      Jesse, I don't know why but flexibility and mobility in general is worse in my left side as a whole. My kicks aren't that good with my left leg. Do you know why that reason might be?

    Before I found your videos online I thought I had made a mistake and picking Karate for martial arts even though I enjoyed it. Muay Thai and Kickboxing and others were always seen as practical and Karate was always looked down upon in my area as just art and no real use. Your videos have helped me learn the true use of Kata through Bunkai and how to make my kata better with these type of videos. Your enthusiasm and excitement every-time on the screen inspires me to push myself further and try my best. To not give up when things are difficult. So truly, thank you.

      Those who look down upon Karate doesn’t even know about Karate. Karate is a good martial art to learn. It teaches balance, power,and discipline. Karate shows you how to defend yourselves both deadly and non deadly. Karate like most other moves in fighting will always help you achieve in defending yourselves. In reality, everyone fights differently and in the streets everyone experience different situations too. Sometimes your answers are not always to choke and punch people. Sometimes you have to use weapons to help protect you. You do what ever makes you happy. We all have our own opinions on things, but for those who talks shit about what you like to do, are not that intelligent nor mature. Ignore those nay sayers, because you can’t please everyone. Just be you.

    Big bow to you sir. I am a instructor at my TKD Dojang. Even though our arts are different. Even some of our kata, poomse, almost exactly mimic classical Karate movements. With this said your ability to talk and teach are so well rounded and polished. You could say I found a new role model!!! :D keep up the great work!

    "To improve your kicks, practice your kicks"
    Great advice! Often we think that we need some special exercise to improve a technique. I remember one time when I asked my Teacher: "What exercise should I do to improve my Gyaku-zuki?" to which he replied "Repeat a lot of Gyaku-zuki".

    Based on my music and (little bit) in martial arts experience, I use to teach piano with martial examples: doing it like if you where "slowded" down, leads the mind and conscience taking control of body, if you can do it slow, with control, you can make it at any speed you want. But first Control and Uniformity.

  • @Msosbog
    @Msosbog Před 3 lety

    As always another great video on multiple levels!😊🙏
    1) I have learned in my time to never underestimate being prepared before the fact; Many a time I have spent such effort setting up my training accoutrements that I was too tired to train afterwards 😁
    2) Please be yourself, it's who you are after all. When I trained in JFKF/ JKD I did this exact exercise, and, thinking I had to "be" like Bruce Lee, what happened was, my supporting leg was swept out from under me by my own uncontrolled momentum and lack of root and other physics reasons I had not yet grasped - I bruised my butt, and my ego! Take your time with training to avoid injury and remember, you can only be you - avoid "bruising your butt".
    🙏 (I do not mean to subvert or take away from Jesse-San's lessons here, quite the opposite! Apologies if I have, no offense at all intended!)
    Respect to all and many thanks to Jesse-San!
    🙏👍

It may seem to be a stupid question but some people says that the hook on which we hang a fan will do the work. But I feel it won't work . Coz the bags r probably heavier and punching and kicking them puts a lots of stress on that hook and probably it will fall off. Can you say something about it sensei. Oss!

And on the set of one of his movies, there is a picture of him kicking, while it appears as though he's grasping something with one of his hands. Although he's not actually holding onto something.
