In today's video, I'll be going over a long overdue discussion of everything that I've done to the 240SX so far. As I'm mentioned, this is a restomod project. I'm restoring and modifying this car to preserve some of that original character, but enhancing and modernizing it to create something truly unique! Throughout this video, I'll not only be explaining where I'm currently at, but what you can expect as we go through 2018. First and foremost, you should start seeing more content surrounding this car. Last year was a tremendous learning experience full of trials and tribulations. PLUS, we finally get an update on the engine (RB25DET) that'll be swapped into the car sometime in the coming months (fingers crossed). One thing's for sure, I've learned fast that it's almost impossible to stick to a time schedule with these things. Thank you for your support so far! I hope you all enjoy the video and I hope it is helpful for those of you who have been loyally following this series, I am so grateful!

Thank you Michael! :)
A 240SX video? Today was a good day.
Cameron Cruz ok ice cube
:)
Kyle, i love your videos. Im a huge car guy, and your gentle videos always help me relieve stress. Thanks for the content
Thank you for watching!
Whats intriguing about this project seeing the build in-depth a-z! The enthusiasm of an old school car being modernised! Much appreciated your time editing and thorough planning 👍🏼
Thank you so much!
It’s really is almost like a brand new car! At least it appears so for now! You never know with older cars! Another great video Kyle!
Thanks William!
There's a guy on eBay that sells Type X tail light harness adapters that plug into your stock wiring. That's what I did so I didn't have to cut any OEM wiring.
YES, I will definitely be buying some of those.
Gimme the Link for it please I’ll appreciate it bro
Wow Kyle i can't believe it's been a year, you've done a lot behind the scenes getting those parts together it looks like a lot of work. I do love the S13, but for a few years now i've been hankering for a really nice S12. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Dan!!
This keeps me motivated on my project car! -1985 Mazda RX-7
tallbozo That's so cool to see another FB Build! Good luck my bro, rotaries are a money pit, i really want to build a 1997 Nissan 240SX and RB26 swap it, and do a restomod on it like Kyle is, just a matter of affording it
So cool!! Best of luck my friend!
Saabkyle04 Thanks Kyle! Can't wait to see the outcome of this absokute beauty!
Wassup Kyle. I just wanted to tell you how you impacted my life. I first found your channel when I was 14 and back then I wasn’t that much of a car enthusiast but as I started watching your videos I actually turned into one. (I didn’t have a CZcams account at that time btw) I actually still remember my first video I watched from your channel it was a 2014 grand Cherokee review. And after 2 years of watching your videos I finally decided to buy a mustang GT 2015 :) after crashing one of my other cars (luckily no one was hurt). I think I actually found the best CZcams channel ever :D.
YES! Those are the taillights I love on these cars. Since I saw a black 180 in a japanese magazine with volk gold alloys and those red tails I've loved this car. Thx for the vid, keep up the good work!

Thanks for watching!
Damn. This is what I dreamed of in the early 2000's. I never had the funds though. I'm really liking where you're taking this build. Very classy.
always detail and consistent glad to see, in your zone
The detailed reviews are the amonst the best. The 240 videos are incredibly interesting and for sure refreshing as other car builds have unlimited budgets and miss the realness most people experience. Keep up the awesomeness.
Thanks a lot Tom!
We really like the project car content!
Lots more coming!
Your positive attitude always cheers me up
I can't wait! Love s13's, especially yours, since you're restoring it.
Thanks Leo!
You sir, have gone right down the restoration rabbit hole. Bravo! A big undertaking to be sure, but it's great to see you work on cars as well as review them.
Yessir, that's the truth haha, thanks for the support!
Best project car on CZcams, love the attention to detail. Keep it up Kyle!
Thank you for your support!!
Nice!! Your content and production quality has certainly carried over from your review videos to this series!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you Robert!!
Very nice my man. You are living the dream! Love the 240SX, you are exactly building it like I would do.
Thanks a lot!!
