I love this series.
Can you please continue the sepratist alliance vs earth series please
Maybe do a video on all mandalorian ships
@@andrewcody2181 yes please a video on mandalorian production design and history is probably enough for a couple of videos.
The Scimitar was designed by Rugess Nome (Darth Tenebrous). Who was a famous master starship designer. Then it was built under direct supervision of master shipwright Raith Sienar.
The ships technology was so advanced that even thirty years later. It was one of Sidious's prized assets for hunting and killing elusive targets.
What happened to it after Ep1?
@@drewf41 For the one we see in Episode 1, I don't think we ever get an answer on that. My headcanon/thought was that maybe we'd see that in that cancelled Darth Maul game. Dooku had one, so maybe he got it.
I think some comic showed that Palpatine had his own with a unique design, but we just see it in like one panel chilling in a hangar.
I’m pretty sure the reason the Carrion Spike and Darth Maul’s Scimitar are so expensive has something to do with the ships Stygian-based cloaking systems. Stygian crystals were extremely rare even during the Clone Wars era and Aeten II was the only known source of them.
In the Star Wars RPG the Crystal alone cost 150.000.000 Cr.
@@klauswohlert3749 Which is 3 times the cost of a Victory or Venator.
Interesting fact about the Raider that I'm not sure if you know...
When you said "The Raider was also a direct competitor to the famous CR90" IDK if you knew how accurate thar actually is. For those who may not know the Raider was designed specifically to combat the CR90 in in the X-Wing miniatures game roughly 8ish years ago. FFG reached out to Lucas Film at the time asking if there were any ships roughly the size of a CR90 that looked anything like a Star Destroyer so they could add it to their game. LF responded with a no which then caused FFG to ask if they could design one because they needed a ship to go toe to toe with the CR90 which was already in the game. Since this was LF pre-disney, LF agreed. On top of that LF even proceeded to help FFG design the ship to fit into Star Wars and make the ship canon. When it was finished it was introduced to the game of X-Wing and is still to this day the most powerful huge ship in the game.
However, the story continues from here. When Dice started making BF2 they too wanted a ship close to this size to act as a home base for Inferno Squadron. This is when they found the Raider in the X-Wing Miniature game and they fell in love with it. Thus, they took the ship and added it into the game throwing it into a spotlight with a much wider audience.
As a huge fan of the X-Wing miniatures game I love the story of the Raider. The fact that something that originated from a Star Wars miniature game has become this popular is awesome.
If you're going to cruise the Galaxy, it should be in a super star yacht!
I believe the reason why so many people in SW universe travel in modified freighters is because it doesnt grab pirate/thief attention that much. This universe seem so dangerous that owners of fancy stuff are robbed unless they have good security
Galaxy Class or BUST!
5:40 the Republic Cruiser is by far the most the impressive ship. it shows great agility for the ship it's size, something that we haven't see the CR90 Corvette do. In the clone wars it was agile enough to invade turret's fire from bigger ships.
Scimitar was basically a prototype with every bit of tech on board being of the highest quality possible and often custom made. If it was mass produced the price would most likely drop 10 times if not more
Found your channel maybe 5 months ago, ive been adoring all your star wars content. Keep it up youre the best star wars channel honestly.
Next, most expensive capital ships? Then Dreadnaughts?
I love the TIE style solar panels on the Corvus. Doesn't look as cool when it's converted to a Rebel ship... Which means they were just for style not function?
I hate the ship design. "We'll just take a mini Star Destroyer and glue some TIE fighter parts on it"
@@scoutman66 fair call. I'm not sure the empire has ever had a frigate that wasnt. There's the Gozanti but that's basically a space box truck. Maybe the Arquitens but even that is like a miniature jedi cruiser
@@gregorylieber8362 The Gozanti was still widely used after the fall of the Empire because it had many good qualities that you're looking for in a freighter or a multi purpose ship. The Imperial Light Cruiser is a bigger version of its clone wars counterpart and can carry quite a bit of personnel and cargo while having considerable firepower
@@scoutman66 So a space box truck with an M60 attached to it?
@@scoutman66 Indeed, perhaps 'box truck' is too harsh but it is more transport than fire support. I can't think of another common support ship that isn't pizza shaped tho. Canon reason: Tarkin doctrine? (Big ships and cheap fighters, no in between) Real world: easier to put a new coat of paint on a classic than to be Ralph McQuarrie.. or even Doug Chiang
My dream Star Wars ship, as a kid, was the Errant Venture. Imperial Class Star Destroyers are the COOLEST ships! Especially the Mark IIs, although I would gladly give up half my ion cannon batteries for more anti starfighter protection.
As a private ship it should have been included in this list of "Yachts"
You know its a shame the Scimitar aka "Sith Infiltrator" is just rotting away in a hangar because after the prequels Palpatine took the ship and stored it away somewhere. Thats literally where the lore history for the ship ends which makes me wish that it would show back up since its a really cool ship design. Hell just imagine if it was actually the ship chosen to be mando's ship instead of the N1.
