one. Sarah was outstanding. It was a pleasure to hear her insights and knowledge of float plane flying. You couldn't have picked a better person to learn with. Chris Palmer is great in the land plane but Sarah is who I'd want to fly with on water. The moose scene with Denali …..you and Sarah truly shared a Zen moment as fellow pilots on a perfect day. How rare is that in this world......
I am so sorry that CZcams just has one thumbs up button. If there were 100, I definitively would press them all for this stunning video. Thanks so much!
as always I jump on the chance to
watch your videos. Your still the master at filming.
Superb video! Sarah is a dynamite float plane instructor, with a very competent student.
This is a great video and the moose sighting was awesome. Thanks Sarah for getting to the right place at the right time!
This is so cool. I am 12 years old and everything you post inspires me even more to go venture out and fly!✈️
Me to and I'm 51... keep studying and do well as you can in school, all this kind of thing costs money...and keep your dreams
Great video! And Texas does have some good seaplane landing areas!! The hook has been set so maybe your 172 can have amphib floats added!!
Great flight instructor with a steady stream of timely information without unnecessary distraction. Your a lucky guy to be her student.
Absolutely amazing! Looks like the perfect place to get seaplane rated!
Sarah is an awesome instructor. Very calm. I wish she was in Tennessee. We have so many HUGE lakes around here. Would love to have lessons from her. Maybe if I make it to Alaska some day. Thanks for the flight Josh!!!
Tennessee Wood Signs big difference, the lakes in Alaska are not man-made. Like your football team. Not made of men 😂😂🤣good ole rockybottom!
She has such a relaxed way of talking. I think she was born to be a pilot.
Not Even Wrong ummm nope. the vocal fry is grating like nails on a chalkboard.
thats because she was super excited and had many emotions of love and a future with mr flowers himself. He's so dreamy and yummy.
Great video. Super calm and knowledgeable Sarah... and your video partner on the other aircraft did a great job too. Thanks for encouraging me to get a new rating.
I've watched this a couple times. Love seeing that beautiful old Pacer.
Perfect video man. Thank you from Turkey.
