I guess you mean how amazingly perfect the 911 was designed from the beginning.. In case you missed it, the 911 has more LeMans winnings then all Ferraris and Fords put together. Hell, I think you can even add more big name brands and it will still be way under their official confirmed victories for a single model car ever recorded. So yeah, that antique shape.. lol.
Check out the 904, 908, and 910 cars. Ford has been ripping off like Musk for decades

One thing I still can remember vividly is the sound of the Porsche RSRs. One of the best sounds I ever heard; a high pitched metallic sound that was a nice contrast to the deeper V6 and V8s. The Ford in comparison sounded like a dogfart.

he was moving because he didn't want the ford to have the advantage of drafting. Porsche is the better/faster car.

The Porsche is....well an inferior engineering design from pre war criminals of the third Reich. The rules favored RSR this year. Your hate and ignorance is self evident. If you are capable do some research on the restrictions bestowed on the GT and Corvette vs the Porsche, BMW and Ferrari.
This is not to take anything away from Porsche. To win this race is an accomplishment. Their record speaks for itself. Despite the restrictions on the GT the fastest GT had suspension issues from an incident with the Bavarian hordes. ALL the cars competing in this class are at the best representative of each manufacturer. If you do not like the GT so be it. To make such an ignorant statement is infantile, idiotic and ignorant.

Except when you consider the LMP1 class. Absolutely horrendously boring. At the moment of writing this, Toyota #8 has an entire lap on #7, and *10 laps* on the closest Rebellion. Really hope Audi and Porsche can make this interesting again in the future, because 10 laps shouldn't be the split from 1st to 3rd. Not even a 24 hour race.
Yeah only the GTE Pro. When you look at LMP1, then the F1 is a lot more exiciting. 2 Toyotas leading by 12 laps is just horrendous.
LMP1 is only boring because their no Audi, Porsche or Peugeot to fight Toyota.

Defending is when you are ahead and you defend the the position by covering the preferred line.....maybe you should learn the difference between the two

it's called bop.....they had a favored bop then caught the safety car just right to further the lead. At least now(2023) that BS won't happen and the race won't be won by a lucky safety car catch.

As I saw them passing each other again and again, they looked like Icks on the GT40 and Herrmann on the Porsche 908 LH in their final battle till the end of LM '69. But hopefully, this time, Porsche prevailed!

That was pure racing, on the limit. Not dirty at all. Besides that, isn't it what we all want, people? I'm fed up with all those "politically" correct driving maneuvres and drivers crying on the radio ( especially in F1). That was on the limit, Mako left just enough space and for me it was fine

theissen thomas Couldn't agree to you more. The Porsche team themselves knew it wasn't right, so they had an awkward and quiet interview afterwards in the pits, though I respect them by not strongly denying that everything was fair and right like possibly any team representative would do.

Old battles, but sain and epic fights between these two great brands of motor racing since the last century! Who had forgot car masterpieces like the Ford´s GT40 and Porsche´s 917? These GT fights, Ford/Porsche, nowadays, save the entire Endurance races because in the front, there is few chenges since the start, sauf incidents or accidents or till more rare,engines problems.
Watching trackside was epic, the GTE pro class was very well subscribed back then .
The Porsche shop at the village behind the pits had Rothmans style and pink pig style T shirts, I chose the Rothmans ,think it was 20 euros.

Ford got hit with more BoP. I think ford got 20 more kg and altered boost(less acceleration but better top speed) witch hit it pretty hard. In practice if I remember well ford had 4 cars in top 5.

I'm looking for the next design of the Ford GT to be even sharper than the one now and with a little more power something like 800hp but planning for the balance of performance would be the issue

Well, we have Le Mans Classic if I remember correctly. And putting those classic cars along modern ones will not be so safe because stuff unfortunately happens and you don't quite wanna lose those classics. Even tho stuff can happen at LMC but I want to think the drivers are a lot more careful with the old ones and also it's more of a throwback event, a race where you show off the cars more than race, than a race in a championship where you are really competitive and you give everything for a win no matter what

John Cleek best drivers on the team and Kevin Estre, that guy is one heck of a pilot, not taking credit from the other drivers, everyone did a great job including Ford drivers, that battle was on edge

bourdais trying to shove it down a closing door? The porsche also had to vacate the line he was on to give room to a lapping lmp car, you know blue flag and that.
Granted the weaving earlier on was a little poor but none the less this was not dirty or verstappen like in any form.

BoP was a joke in this race. The Porsches were so sloppy and yet so much faster. Just like how BoP in 2016 put Ford and Ferrari in thier own class from everyone else.

I can recommend bying a (camping) ticket for the Beauséjour area! Crazy parties and at close proximity to the Porche curves, with free entrance to the 'grand stand' right next to it!
Martin Kirkeby sounds like the experience of a lifetime. Ok I just decided, I’m GOING to 2020 24hrs of Le Mans. That’s plenty of time to get things in order to attend the event 💪🏽
Yup Yup i went by myself and set my tent next to the track at the Beausejour camping spot. Mistakenly I bought the ticket to camp there but you will not need any ticket to camp anywhere there unless you pull your car in at any of the camping spots
You will see a lot of people having bbq and drinking over at the camping grounds.
When you are there you HAVE to get a map so you know where are the viewpoints. There are buses that will take you to the viewpoints and run until 1 am. At night I suggest you go to the ferry wheel and climb. For me it was very exciting to see part of the track from the very top.
Try to stay awake until sunrise and get in the ferry wheel again.!
