    Hey Aaron, I'm thinking of applying to MSc Management at Uni Bath. I'm a huge Jane Austen fan and it's one of the reasons to choose this university. Would you recommend it for postgrad? I've compared the rankings and the league tables but I'm very confused.

    • @AaronKher
      @AaronKher  Před rokem +2

      Hey Sakshi! I have heard that the management department at Bath is good. That being said, I have no personal knowledge of management at Bath, and have only heard from BSc students. So I will not be able to give my recommendation of management at bath. However, I do recommend the university as a whole.
      I do not know what the tables say but I only use the tables as a guide instead of a deterministic answer. As they are always changing and there are multiple organisations that rank differently. However, if there is a big difference between Baths ranking and another universities ranking, and in the majority of the organisations, this may be something to pay attention to.

    Hey, what laptop do you think would be best for the CS program? I've been thinking of getting one of the new Macbook Pro M2s, but I heard that it may cause some compatibility issues with some programs(?). I am already planning on bringing my windows PC, but I need to get a laptop and I can't decide which one

    • @AaronKher
      @AaronKher  Před rokem

      I have used a MacBook for the whole of university and have had no issues. You will need to some steps differently from windows but I haven't been limited by using a MacBook.

      @@D17D If it's take home coursework I assume you'll be allowed to use whatever calculator you want but I used a standard Casio calculator (not a graphical one).

    Hey big fan of your videos! How expensive is Bath? I heard its one of the more expensive cities to live in.
    Around how much do you think it costs per month for a student living in Bath?

    • @AaronKher
      @AaronKher  Před rokem +12

      Hey Mohamed, thanks so much! Bath is one of the more expensive cities to live in, however, I would say that this only affects the accommodation prices.
      Accommodation will be the majority source of your spending. For on campus accommodation (where you will most likely stay in first year), prices can range from around £4500 to £9000 for the academic year. When you live off campus (2nd and 3rd year if studying for Bachelors), there is less of a spread. I’d say the average price per month on accommodation in the city, is within the range of £500-600 per month. This equates to about £5500-6600 for the year, since most student housing contracts are 11 months.
      Groceries are probably the second largest source of your spending, however, as I stated earlier, living in Bath won’t make your spending any different to anywhere else (for the most part). Online shopping at the major grocery stores (Sainsbury’s, Tescos, etc) is your best bet for buying affordable food. An average weekly shop can range from £30-50.
      Another source of you spending is going to events like the cinemas, restaurants, etc. This is of course very person specific so I won't try to give you a monthly estimate.
      If I were to give a rough estimate on monthly spending (including accommodation, groceries, going to events such as the cinema, eating out once in a while, etc), I would say for the average person it would range from £750-950. This range can of course be different for you depending on your personal spending habits.
      If you would like further detail or clarification, just drop another comment :).

      There are locations outside of campus where parking is free, however, these tend to be 20+ minutes away from campus.

    Why do you say, “its good for the most part”? Is it not great?

    • @AaronKher
      @AaronKher  Před 9 měsíci

      What I meant was is that I think it is really good overall. It is of course not perfect so has areas that its good but also has areas that its not good. But there are more good things then bad things.
