Jesse, I don't know why but flexibility and mobility in general is worse in my left side as a whole. My kicks aren't that good with my left leg. Do you know why that reason might be?
OMG my comment got pinned!!!!!!
Before I found your videos online I thought I had made a mistake and picking Karate for martial arts even though I enjoyed it. Muay Thai and Kickboxing and others were always seen as practical and Karate was always looked down upon in my area as just art and no real use. Your videos have helped me learn the true use of Kata through Bunkai and how to make my kata better with these type of videos. Your enthusiasm and excitement every-time on the screen inspires me to push myself further and try my best. To not give up when things are difficult. So truly, thank you.

Those who look down upon Karate doesn’t even know about Karate. Karate is a good martial art to learn. It teaches balance, power, and discipline. Karate shows you how to defend yourselves both deadly and non deadly. Karate like most other moves in fighting will always help you achieve in defending yourselves. In reality, everyone fights differently and in the streets everyone experience different situations too. Sometimes your answers are not always to choke and punch people. Sometimes you have to use weapons to help protect you. You do what ever makes you happy. We all have our own opinions on things, but for those who talks shit about what you like to do, are not that intelligent nor mature. Ignore those nay sayers, because you can’t please everyone. Just be you.
0:45 the famous "third leg exercise"
Big bow to you sir. I am a instructor at my TKD Dojang. Even though our arts are different. Even some of our kata, poomse, almost exactly mimic classical Karate movements. With this said your ability to talk and teach are so well rounded and polished. You could say I found a new role model!!! :D keep up the great work!
This exercise is really good for improving kicks . I will practice it daily
"To improve your kicks, practice your kicks"
Great advice! Often we think that we need some special exercise to improve a technique. I remember one time when I asked my Teacher: "What exercise should I do to improve my Gyaku-zuki?" to which he replied "Repeat a lot of Gyaku-zuki".
Thank you, Jesse Enkamp. Because I've been trying to improve the height for my kicks for a very long time.
+Charizardz For Life Happy to help 😃 Train smart! 👍
What’s this???!
Charizard is learning a new move:

0:46 Thrust of Freedom!
at first I was getting annoyed by how detailed you are being, but then realized, I need to be that way with my student.. I forget that when teaching the more detailed we are the easier it will be for students to get what it is we are trying to teach thanks Brother. for the video and a good Idea to use yet again.
1m 13 year old with yellow belt and after a long time i didnt go to practice and i lost my touch on it. when i saw this video i am thinking to practice on kata, Kicking alll and all.
Thank you brother
Wishing you a brighter future
Never run with scissors
This was probably the most helpful video ive watched for kicks, kick height has nearly risen by a third
Great idea. Very creative.
No Retreat, No Surrender. I like the slice at the end. Hehehe. Good job Jesse San.
+Blade Martial Arts Academy Deep bow! 🙌
Jesse has done another amazing video…a brilliant fusion of engineering, science and artistic passion….highly informative and inspirational!
The excersice was good but the line/words "giving myself a visual goal" was what realy got me as I am feeling unmotivated rigth now. could problably be the usual "fall depression". Great video as usual! :D
+SkilledAI Keep going bro! 💪🔥👊
I think this is one of the most practical and productive ways to increase the height of your kicks. I would like such a goofy sensei. Most of the teachers that I have met are so serious all the time.
Very nice, definitely going to use this
The best ideas are always the simplest. Great video, Sensei.

@@wafzaf *Kyokushin. It's a pretty modern style.
Makes sense to me sensei great video
Great respect and learning 👊🤜🤛👊
Thanks , I have never seen this before
Based on my music and (little bit) in martial arts experience, I use to teach piano with martial examples: doing it like if you where "slowded" down, leads the mind and conscience taking control of body, if you can do it slow, with control, you can make it at any speed you want. But first Control and Uniformity.
Cool videos!!!
Running out to try this right away!!!
Thanks a lot l actually really liked the idea
Really nice video sensei Jesse
Great advice for life itself.
Good work
Hey bro do u have vids of u doing kata....
If u do can u give me the link plz.
I do appreciate your training vedios . They do definitely help if one implements them . I would like to see one on the roundhouse kick . Please .
Informative video! Liked the exercises demonstrated in developing your kicks but you had me at BRUCE LEE! Well done!
As always another great video on multiple levels!😊🙏
1) I have learned in my time to never underestimate being prepared before the fact; Many a time I have spent such effort setting up my training accoutrements that I was too tired to train afterwards 😁
2) Please be yourself, it's who you are after all. When I trained in JFKF/ JKD I did this exact exercise, and, thinking I had to "be" like Bruce Lee, what happened was, my supporting leg was swept out from under me by my own uncontrolled momentum and lack of root and other physics reasons I had not yet grasped - I bruised my butt, and my ego! Take your time with training to avoid injury and remember, you can only be you - avoid "bruising your butt".
🙏 (I do not mean to subvert or take away from Jesse-San's lessons here, quite the opposite! Apologies if I have, no offense at all intended!)
Respect to all and many thanks to Jesse-San!
🙏👍
Excellent training tool. Cheap, easy, realistic.
can't get it anymore realistic then in this video, lol. I enjoyed every moment of it.
Superb! Very useful video.and ending¡¡¡¿

