My first playthrough I had Kharjo as a follower. Went through the Thieves Guild quest and spoke to Gulum-Ei, moved on with several quests. Realized Kharjo was no longer by my side. Searched everywhere, finally made it back to Gulum-Ei's lair to find Kharjo floating in one of the pools.
It's a bit dissapointing Inigo didn't make a Pelinal joke at Imperial friends. Saying something like, "Remember friend, I'm not an elf." He makes little jokes like that at other races. I'm also a bit confused why he commented on Nords not letting Khajiit into cities, and not Dunmer enslaving Khajiit.
And if memory serves me, Khajiit were created by mutating a group of Bosmer by Sheogorath for fun (including all 17 types), Azura got mad and protected them from any more mischievous ideas. So the Khajiit pantheon was created right after with Azurah, Padomay, Jone, Jode, etc.
