- The Vancouver Canucks beat the Nashville Predators in game 6 after Pius Suter and Brock Boeser linked up, and now they will move to face the Edmonton Oilers in round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs! Hard fought series, Juuse Saros was great, but the Canucks prevail!

Oh yeah and about my petey remark i think he does need to get used to playing a lot of games in quick succession since normally he is very good once he has rest so as im sure you could see he was getting better or the last couple games and he has had less ice time so i think they are resting him more but keeping him in the lineup anyways im done yapping now lmao

I think the Canucks match up better against the Oilers than they did the Predators.
The Oilers have no where near the smothering defensive, forechecking, shot blocking, nightmare.
The Canucks can't get into a shoot out. But, if they continue to play team defense and have an easier time to get shots on net, they have a good chance.
I agree with this 100%. I also think Pettersson will be a much more effective player in this round. I like our chances a lot.

The Canucks struggling to score against the Predators doesn't mean it's guaranteed they'll struggle against the Oilers too. Either way, if my Canucks can't get past the Oilers, I'm rooting for them all the way. I need to see McDavid win the cup.

The Canucks beat a team who were one of the best teams after the All-star break & had a top 2 powerplay during that time. Without their number 1 goaltender in Demko, with their arguably best player in Pettersson struggling to find his game, mustering an NHL record 2nd least shots registered in a playoff series and doing it with their backup as well as their 3rd string goaltender.

Preds were an amazing first round team to face. They could have stolen the series but Canucks prevailed and we move on to Oilers. Hopefully we continue to dominate them like we did in the season but as we know from Jet and Avs, regular season means nothing. Hopefully we keep starting Silovs even after DeSmith recovers as he’s on a hot run until Demko can come back. Go Canucks Go!

So Canucks back up back up goalie shuts down preds in a do or die game. That has got be be a tough way to lose or at least demonstrates the depth of Canucks in net. Playoffs are a different creature. The scouting for Canucks are smiling right now.
This is the Second time Nashville lost to a team that mustered 12 shots on goal in the playoffs (They Lost 5-3 in Game 1 of the 2017 Stanley cup Finals to Pittsburg when they mustered 12 shots) and they lost to 3rd string Goaltender. But this Series could of Easily Swung Nashvilles way. if it was not for The Canucks Defence and Goaltending.
Man the last 30 seconds of that game was sooo stressful! So glad the boys were able to hold on and win the series

That was a tight series for sure. Some will look at the low scoring and shot totals and claim underperformance, but that’s wrong.

Plenty of prick moves carried out by the Predators in this series.The biggest was hitting Desmith outside the crease.

For all doubters and haters saying Nash sucks and Van couldn't score.. the lack of knowledge and understanding in regards to the complexity of the game and how insanely tight, disciplined and structured Preds vs. Van was is crazy! I don't expect the younger folk to see it and excitement is prolly all about goals for u guys but the forechecking, passing lane blocks, shooting lane blocks and phenomenal goalies are overlooked aspects of the game when you just look at the boxscore. Hope to humble some of you Oilers real soon 🎉

Let’s admit that Nashville is only a 1 line team, but because of great coaching they’re very hard working. No matter what happens in the 2nd round, I’m very proud of this Canucks team.
Preds are not a 1 line team they had 11 goal scorers in the series, Canucks had 6

honestly nashville was scary. After game 1 and seeing how many blocked shots they took, i thought they were gonna give us a real hard time. Tbh this series could've went in their favour. We got lucky.

Edmonton is a great team but I think there's plenty to like about the matchup for Vancouver fans. If nothing else they get to approach the series with almost no pressure and plenty of confidence given how the season went. Oilers have really elevated their game though so this should be a beauty of a series.
I think that although it’ll be tougher, we still know how to beat them as shown in the regular season. we also won’t have to deal with 30+ blocked shots either which is nice

Man oh man, they certainly proven that they worked extremely hard under Tocchet's system to make things work between each other. The difference in a lot of players' techniques, skill sets, and hockey sense is night and day.

The Canucks test would be if they could make a deep run, winning a round wasn't really much of a question. Nashville was weak as hell and were carried by Saros. Now we need to see if they can go deep, that's their true test.
Honestly i was happy they made it in it was a Treat to see the Nucks in the Playoffs. Making it to the 2nd round exceeded my Expectations even further. But Nashville was no Pushover in the Last half of the Season and there was many times They could of Run away with the Series Thankfully our Goaltending Depth and Defence came out with there A game. Now if only we can get Petterson to get some production.

That was the most stressful game ive seen in a long time.
Even teams that have the most talent, are coached well in scoring goal, and preventing goal plays, and all the players play with grit and determination. (give it their very best) There are still the laws of chance, all the unlucky bounces went against them, and all the lucky bounces went for the other team etc. Then there are just the two team style of play matches, where one team usually wins. (i.e. Canucks vs Oilers) Then there are situations like the 1993 Montreal series, where they just squeaked into the playoffs, and weren't expected to go far, and then set NHL records for "the most come from behind wins", "the most OT games in a PO series", where they won every OT game. (9, I believe) An extraordinary string of luck can't be ruled out.
But the way that the NHL has structured the divisions, and the PO matches, does not favour a Canadian team reaching the finals, the way that the conferences and divisions are structured and matched. And apart from all that I still believe that the "best two teams in the league" are not always the ones playing in the final SC series.

If they want to beat the Oilers and McJesus and Drisitle in round 2 they need to have more than 20 shots per game average in round 1 and Pettersson needs to wake up. I am going to Say Vancouver in 7 Simply because Vancouver has better Goaltending Depth and Defence. The thing that Helped Edmonton big time against the Kings was there Powerplay and Special teams plus Skinner is a massive Coin toss. He has had moments he Stole a game for the Oilers but he had a moment in which he cost the Game for them. I think when the Canucks face the Avs or Stars they are going to have a really hard time the Stars are bit more Ideal as the Canucks and Stars are pretty much evenly matched play style wise.
