dude , this is fantastic ! , really great tutorial , I thought u used some kinda drum Machine and throw the samples there , but the way u arrange everything in the timeline its pretty amazing , it almost feels like someone hitting an acoustic drum kit and gettin' those sounds from it hahah , really cool !

It made me remember borrowing a tow-chain from the gas station next to our France Avenue studio in 1989; I dropped it onto a section of a Yamaha cymbal stand, capturing it with a simple 57 into a DSM-1 sampler, then layered it with a detuned reverse snare for live performance.

Very creative with layering samples. I like the car trailer, I was literally beating on a simi trailer a couple weeks ago thinking this sounds as good if not better then my orchestral drums from my eastwest libraries. Thanks for the video very out of the box.

Very cool to see this. I really enjoyed watching and hope you do more of these. I never knew just how many custom samples you used in your songs like this. Also I'd love to see something like this for some of your older Owl City songs from All Things Bright and Beautiful or Ocean Eyes. Those songs had some really nice subtle melodies going on.
Aah, been messing around with custom sampling recently and I love mixing it with synths just to get that organic/acoustic vibe in the middle of everything. The slapback and splash were really awesome! They really made nice build-ups to the beat. Now I know what to try next, heh.. Hope you'll continue doing these! Thanks!

ha. love this. I have a boss br-600 that's a great sample taker. been plugging the samples into either Iris 1 or 2, and going from there. love creating the sounds and I know it's stuff no one has heard before. thanks for the layering show.