Your doing a great job working on the 240SX. The car is now in much better shape than it used to be. That Nissan Armada is very nice. Back in the fall we just got a new 2017 Nissan Armada Platinum and I love it. Our Armada has a grey exterior with a black leather interior. We were originally going to get a Toyota Sequoia but it was not big enough to pull our new camper. We got a full size body on frame suv because we got a new camper and it’s huge. Our camper is the Mallard M26. I did go to the 2018 Auto show in Boston and I checked out the new platinum reserve trim level for the Armada. I noticed the Platinum reserve is a little more fancy than the regular Platinum. The one I checked out had a maroon exterior with the same color interior. I even checked the Infinity QX80 and it the same thing as the Armada accept it’s more luxurious and more high quality.
Very cool man, thanks for sharing!
Looks and sounds great, looking forward to seeing the vids of it all now 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
I love project car videos Kyle
You earned my sub as soon as you revealed the type x stuff
Fantastic update video on the 240SX restomod!
Can't wait for more 240SX videos...

Saabkyle04 No problem, buddy! (^_^)
I appreciate your gratitude.
Love it keep up with good vids 💪😁
Keep it up,keep it going.
So exciting!!!!!
Hell yes, I told you I'd watch this later. Now is the perfect time brother!
Hi what the name of the fan in the background of your video in your garage?
🤔 I wonder what would happen after 3 years. Anyway, I love how this project’s going. Gratz, Kyle!👍🏻
Preciate the support!
Really enjoying this series! It's nice to see an actual 240sx build that doesn't involve hacking the car to bits. Keep up the good work!
Thanks pal, I appreciate that!
So freaking happy that you are doing a full type x conversion!!!!
Me too! :)
What was the website where you got all the seals? Im currently looking for seals for mine.
Hyped!
Forged parts!!! Lit 🔥🔥
Great vid... Thanks for sharing
The attention to detail and cleanliness of this build are inspirational
Thanks buddy!
Can’t wait for this 240 to come together, hopefully I’ll see you driving it around NC
I'm sure you will at some point! Thanks pal!
Really makes me wanna wrench. Honestly cannot wait to see how your 240 turns out!
Me too! I'm really trying to make some progress happen over the next couple of weeks!
Can’t wait for more content!
Wait so what engine is going in it a sr or a rb ??
I like the direction you're taking the 240 - looks great and will be very unique!
Thanks Scott, I think so too!
always heard great things about this company!
Thanks Kyle. Made my day.
Thank you!!
Yeah buddy! Your car is going to be incredible! I approve 10,000%!!!!
Thanks Jacob!
I'll take your 240sx when it's done
Thanks bro
Great update video! You have good taste.
Thanks man!
I cant wait for the next video
You got a lot of skill !
Load the OPTi video we progress in the past year looking forward to this year and the rest of the updates going to be a sick car when it’s done
Great project, fantastic detail!
Thank you!!
Love the build series!! Ive been chomping at the bit to see more videos. When are the rest of the rear end rebuild videos coming out?
Just uploaded the last part of the differential rebuild. I'm working on the others right now! Thanks bud!
If i did a build this is how i would do it. You the man!
Thanks bud!!
I'd love more content of your builds as you're talking about; however, I still love your reviews as they're copacetic in their consistency, which allows the viewers a more realistic idea of what the vehicle is really like. thanks for the videos, cheers! Matt in Avl
Thanks buddy, I'll have more of a mix of everything as time goes on :)
Keep up the good work bro👍
Thanks man!
Where did you buy your bumpers?
love you kyle
What happened to the viper?? Do you still have it? Would love to see some more content on it if so
I'm really enjoying this project !!! BRAZIL !!!
Thank you Gustavo!!
howä?
Also u need the 180sx quarter panel glasses that’s has the 180sx on it👌🏿
RB25luvGT35R whats the difference?
Matija Graho no different just the badges
I know! They're super hard to find, plus you need to find them with the weatherstrip already on them and in good condition. You can't buy it separate :(
Saabkyle04 not worth it in my opinion
Anyone else think of fast and furious 1 when he showed all the parts!?
Also as a, fellow S13 hatch owner these videos have been great and extra relatable. Even though I don't have the budget you have, you've inspired me to complete my vision for my car. Like you said sometimes it'll take longer to get it done but it'll be worth it in the end.
Yessir, you got that right! Thank you so much, best of luck with your project!
Love this Older cars are much better built than todays plastic cars
Happy birthday 240SX fast back
Type x body are sick!
