My name is Michael, and I'm an old soul with a passion for American-made iron. I come from a long line of Italian vegetable farmers in New Jersey, the former produce capital of the USA. On my channel, you'll find videos of all different kinds of heavy machinery - tractors, trucks, construction equipment, and more! I ran my own lawn-care business in high school, worked for a Case IH ag dealership out of college, and currently work for one of the largest Peterbilt truck dealerships in the country. I collect antique tractors for fun, and hope to start collecting vintage trucks in the near future. I also enjoy tractor/truck hunting, dirt track racing, urbex (rural history), and country & rock music, so you'll occasionally see videos on that stuff as well. You can find me outdoors, on the road, at a tractor show, or wrenching in my shop. If you like what you see, don't forget to hit that Subscribe button. Thanks for stopping by!

John Deere 318 and Cub Cadet "318 Wannabe" Walkaround, Start, and Drive

Just a quick walkaround video on this rainy Sunday, comparing the features of two iconic flagship models of garden tractors - the John Deere 318, and the Cub Cadet 782 - this one is a custom-built "318 Wannabe" which I upgraded to include all of the same creature comforts as a 318. This tractor was built using all Cub Cadet OEM parts except for the Onan P218G engine itself, which came out of an...

This past winter, I dragged a few more relics from my late grandfather's farming days out of the weeds, saving them from potentially being scrapped or sold. These were some of the early implements he used as far back as 1951, when he purchased the farm and his first tractor, a John Deere A, to convert 105 acres of cow pasture into fertile vegetable fields. He spent the next two decades using th...

Finally got around to editing and uploading my video footage from this year's PA Plow Day in Watsontown, PA. Thanks to the effort of Dave Fry and his crew, this year's plow day had a strong turnout, in spite of the questionable weather during the preceding week (I believe I heard a total of 120 tractors registered), but field conditions overall weren't bad, as the ground dried out enough for us...

In light of PA Plow Day this coming weekend, I just wanted to update everyone on the status of the custom Cub Cadet 782 which has been my plow tractor the last 3 years. It's always great to see old workhorses still out there getting the job done and making money, especially for large construction outfits like HRI Inc out of State College, Pennsylvania. Thought I'd start the new year off with something different, and let you all hear the old 7.3L Powerstroke climb a few of these smaller Pennsylvania hills on a cold January day. It was around 25°F in this video (nothing too extreme, but the coldest temps we've seen so far this winter), and thanks to the 6637 air filter and KC300X turbo, the cold air certainly made the old Powerstroke sing. Mowing & Mulching Leaves With the John Deere 330 Diesel (For the Last Time?) - Lawn Mowing ASMR

This is the first, and may very well be the last, video of my 1986 John Deere 330 diesel mowing my lawn, wrapping up the 2023 season. I purchased this tractor in November 2022 to replace the 316 Onan I had been using, strictly because I needed a machine with better fuel economy - the 316 was using way too much gas to mow my 1/4 acre lot (the unfortunate downside of an Onan opposed-twin engine)....

Hey Michael! I’m looking at a local who’s selling a 1989 Cub 1811 Hydro with a blade and I was wondering how much it is worth. It’s only got 811 hours on it and he’s price is fairly cheap. I was wondering if they were any good.
@@ThatMowerMan very good tractors. Pretty much the newer version of my 782 with magneto ignition. It might be a $600-800 tractor with the blade and with lower hours.
Wide frame cubs are nice machines. Hoping to get a Cub original to compliment my custom GT2544 build. Something about the early narrow frames with the round fenders I love.
Glad to see the old girl running its music to my ears
Was the second set of hydraulics added on aftermarket? I didnt think the standard GTs had dual hydraulic levers.

I have a Kohler Command 22 v twin 2006 I had bought 6 years ago, the only problem I had was the starter issue that I finnialy resolved last year, She runs strong and I blow the tractor out after every cutting to keep the air flow clean. I noticed from an early beginning that when my first drive belt snapped , which was caused from grass buildup pushing the belt against the guides .I'm at 800 hours and burns no oil.
Sounds like it's treated you pretty well. I think this one was just a dud from the start...our experience with this one wasn't great but a lot of them are still out there running strong.
Just subscribe, i love the old cub cadets. Just picked up a 1650 with twin stick hydraulic lift. Has the front hydraulic also. Cane with a deck and front plow.
Thanks for the sub! Congrats on the new 1650, the twin stick hydraulics are really handy to have for a front blade. Good luck with your new machine.

Hi, I am considering purchasing a regular Farmall 95A.Would you recomment this model tractor? I specifically want it to run a 9" disc mower. Thanks
95 HP should be plenty of tractor for a 9' mower. However, for the money, I think you'd be better off jumping up to a Farmall C series utility especially if you want more than 75 HP. The 90C or 100C are better built, have more creature comforts and transmission options. When I was still working for the dealer they sold a lot of 75C's especially with cab and loader...they seemed to be good strong tractors with plenty of options for the money (and a nice cab as well).
I have the exact same truck. Mine runs like new, with only 700k original miles, original transmission, original engine. Motor never rebuilt. I have a video of it on CZcams.
I watched your video. Very nice truck and it's in great shape overall for the miles. I'm hoping to get at least that many miles out of this one....would be great to push it to a million.
Legendary in Australia........a mechanical KTA-600 can flog anything when hooked up to 130 tons gross mass. They are faster and use less fuel than any of the electronic 600's that came later like the ISX,C-15 etc.
Another thing that sucks about repowers? They recommend leaving the engine tins off! Hell no! I think they are worth less if the original Onan is gone and I won't buy them. I own 4 318s, a 1985, 1986, 1988, 1991 all original Onans, except one has a newer Linamar but is an Onan P218G. Just built in Canada. Love these old tractors. Rebuilt the '91 so far and the '85 is next with a B43G.
Great point! Most of those repower kits are made to be shoehorned into the engine compartment of a 318 (for instance), usually don't fit correctly without drilling new holes, and usually don't fit without leaving the side covers off or cutting a hole in the side cover to fit around them. More trouble than they are worth. It sounds like you have a great fleet of 318's. I didn't mention it in the video, but my inspiration comes from my uncle's fleet of 318's ('85, '86 he bought new and now has a Linamar, '88 and '89) which are all used and abused on the farm and have proven themselves reliable over and over again.
@MichaelTJD60 I like them un-molested too all of mine but 1 only had a dealer stickers no cup holder drilled into the fenders, all the tins are there and belly screens on. My '88 had been repainted and don't even have a dealer sticker on it. I will keep these going until my time is up and I feel the 318s will still be running strong. Can't say that with today's crap we get.
