Claude is 9th all-time in playoff goals with 80. Conn Smythe winner, 4 Stanley Cups and he was huge in all 4 of them. He most definitely should be a HOFer.
Don't forget to mention he always targeted smaller players, if there was biggest coward award for the nhl he would win it
@@jasonmartin1806 Lol.
Are there a lot of guys in the hall of fame with zero all star appearances?
@@MrOctober44 all star? Who cares about the regular season? Claude was all about the playoffs when it matters most. Conn Smythe, 4 chips, he was a winner. Clutch. Should be a HOFer.
@@rebeltvr6046 The Hall of Fame clearly cares since he's not in it, lol.
Claude will always be loved in New Jersey .
So true… Bruce and Claude are lovers❤️
19 game winning Stanley Cup playoffs goals 4 Stanley cup and 1 Conn Smyth and the 4Ps: Perfect Prototypical Playoffs Player
As a Wings fan, you can’t dislike Claude after this interview (sadly), he’s a genuine great guy.
"a gars d'chez nous ", I like it when Nilan throws in some french words and expressions. I like it how he embraced Quebec and its people with such love.
Man, I was never a Claude fan back in the day. I listen to this podcast and don’t know what I was thinking. I’m a big fan now and now understand the “role” both Claude, and Chris, played on teams.
What an eye opener, so happy to see Claude in this light.I have been blind.
Claude always brought it on when it mattered most. He is amongst my all-time favorites.
I also like turtles
@@zekearmstrong3342 If I
Chris I'm so glad you have your own show where you decide what's what. Loving it!
In my opinion Claude is one of the best hockey players ever. As a Leafs fan I hated the guy but his numbers and success can’t be ignored. 4 Stanley Cups with 3 different teams. The guy is a born winner. He knew how to win. So much respect for him
That 85/86 Whaler team was my all time favorite. It still breaks my heart Great interview.
Chris I really enjoy listening to all the inside stories. What a ride in 1986 thanks for the great memories.
I always love watching Claude ..how he played.. gritty with heart.. great team leader.. 4 Stanley cups.. should be in the hockey Hall off frame
I remember Claude Lemieux with Momesso and another big guys of the Canadien going to the net... I was in first row... They where really big and scary... great players... Lemieux was talented and strong...
Respect Claude...of course HOF...great interview thanks!
This is hands down one of the best interviews I have ever seen.; Very insightful. It reveals the skill, intelligence, honesty and credibility of Claude Lemieux like I never thought existed. Wonderful -
a whole other side to the man.
Thank you much appreciated
I have a new perspective of Claude after this podcast. Great Great Cast!
What a great interview! Claude comes across as such a good guy, cool and confident. No wonder he was in my opinion the greatest clutch player of all times. Luv to see that mutual respect between Claude and Knucks.
Totally agree! He performed when it mattered
Claude is a tank. And a winner. This is a man’ conversation! Loved it !!
Two self-delusional idiots who, to this day, RUN from what they did and will NEVER admit to it. Nilan can't face reality so it's easier for him to say he "doesn't care". Claude NEVER ADMITS to turtling OR being a total COWARD, so he goes around denying what he did, despite the fact that EVERYONE KNOWS what he did. Incredible.
Everything don cherry said about him was true.
Are you a canadian sasqhemwash.
Well done Chris! So glad you’re doing well with an awesome podcast.
Claude is a well spoken outstanding classy Canadian hockey player. HOF ✅
** Gem** … thanks Chris.. Nice job!
Pepe is pure character .. love him or hate him, everyone respected his body of work and what he brought to the table..
once upon a time when Hockey was a man’s game , Pepe brought passion & character to the game .. A superior competitor!
This interview brings back great memories & great times!!!
Chris, thank you for giving hockey fans an inside look at some of the greats of the game! This is a unique perspective on Claude Lemieux that I have not heard on any other show. Great interview and show!
Oh man I love this pod cast, Chris and Claude are so great to listen too about their time in Montreal and in the nhl , almost brought me to tears, keep it up Chris Nilan your wonderful at pulling out stories and how things were in the real hockey era, simply the best podcast
this is a gem!!!!! for real hockey fans
Love these interviews Chris. Learned so much about Lemaire as coach. Please get Larry Big Bird Robinson on. Thanks
Agrée: Robinson would make for a great interview!
@@FEBEAULIEU After bobby Orr; the best Defenceman in NHL history , opinion = mine
Pretty sure Larry didn't have much respect for Nilan, so I doubt he'll be seen here.
