- "Arrival" is the fourth studio album by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was released on 11 October 1976. With an estimated 18 million copies sold, it is the group's best-selling studio album.
The first sessions began in the summer of 1975. On August 5, the song "Fernando" was recorded. It was originally not intended to be recorded by the group but by Frida. After the Swedish version became a hit in Sweden the group released an English version as the first single from the sessions for the album Arrival.
They also started another track, it became the best known song of the album and probably of the group: "Dancing Queen".
On March 23, 1976 ABBA returned to the studio recording the song "Knowing Me, Knowing You". The next day, the quartet recorded the track "That's Me" B-side of "Dancing Queen".
Work on the album was postponed until April 26 when "Happy Hawaii" was recorded. Later, on May 17, the recording of "Money, Money, Money" took place, which was released as the album's second single in early November. On June 14, the recording of the track "Rio de Janeiro" was completed, which would eventually be renamed "When I Kissed The Teacher".
On July 19 and 20, the songs "Tiger" and "Dum Dum Diddle" were completed. The ballad "My Love, My Life" was recorded late in the sessions for the album on August 20. On August 27, the track "Why Did It Have To Be Me?" is finalized and finally on August 30, the title track is recorded. "Arrival" was the second and last instrumental track to be included on an ABBA album. - Hudba

"Arrival" (for me Is 8pts average)
is my second favorite ABBA album,
only surpassed by the following "The Album"
I like all their songs, it is an album that can be listened to from beginning to end without skipping tracks
Looking at the chronology I notice a very particular detail:
the songs with Frida on lead vocals were recorded long before those with Agnetha as lead vocals.
If I had to rank the songs, from best to weakest, all above 6pts:

(I do not include "Fernando" or "Happy Hawaii"

As a distinctive feature of your edition,
I am glad that for "Dancing Queen" you have put the image of Frida and Agnetha recording her voices, exactly that day
I wait for the next one, which is the previous one, the self-titled ABBA (the one that closes my Favorites Podium)

@@MVLEITONYes, "Fernando" and "Happy Hawaii" were not part of the original album release, but, as I have done with the other videos, I usually take as a reference the Spotify album, in most of the cases, the Deluxe Edition!
