I saw this in the recommended feed and asked if we could watch it cuz the lunch lady looked funny. She turned on the video and we all laughed and then when they said “crappy” we all lost it and she turned the video off
You know growing up our generation was exposed to a lot of unhealthy food yet we were taught about how we should eat five a day of healthy foods but we were overwhelmed with all of the fatty & junk food that was out there. So this was clearly on point
i was part of the foreign exchange student program and was sent to the USA for a year (junior year) and the food really wasn’t that good luckily the host family was Japanese American so the food i lived on were close to home. I did have a school lunch one but it was not appetizing it’s sad to see such food given to children and teens.

At our local museum they have an exhibit on the average weight and kids and the amount of cola they consume but the stand thing there is this major drop in weight around the 1980s even though the cola consumption continued to go up. The REAL problem is not that we eat to much fat but we get too little exercise and it is no longer a problem just in the US; Japan is starting to get a weight problem as well.
I remember our high school had a mural in the cafetieria....it had a lot of healthy fruits and veggies on it...inclluding an EGGPLANT. We still got pizza day every week and beefy nachos every other day. oh yeah and there was a 5 prong fork on the mural too...lol. it was an awful mural...
I agree with you both. There was a value in the old Victorian days of fit mind AND body. In throwing out all the bad things that the Victorian Age had we seem to have thrown out the good as well. Reagan created a revival in the 1980s but it didn't last and now kids are couch potatoes.

Apparently the public schools are forced to provide food with a curtain number of calories in order to micromanage kids weights in schools. Also because of a incident in a public school somewhere in Texas Red Bull Drinks are not allowed. Because a kid drank ten cans in under a minute and went into a epileptic shock which almost killed him. However that may just be in a few areas since I noticed one at my little cousins high school.

I'm 29 years old and i went to a mix of private and public schools. All teh options sucked as far as nutrition. IT was pizza, and fries every day. the only school i went to that had a decent option back then was my middle school which offered a salad bar 3 days a week.

i was the fattest kid in my school in 8th grade i was over 6ft tall and less than 200lbs and with a lot of that muscle and i still got picked on and all my school gave us was a small cup of sweet tea and some small item like 1 hot dog boy was smuggling food in a lucrative business i cant tell you all the food i smuggled
i ate the same thing for my lunch everyday from grade 3-12 i peanut butter sandwich one apple or other fruit. that's it. in grade 10 at the age of 15 i reached my full adult height and weight, 5'9 200 pounds. its all good