What are you talking about Robinson didn’t like nilan??? He got him on a podcast interview so so much for your theory
Chris thanks for having Claude Lemieux on nice to see Claude again stirs up good memories. kudos
i watched a replay of the 1989 cup finals against Calgary and Lemieux cross checked Mike Vernon in the face and no call. Man the reffing was different back then
Great job Knuckles. Your a great interviewer, you know when too talk and you know when too listen......seriously great job!!!!
Great episode. I wasn't expecting to watch all of it but the stories and insights totally hooked me.
Knuckles laughing when they said noone got a penalty is too funny
Claude Lemieux is my all time favorite NHL player. One of the only ones i liked even when he left Montreal.
Same.
I called in sick the night of the Detroit brawl so that I could watch the replay that early morning. Best. Game. Ever.
Claude was one of my favorite bosses I’ve ever had. I worked for the roadrunners when he owned them and started his comeback. He used to skate with us employees before moving to play against his ECHl players and man oh man he still had it hardcore.
One of my all time favorite players, idgaf if anyone calls him bad names, he was incredible in the playoffs where it mattered.
The man should be in the hall, if Neely and Lindros are there, it’s embarrassing the old boys club won’t induct a player who actually won
GREAT INTERVIEW! The misfortune of some making the happiness of others, the privilege that I had, as a Sherbrooke resident, to see Claude and the whole cohort play, including Richer, Gingras and Boisvert. What a great team! So many players who marked us!
Thank you very much for all the great history, love it, always a fan! Merci!
19 game winning goals in the Stanley Cup playoff. That literally sounds like the career of five players amazing.
Thanks Chris the same to Claude, ☺️ Tons of respect for you guys and the memories,❤️
I just discovered this podcast through this episode. I always been a huge fan of Chris Nilan.
Very interesting, lots of details, passion for the game and warmth fit the guest. Excellent interview, I will Watch all others
The podcast is wonderful. I enjoy how you start from the beginning with your discussions Chris. Each episode I learn so much of the small nuances of the past eras and the player, which I didn’t know back then, and I was an very knowledgeable fan of the game from the 70s, 80s and 90s, most especially.
Wonderful discussions. 👍
Played ice for 12 yrs growing up in AZ, my dad sold claude a pool when he played for the yotes. Got to go to his house for a couple hours and he gave me 4 of his sticks. 1 signed. Good guy all around
Great 👍 video 👍 Knuckles, your the man,and Great 👍 seeing Claude . He was a good one . 👍
Hell, after watching this, I'd put both of you in the Hall of Fame. For me, as a fan who's been watching since the late sixties, this certainly brings back a lot of fond memories and adds a lot of perspective. Thanks for that. Keep it up!
Knuckles so happy for your podcast and to subscribe. This was a great one, love the stories with Claude. I'm a BIG Habs fan and loved to watch the team and players as a young kid with dad. Keep up the great podcast. Can't wait to see and hear more stories. Rick from Ottawa.
Those podcasts should be must for all hockey rookies. Great job Chris.
Claude quite cerebral ...smart guy 👦
Excellent… pure authenticity
Another great show, thanks.
Awesome interview!
Brilliant interview Chris
C'mon, we ALL know why Claude isn't in the HOF, and it rhymes with "Rotty Roman." -- meowmeowmeow!
Love those ex Habs interviews! Claude is very well spoken, and very humble.
Claude is an absolute legend. The Boston and Montreal rivalry in the 60's and 70's were some of the best hockey years ever. Not so shabby yourself Nilan.
These podcasts are terrific growing up a Bruins fan never liked Montreal. Watching these podcasts with the different Montreal players these guys like Larry Robinson and Claude lemieux they’re really classy people. I’m glad I started watching Chris Nilan podcasts. Great !
yes as a B's fan myself, I hated the Habs, but nice to see claude in this interview, seems to be a classy guy.
This was excellent
Another great podcast !!
Great in Depth Podcast!
Peeing on my the rocks … that’s
priceless 😂
Instead of knuckles your nickname should have been HEART AND SOUL because no one ever played with more than you.
Great interview. New found respect and admiration for Claude.
Claude always came out to play especially during the playoffs he was a machine
What a great interview with the best clutch player Canadians ever had.
One of the top 10 most clutch players in NHL history actually.
First listen.. Great interview.. what a great guy! Big fan of you both!
Liked and subbed Chris👍
Love your podcasts, so great to see Claude and hear him speak about Larry Robinson, any chance he'll be coming on??
that would be great -for sure
That would be siiiick. Although the Habs greats tend to be so regal you don’t really get the good stuff from them. It’s different being a hab no doubt no question!!
