  • SLOT HAS BIG DECISIONS TO MAKE! | West Ham 2-2 Liverpool reaction
Liverpool continued stumbling toward the Premier League finish line as they were held to a 2-2 draw by West Ham.
The Reds came from behind through an Andy Robertson strike and an Alphonse Areola own goal forced by Cody Gakpo.
But they were forced to settle for a point after conceding a sloppy late equaliser.
Liverpool reporter David Lynch watched the action and was impressed by the performances of Ryan Gravenberch and Luis Diaz.
However, he also thinks evidence that big calls await the new manager was provided, including at full-back and up top.
Check out this review of the game and let us know your thoughts on the performance in the comments.

Thnx for good observations. If we are honest and realistic then to get 4th spot (hopefully) and CL - after all the major injuries suffered by the team and VAR issues - we have done remarkably well. Maybe over achieved. It also shows how good Mane and Bobby were, both missed.

Full midfield rebuild, we shouldn’t have been in a title race….we were and we were allowed to dream again under klopp, massive overachieving with this new midfield. Champions league and a cup win is a big achievement from the boss and leaves us in as good a place as possible for next season without him.
My hope….our supporters don’t forget where klopp has brought us back from….twice, and that we give him the thanks and gratitude a great man is due from this club.

We know that Salah has that in him. Our best paid player ever let’s not forget and playing terribly. Completely deserves to be dropped. Mo has always been Mo first- I’ll never forget his blurt of an agent haggling for a new deal when we were going for a quad a couple of years ago.

It was over at Palace so can't wait for the end of the season now tbh. We overachieved all season & just ran out of steam. You can tell the mentality isn't right & the players are mentally & physically exhausted. A very disappointing & ignominious end to the season & Klopp era sadly. However, after last season, I would've happily taken 3rd & the League Cup, but it's still disappointing after the season promised so much up until only a few weeks ago.

Timing of Klopp’s announcement in January could be a big factor in all of this. Doesn’t excuse the shocking finishing but might explain some of the performances we’re seeing. Can understand why he announced it then (to give the club time to transition) but looks to have had a negative effect rather than a galvanising one.
Fresh start with fresh ideas has come at the right time I think.
    Boss outlook as always Dave!

Better in the second half and should have killed the game off at 2-1. Really poor defensively again. Seem to have real problems on crosses and seems like a miracle if we keep a clean sheet. We seem to lack real leaders who want to fight. This was never more evidently clear than at Everton. Can't believe how poor we've been since the fa Cup game. Very disappointing end to the season.

Get Pacho for CB. 5. Koopmeiners wants to join. 6. Get Bajcetic healthy and play him as the main DM in the pivot. 7. Get Danns in the squad immediately. How's that?

David, I think this summer would be the right time to sell Mo, especially if we could get the type of money mentioned last summer. I'd like to see Darwin take his tally for the season to 20 all comps (that would be an improvement of 5 over last season and suggests he could get up to 25 next season). With the money for Mo, we should be able to get another clinical finisher (like Diogo) with money left over. I'd keep the rest of the strike force because they've all contributed to some degree this season and the new manager may be able to get more out of them.

Sell salah, incredible stats but it's always been about him, his ego and personal achievements. We need true finisher up front - ollie Watkins goal conversion and work rate is up there. Olise and Eze are brilliant wingers and one of those would be good addition.

Too much side passing, presumably to retain possession, build confidence and break up space but was a default setting in the first half instead of attack. The vibe changed completely in the second half, leading to the two Liverpool goals but then they reverted to static sustainex side-passing, lost possession, and the equalizwr came. Awful first half with no sense of urgency or attack.

Klopp is the reason for the limited LFC success during his reign. He forgot that he's a LFC manager and not FSG general manager. LFC didn't win more trophies is because we didn't have good enough bench and klopp has OVER used the main players which led to fatigue, injury and disharmony. FSG, are the worse owners any team can have. They're treating LFC like a small club and rinsing the club dry. We must drive them out ASAP.. It's time for change.

Let’s see what Mo says, he’s only had good times at Liverpool really. He seems a good guy so he needs to address this. I also think it’s time to sell, he doesn’t have that electric pace anymore. Natural time to leave with a new manager coming in.