I always loved the design of the scimitar!! It's one of my favorite ship designs ever
The thing to ALWAYS remember about Theed Royal Palace Engineering Corps ships, whether talking about the N-1 Starfighter or the Diplomatic Cruiser, is that Theed Palace is never purchasing them.
Theed Palace builds them.
Theed Palace never pays for anything more than the raw materials and the daily salaries of the engineers involved in the construction, as production happens in-house entirely from start to finish.
Theed Palace also did not intend them for mass market sale. They are custom-designed for Theed Palace's use. This means quality was the exclusive word of the day and niether money nor affordability were factors of consideration in the slightest.
Which is why they are so grandly expensive: the only thing Theed Palace pays for is the raw material and the workers, meaning that 2mil credit top of the line Star Yacht probably only cost TPEC a quarter that at most, and they can be as high-quality expensive as Theed Palace wants because Theed only pays the raw materials and workers and nothing more.
The price tag is for OFFWORLDERS wanting to commission one, as they then have to pay for every level of production for every part in a way TPEC doesn't.
But you really do get what you pay for.
I love these videos based on affordability of starships. I have just gotten into the edge of the empire table top and this series has really helped me with figuring out fair pricing especially with second hand stuff. Absolutely fantastic content mate, would love to see a video on starship modifications if you are open to suggestions. Especially the hyperspace rings I can't seem to find pricing on those anywhere. Again cheers for the fantastic content mate
Whatever happened to Maul's ship from the prequel trilogies? Did anyone take it, or is it just collecting dust and rusting over from disuse?
Apparently palpatine kept it in storage
When you make it substantially cheaper to steal a ship than to buy it, you bring it upon yourself.
What about the ship Palpatine gave Cad Bane in the Clone Wars for breaking into the Jedi temple and getting a holocron?
"more expensive THAN...."
I tried building an obscure ship called the WR-542 Shooting Star using the old D20 ttrpg starship construction rules. Smaller than the Millenium Falcon, costs as much as a Raider-class. Sienar really packed this thing to the gills.
Another one from the older rpg stuff is the Arakyd Helix...aka, the ship that's smaller than the Falcon and tends to scare the crap out of Star Destroyers with it's weapon loadout...the ones with the basic loadout got it banned by the empire, and even with the stripped down "legal" version, the Empire would call for backup and start shooting at the first sign of anything.
And then there were a few that got fitted with cloaking devices, because, of course someone had that idea.
*Than
in the video "7 most affordable starfighters" you guys forgot one:
the R-41 starchaser. it was the competitor of the z-95 headhunter; brand new the R-41 cost 55,000 credits, cheaper than the TIE fighter
I'm going to say that the "Halcyon" is the most expensive ship. That thing is priced outrageously & not all that impressive.😂😁😐🙁
Took me a moment to get it but niiice 😆
Doesn't even fly. They just get some layabouts to shake the sides and make sound effects with their mouths.
Your subtle yet cutting sarcasm is without peer. Kudos, my friend, and keep it up.
If Naboo had a bigger intergalactic hand in luxury products, maybe some criminal syndicates had intervened with the trading federation blockade to still be able to get their mitts on those products and it may have changed the course of history.
So wait, Mandalorians are basically just Space Marines? I can see it now that you say it…
"Ner Vod I am pinned here"
Video on all mandalorian ships
And lesser known ships as well
These are MEDIUM class?!
I'm so poor 😂
Nice, friendly tip, there’s a typo in the thumbnail, you put “then” like time instead of “than” which is more comparative.
That’s the first thing I noticed lol
Click bait of a more sinister variety
@@galvanizedgnome not a Star Wars nerd, more of a casual fan.
Iffen ya understandin than the comunicatorin good nough grammar warriors actin like they so smarte they acta like they brain so big
@@etiennehowrey4602 yes…..
The scimitar is very very nice but...
It's to expensive
Because the lore behind it is kinda interesting
Sigh. For some reason this stuff fills me with deep contentment and happiness. Thank you!
Excellent list, but I think the Imperialis, the personal yacht of Emperor Palpatine deserved at least a mention.
Could you price a custom Royal Naboo starship replica? 3 to 4 decks. Remove the throne room. Dual rotary missile launchers. Retractable cannon turret. 8 astromech droids. Only painted silver.
With the NAU'UR class, i always thought the height was so when you were landed you always had a killer view.
Nice video can you do like a most expensive big ships
Great video.
Carrion spike is literaly "u-boot in space experience" and looks very fine but imagine 3 or 5 of then hunting down separatist ships.
So what your jedi needs.. as well as a cortosis blade.. a bit of bescar armour and some less mundane stuff is a stealth naboo ship with stealth tech and loaded with useful stuff ...
