Thank you for a very enjoyable 2 hours. The scenery is gorgeous and your camera is very good, very clean video. Also, thank you for the maps. They added a good bit to understanding the route. I don't travel anymore, and I've found that while this is no substitute for actually being there, good videos like this and a large screen really do pretty much put you there, with just a little imagination. Thanks to CZcams, and thanks even more to you. This is great stuff.
What a beautiful little railway. I'd love to take a ride on this journey in real life. I followed it on Google Earth and by far my favourite part is after Plachkovtsi where the line loops around itself. The rolling stock is different from MÁV (Hungarian State Railways) but reminds me of Hungary.
The spirals with the maps are awesome ! Nice engineering work to put that track in. Great sounds differences between old clickety clack and new CWR tracks. Love this video and landscapes.
A beautiful trip through varied terrain! Although the area this line serves is largely rural, constructing it would have been costly both in labor and money, so at some point there must have been a demand for it. Maintaining it also must be expensive, and keeping the tracks and overhead power clear during winter storms would be a challenge.
Well, you are absolutely right about the cost of the railway. But the country is devided in two halfs by the Stara planina(Balkan) mounain and there are 14 mountain road passes and 1 highway but only three (3) railroads crossing it. One in the western part, one in the central part(from this video) and one in the eastern part. But in all cases this mountain is quite a challenge to travel through.
What a nice train ride. Beautiful landscape. I enjoyed the full 2 hours of the cab ride. What traction Voltage is in use here, 15kV 16 2/3Hz or 25kV 50 Hz ?
Great video. I enjoyed every minute of it. An amazing railway line. Any idea of when is was built and how long it took to build. The tunnels are unique in that you don't see a 180 degrees turn inside a tunnel very often.
The line itself was put in use in 1900 but some of the tunnels took longer and were finished after the Balkan wars. And some additions were made much later.
Hi: I have a Word file with links to pictures of the locomotives ridden. Can you please tell me the locomotive ridden? Thanks, Dog
I had asked what type of locomotive this was back in June but never heard back. Can you please tell me the type of locomotive your were riding? Thanks much, Dog
Beautiful scenery. I'm astonished how much it looks like the mountains of western North Carolina, especially the last half.
Very nice trip. Thank you for shearing. Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴

Hi! Was this a class 44, 45 or 46 please ? Thanks, Dana.
Hi there.
Considering the sound of the engine, it seems like it's either clas 44 or 45 🤔

Thanks, Stormdog
+bdz43r Thanks
I had asked what type of locomotive this was back in June but never heard back. Can you please tell me the type of locomotive your were riding? Thanks much, Dog
Dana Mack Just google BDZ class 44
