@@caterpillarslim1288.... thanks for your reply, Ed. I completely understand what you're saying and can understand why you think that. Having said that, it was a very rare occasion back in the 1970s that any KT or KTA could run with either my own V12's that I "built" (modified)... and the KTA 600's reputation for being "reliable" was Not one of its strong points. I will say though, that they have come a long way since those early days of the series and continue to be produced new, for industrial applications, but Not under the KT/KTA series platform, of course.

With a bit more modern electronics fuel, timing, air to air etc the torque could be much higher compared to some of the newer engines however lots of good old fashioned snort! You must have put the engine in, yourselves... because the only "big power" option for the Transtar (4090 COE) was the V12 Detroit. International Never received the KT / KTA Series from Cummins... the Standard Engines for the Transtar COE, was the NTC (290hp and 350 - 400hp in later 1970's) Cummins and the 8-71 Detroit.

Cummins is the best diesel. Followed by Detriots (Screamin Jimmy's) Change my mind! lol Love how it just rocks the tractor.

I was raised around CAT powered trucks, so I'm a little biased. Cummins is right up there with them. Detroit....is a different story. 🙄

Yea the k model is the untouched king of the road. But it never belonged there, like a bull in a China shop. As for the rest of Cummins (except for the big cam and 5.9) they are just sort of ok.

Nice! Must be the detuned version though because they go up to 700hp stock and I’d imagine that it would be for marine applications. The way it lopes says marine

I can promise you these trucks are all making way more than 600 HP lol....I don't know the exact ratings on these particular units so that's why I put 600+ in the title. Someone in the comments below said the first one is making 1200 HP, I wouldn't doubt it.