Chris - you're a great interviewer!
John, From Detroit. Awesome… thanks.
Love The Raw Knuckles Podcast. Keep up the great work, Chris!
THE guy you wanted on your team going into the playoffs!
Two of the toughest guys that played for The Habs. Great podcast Chris!!!
huh
@@hoss-lk4bg tough isn't just fighting with a visor. Claude took a lot of hits and fought for position and the puck every shift. Turtled some but showed up for every battle.
That was a great show... Claude was a pain in the nuts to Boston so many times... Great great show...Knuck.......
Gad damn ... that OT goal against Hartford broke my heart. I'm a Montrealer ... never liked the habs to say the least, but THESE 2 guys could be on my team ANY day!
Awesome podcast! Claude is one of the best clutch players in history
He sure is
Him, Nystrom and Steve Kasper
@@hippy1002those 2Conn Smyth puts a lot of shine on those 4 Stanley cups
@@hippy1002 the most clutch ever. That has to make you a hall of famer. His Québécois background is the reason why he is not in
Holy moly that shooting at Detroit's net story during the playoff warmups is hysterical
Discovered your podcast Chris and I'm loving it!!

Great show Chris.
Great job chris
Awesome Lemaire Story, so sick of people complaining that all Lemaire did was Trap.
Many of many of many hockey fans hated Claude Lemieux but I absolutely loved this guy everywhere he played - MTL, NJ, COL he somehow always ended up in the Stanley Cup. The Draper incident was just bad luck it was a hit between chippy teams that just ended badly. Guy had a target on his back every where every night but still showed up and agitated. Never backed down. He was a tough guy despite the mask and limited fighting skills. Players like Claude are what filled up arenas and TV ratings. Huge personality.
Great podcast.
Chris what amazing podcast! Keep it up!

the scott gomez podcasts about claude are unreal.... he was an animal lmao 🍻🍻🍻🍻
Chris, great to see #10’s jersey hanging in the background.
Best podcast ever watched million of them thanks

What a great fvckin podcast, it was so informative and so funny !!
Great interview …Pepe is a huge bueaty
Glad you are still with us, Chris. btw Curt Fraser still looking for you, lol. Dunno what you said to him in that Vancouver game, but he wanted you on a stretcher.
Chris, great podcast so I just subscribed. Like others have commented, an interview with Larry Robinson would be cool.
Chris, these podcasts are great!
Thanks BoB www.patreon.com/TheRawKnucklesPodcast
Loving the show! As a Neely/Bruins fan, I hated him. But can't deny how clutch/effective he was. 100% deserves HOF.
Great interview. Maybe get The Bomber Ken Baumgartner on ?
they were villains that Canadien team in '86. my dad nearly smashed the tv when they beat calgary
As a Dread the Red Wings fan I absolutely hated the AVS and Claude my buddy was/is a fan. Hindsight looking back I grew to respect Claude and the AVS’ was lucky enough to experience those years and successes of both franchises. Was even rooting for them last season. Great interview.
Love the show Brother

One of the greatest clutch players to have ever played the game. Meanwhile, being hunted by other teams, fearless, reckless, amazing.
Claude in this interview shows - especially in that Larry Robinson story - you say what's on your mind to people in the moment and good things happen. A lot of people would have stewed on it and harboured resentment ...
Wore used skates the first 5 years I played hockey. Granted, a new pair of used skates every year but that was a normal thing back then. Got my first pair of new Tacks in college and that was from savings from the second summer job.
Another classic interview by you Chris! I don't know how I missed it when it was first shown. Great job Chris! Any chance you can get Patrick Roy on your show?
I've bee trying-twice he's said he'll come on and then it's crickets! I'll keep trying...www.patreon.com/TheRawKnucklesPodcast
I grew up in the Boston area and boy was that guy a heel. However, after watching this interview he seems like a quality dude.
As a Bruins fan I've always hated Claude.after watching your show I now have to respect him as a player and a person.i do apologise to claude.thanks knuckles, you have opened my eyes.god bless you both.
That pre-game brawl is one of the wildest things ever. Rick Tocchet was on the ice though, Mike McPhee seemingly had him tied up most of the time. At one point during a flare-up you can see him throwing a few punches at McPhee.
I wish Stapleton was here to ask about the chiclets Gomez interview. I laughed so hard at that. Hahaha, good times 😎
How great is this channel... think of all the great "professional" interviewers out there, they got nothing on Chris... keep em coming!!!
Wow, thanks so much
