      You'd be shocked at how quick you can get into shape to hauls all that crap if you're in just OK shape to start out with - The Marine Corps taught me that well over 30 years ago - Truth is this was just a "peace of mine" kind of project, reality is you don't "need" all this stuff

    Great video, thanks for showing your loadout. Good to see new videos on the Alice pack. Actually not bad for weight, being an INCH bag. I have large and medium Alice packs. I've been trying to dial in my medium Alice for years now, trying to see if I could make it into an all season pack. I like the medium better since it doesn't hang a mile off your bag behind you like the large does.Thank you for your service and for the video. Take care. 👍

    Nice video. One thing you may want to do is make a master list of everything you have and number your bags/containers so you know what's in them and when they were put in. I would check the ammunition to see if it's still good and the magazines. I'm not sure if keeping them loaded that long is good for the springs, big fan of 1911's 👍. To ensure the flashlights work, keep the batteries either out of them or have them turned upside down so the flashlight won't be accidentally turned on. Seems the INCH Bag has held up well over the years. For food, Mountain House would be very good or homemade Pemmican which the Pioneers used. I would include some Hunza bread too before bugging out. Good video again 👍

    So funny, I have harmonicas and hacky sacks in both my Bushcraft/Camping kit (Med. ALICE) AND in my truck pack (get home bag/hiking). So true about “misplaced” gear, just YESTERDAY I remembered I had a couple of those ‘Permanent Matches’ (yours was yellow) and have no idea where they are! 😅
    I have considered an INCH bag for awhile and have the ILBE + Assault pack (I was USMC ‘04-‘14) which would work great but we moved to a rural island and would probably hunker down. Semper Fi 💪

    I made a BOB with cheap gear in a 70L hiking pack a while ago and now I'm looking at all my brand new great quality gear I use once in a while and the brand new large Alice pack hanging next to the main door and finally figured it's time to upgrade my BOB like never before. Best case, it will serve to keep all my good gear together so I don't have to ask "where did I put that?"

    Instead of just a bedroll strapped to the bottom of the pack and frame, you could maybe attach the enhanced buttpack with poncho+liner inside and sleeping pad on the lower straps for the summer, or the waterproof NBC-bag or even the MOLLE sleeping system carrier for all seasons! Wow U got the Kendo scissors too? Take good care of it - made by BACHO of Sweden ;D

    Not a bad kit, maybe a bit too much redundancy but I have been guilty of that as well. Maybe delete some of that and add some premade snares and a dedicated fishing kit? I don't know you're AO so not sure if those are viable suggestions.

    • @AstroVanTribe
      @AstroVanTribe  Před 2 lety +3

      Thanks, There's a USMC USGI fishing kit in there, it's in the survival shirt I made along with snare wire - I grew up doing all that stuff with my dad who was a child soldier during the Greek civil war - Everything he taught me is exactly how it's done in the SAS Survival manual - This was something I threw together at a moment in time when I needed to do it for peace of mind - I seriously doubt I'll ever need it but at least it's there - I have SO much, SO much redundancy even with other kits on top of my kitted out 4x4 Astro van I'm in pretty good shape :)

    I know this is a year old. I see only one down fall to your inch bag. As a soldier you know what you are supposed to carry. You are missing one pair of boots. You need the ones on your feet and a pair in your pack. In my opinion i would add a grail water purification system or what we used in the military. And i prefer the stainless steel jug as well. But that is preference. Boots and socks . That is the only down fall to your bag. Well its a bit heavy but your bulky. So yea boots where out. Walk three states and you need boots. Good kit otherwise.
