    By far best DIY splitter install I have seen and I am pretty sure I have watched them all now lol. Most people do the one like your original splitter which is mainly just for looks, maybe adds a tad down force, but this video..this is where it is at and all the others like this I have seen they used wood..which is common but I'm not a fan of the wood.

    Super cool! Are you gonna keep those canards in front of the wheels? The tires sticking out may be causing drag. I’ve seen people get angled ones that stick flush with the fitment in front of the wheels to combat that. I may be wrong I’m not super knowledgeable on the subject but something to consider! Thanks for the inspiration!

  • @michaeljohn1160
    @michaeljohn1160 Před 6 měsíci

    This is purely for show. It will create more drag then downforce. Splitter need to be bracket mounted to chassis. One hit on a curb, those front rods are going into your cooler. FYI large tires outside of the fenders create a huge amount of unsprung weight. More drag.

  • @chasespeer251
    @chasespeer251 Před 4 lety +1

    It would be alright for street use but if you're only using rods, I really wouldn't suggest standing on it personally and without end plates it will lose a lot of down force on the track. I know you're not too concerned about track use but if someone watching this video gets the idea to do the same for a track setup

    • @JonnyBarajas
      @JonnyBarajas  Před 5 lety

      I used the bolts used for the skid plate and used longer bolts threaded to these to hold the rear portion on the splitter and the rods for the front.

      @shiekh_yurbhoutti9548 Před 5 lety +1

    • @JonnyBarajas

      @JonnyBarajas  Před 6 lety +2

    • @Steelnack1
      @Steelnack1 Před 5 lety

      Jonny The Car Doctor if you ever dig it into a pothole//curb//roadkill it will undoubtedly F that cooler setup all the way up. It may hold your weight with you applying a downward force but try hitting it with a sledge from the bottom or any off-angle smash, it won't be too pretty. I'd probably mount them independently like GT86GT400 was alluding to. ¢ 2 delivered.
