I had a great ride out to Halcombe and Marton on the North Island of New Zealand today. Its about 80 miles or 130k, in all including my many detours to look at stuff I often do.
The roads up through to Halcom and on to Marton are perfect bikers roads, with plenty of smooth bends and generally a good road surface all the way.
Marton is a beautiful little village with lots of oldy world buildings and shops, and I had a great refreshing cuppa coffee there.
Weather was glorious at over 31C when I set off, but it did make the ride a little warm for me with the old Barber style jacket I use.. Riding with all the zips undone on the jacket and vents open on the helmet helped a lot to cool me down but the jacket did become a bit of a parachute at times lol but it was still great fun. My old leather is far to hot to use in this weather. It would have been nice to have ridden shirt sleeves like I used to do as a lad but the consequences at my age put me off.

For a while it reminded me of my Daytona 4 speed, but then you get here and it puts me on my Bonneville. I love to navigation you come up with and so new Dave! Nostalgia City for me!!