Nice video
Most expensive vessel in SW history: The Sith Scimitar Class Warbird😎
at 1:26 pause then look at the hanger on the left where the J-type lands look at the design its a gozanti i am sure
Hello there friends welcome back to another episode of Generation Tech my name is Allen
The Ewok fur had me dying 😂
I thought the coronet was a liner that served the senate, thus the statement that the senate stamp is always accepted for transit on the coronet
What happened to the voice at 8:09? Are you putting on a heavy tough man voice for the fans. :0)
Would like to see the cost of the ship in Andor at the end.
Yeah, Naboo have some of the best looking ships
There's a typo in your thumbnail
What movie is the first ship you spoke of from?
Not big on star wars lore. How much is a credit worth? Do you buy a house with it or a cheeseburger?
Than*
the scimitar is my 3rd favorite ship in all of the verse
"More expensive then star destroyer?"
More expensive. Then star destroyer?
More expensive than a star destroyer?
The Hardcell being expensive and a status symbol makes sense. Getting even halfway decent performance out of chemical rockets takes way more effort than it's worth when you have alternatives.
Not really, it's the equivalent of a wooden bow and arrow being more expensive 9mm Glock.
@@toade1583,
That too, but I stand by my point.
I love you videos
Raider is best corvette, change my mind. Though I will say the Scimitar immediately became my favorite when TPM came out in terms of medium non-starfighter ships.
The Raider reminds me of a combination of the Anaconda and the Federal Corvette from Elite: Dangerous.
850,000 credits for a yacht???? That's way way cheaper than here on earth!
What about the Sorosub Luxury 3000 space yacht???
What about the Colossus Vapid? Powered by Dung-dang extract and crusted in Veeber hair?? You can't tell me anything close comes to the expense of the extravagant product of the Dim-Sum clan. I wouldn't travel in anything less.
THAN*
This video was so helpful thanks! Now I know which star was ship to buy so I can travel to different planets while looking rich.
More expensive than... THAN! Not 'then.'
More expensive THAN a star destroyer.
in response to thumbnail - "Than"
Melee weapons and crayons so the marines can get a snack
I'm surprised the x-70b wasn't mentioned in this.. ._.
I want the eclipse as my ship . Security first
Hmm a Sith starship or a Venator star destroyer I'll take the Venator thanxs
I think a few years ago I came across a movie called Pleasure Yacht…
I'll take a Raider please. Imperial Trim
Than.
But completely Un related , in the opening scene of Book of Fett, there was a spider like robot with a brain jar, can you do a vid about that
The monks!
@@azkyoutube8708 yes!
i wonder what was a monthly wage in credits
What about starkillers ship?
Tf the Sith Infiltrator is soooooooooooo expensive lol
Yea it’s a bit much
So whatever happened to the Sith Infiltrator after Maul became two halves of himself?
@@acefalcons4903 Imagine
@@TheSuperJepphyKiller I imagined Grand Admiral Thrawn has it in his collectibles.
ThAn
totally unrelated to the video but why is it that everything in star wars, droid, sentient or animal always just dumbly looks at grenades when someone throws one instead of running away?
This needs to be dins new ship, fuck off with the naboo starfighter with the most unsecured piece of glass for our precious grogu.
This shit is expensive, Din needs to steal one to get it.
what about the slave 1?
dont get why cruisers seem to be largely weaker than corvettes and frigates
3:27 lol im actually german
Venator class costs only 50M? Thats hella low
*than
than. more expensive than.
No ship is to expensive for the dolphin empire
id buy mauls ship
I can't believe credits to dollars is one to one. A super yacht costing the same as a large house? No way.
Maintenance and operations cost is outrageous
Like boats
Not even close. Compare 60k TIE to a relatable fighter cost and maintenance expenses.
@@Euripides_Panz i dunno 150 meter long spaceship probably has lots of maintenance pop up. Not to mention fuel expenses, you thin owning a house is al sunshine and roses, then suddenly you fin yourself having to replace the AC, or the roofing. Suddenly the water heater beeds replacing and oh yeah, framing shifted and broke your sliding glass door, gotta replace that too
@@AdmiralStoicRum Most do have substantial maintenance costs. At 150m, they routinely had maintenance droids running pretty much 100 percent of the time. Larger frigates had hundreds, even thousands keeping things running, performing repairs and adjustments.
One interesting aspect of the old game Rebellion was keeping a large amount of refined resources to support specific costs for every unit you chose to build. This cost rose sharply as you expand and build a fighting force. Some units had a maintenance cost higher than their build cost. The Lancer frigate, for example had a build commitment half the maintenance expense.
How do you convert credits to dollars? Would the dollars be say... crica 1920?
Than* I’m sorry I’ll see myself out
If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
*Than* not *then*
I’m here unusually early