Good work sensei,I like the fact that you training karatekas not just to the type of style.

HI JESSE YOUR TIPS ARE AWESOME.IM NEW TO KARATE BEEN IN 5 MONTHS HOW MUCH TRAINING SHOULD I DO AT HOME BESIDE THE 2 DAYS OF CLASS A WEEK.OOPS IN HICAPS LOL
Great technique 👍👍👍
+SENSEI KUNAL NAIDU Thank you!
Really good video.
Quick question, which kind of karate do you practice?
Do you can make a videos with training for speed punch
To improve just practice. Hmm I get that word everywhere nowadays. Even on my white belt training. On my Drummond guitar lesson. That word tho. Haha Os sensei. Nice one. Love the clogs as well by the way especially from Okinawa. I would like to pay a visit one day. Os sensei hi from Greece.
This is a great tutorial Sensei Jesse!! Oh my, when you initially got on the small stepping stool to get the ball up, I cried from continuous laughter!! LOL!!! Thanks for sharing!! :)Hai..
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁
I read about this same set up in the late American Martial arts and self defence Pioneer Bruce Tegner's books on Karate , Jukado and Self Defense
Awesome Jesse thank you! :)
+maark182 You’re welcome! 😄
Oss sensei. Sensei can u tell us about the metal loop or the hook thing in the ceiling which holds a boxing bag. It may seem to be a stupid question but some people says that the hook on which we hang a fan will do the work. But I feel it won't work . Coz the bags r probably heavier and punching and kicking them puts a lots of stress on that hook and probably it will fall off. Can you say something about it sensei. Oss!
please video for kyokoishan karate
Your hero really brother
, I used wiffle golf balls. They're very inexpensive at Walmart they have holes in them so it's easy to tie the string line.
hello Sir I am proud of you
That’s a cool training exercise. Bruce created Jesse tested !
Nice idea
I hope you can come to Egypt
تابع يا بطل
Thanks sensei Jesse😁osu🙏🙏
WOW BRO NOT BAD IS IT SEEMS VERY CLEAR THAT THERE IS BRUCE LEE'S INFLUENCE IN UR EVERY BODY PART.I LIKE IT TOO MUCH THANKS 4 UPLODE THIS ADORABLE VEDIO.:) ;)
Sensei Jesse, it is a pleasure to say hello to you. I have a question for you; when you were trying to do the maguashi gueri, shouldn't your heel be in the same line of your chest and shoulder? I mean it should be parallel with the body, right?. Thanks
How do you get your leg really straight in a front kick at 90 degrees? Mine always has a bend.
can you explain kekomi and keage??? plz
Is that makiwara equipment behind that's for Mae Geri right
I've seen some pictures of Bruce Lee performing the exercise with the rope tied to one of his legs. And on the set of one of his movies, there is a picture of him kicking, while it appears as though he's grasping something with one of his hands. Although he's not actually holding onto something.
You should learn and make a video of you doing Uechi-Ryu Sanchin! Notice our style Mr. Enkamp!
I can kick super high. It’s my secret weapon 🥋🥋
I like karate
Good video bro! If they ever make another Street fighter movie, you should be cast as Ken. :)
It's really hard and painful . I will always recommend to do some warm up and stressing before this exercise bcz this cramps hurts.
What do you say sansai jasse should we do!?
Perdon donde estan ubicados ?
Hey sensei enkamp why do you bow before entering and before leaving the dojo? I did it in Jude class. But never understood the meaning behind it. I never did that stuff it taekwondo. But I am guessing that's it is different then