Hey Saab what’s the part number for the sunroof weather strip!
I don't remember it right off, but if you go to Nissanpartsdeal.com, you can find it along with pricing and diagrams!
Overall Engine rebuild and swap cost?
Reminds me of the car from the original robo cop that gets blown up what was it’s name? 2000 SUX?
Great to see all the progress!! If you end up needing help again you should definitely bring Charles back 🤘🏼
Charles is awesome, he's always willing to help, such a great guy!
Where did you find the brochure?
Ebay
Kyle you should give Chris from B is for Build a call and tell him what to do with his rx7. You're taste is that of a gentleman from Napa Valley.
Hey Kyle, just a suggestion, if you haven't already maybe you could post some pictures on CZcams since they have that feature now. It would help the few of us that aren't on Instagram to keep up with your progress in between videos.
Either way keep up the great work. Your exceptional work ethic is mind boggling at times. 😊
Thank you bud! I will check that out!
Awesome kyle! I was hoping you would do type x. My rb25 s13 is almost taking the same path, it will be getting tuned on March 7th and then I have a full type x kit to install along with paint. I like the "Resto-mod" style as that's the same style I'm aiming for as well!
Sick! That sounds so cool man, best of luck!
Thanks kyle! Keep on keeping on.
Do you have a clear wrap for paint protection
I will probably do something with XPEL later down the line, we'll see how things go.
😮
When your done with your engine how many horsepower will it have
Dude this whole build process has made me want to get a Silvia now ugh one day
They're great cars, you'd love it!
i love these videoss goddamn
Can you please do a start up on a 2016 Toyota Tacoma trd offroad
I can't believe you have owned the 240 for a year and I have watched every single video you have made on the 240
Thank you Jonathan!
That varsity jacket is fire as hell.
Dude, I love that thing haha, it's a Gumball 3000 jacket I got a while back, so nice!
I like where you are going with this.
Whenever someone tells me they are turning their 240 into a drift car what I hear is them saying "I'm going to spend a year building it just to send it to a junkyard a few months later"
Thanks Adam!
Peep the turbo box👀
Wonder how much he put into this car so far.. haha what a great life Kyle has!
Way too much haha. This is my first real investment into content for this channel. We'll see how it pays off in the long run, but it's certainly opened a lot of new doors and I'm so thankful for it! Plus, even though it's stressful at times, it's so much fun! I have a legitimate goal to work towards. It's far more fulfilling than just doing car reviews!
Saabkyle04 awesome haha
Bringing the 240’s parts in a new Nissan Armada makes the most sense.
Haha yeah man, it was perfect timing.
cant wait for more 240 videos 1 a week would be awesome
I wish that were possible haha, it would be awesome!
Aren't you supposed to do the suspension after the engine swap?
The suspension needed a lot of work. It's a good idea to fortify the car and get the chassis/suspension in order so it can handle more power.
Saabkyle04 I just figured the new engine would throw off the weight balance. So you do the suspensions after the new engine
But yea. I guess the suspension was really bad hahah
On yeah, it was awful haha. After the engine is swapped, I can have the car properly corner balanced.
So hype for this! Who's gonna help you with the swap?
Not sure yet. I really want to attempt it myself, but not having experience, it would be a big undertaking. The humble mechanic (Charles) has been super helpful. My wife and I will be moving soon to start building a house out in the country. I already have a shop I'm working on so I can have it ready to continue this and other project related content. I'll have some videos talking about all of that soon probably.
Saabkyle04 Nice man!
Are u gonna do a body kit like what THAT DUDE IN BLUE has done to his 240. also what about a steering angle kit not so much for drifting but to eliminate that crappy front suspension.
My brother has a 89 240sx coupe, he's fully restored it like you have with all new everything, but he went with a ls3 swap lol he's got probably 28 to 30k in it over 6 years haha
what turbo you got?
I can't remember the name exactly, but it's a Garrett GTX Gen 2, if my memory serves me correct. It's good for 350-650 or so hp.
I have a shark front with a pignose lip right now... I need opinions sooooo should I get a pignose for $30 and color match it to my car and put the lip on or buy another mod before IA (IMPORT ALLIANCE)
If you car is a '91 or newer, I'd leave the sharknose, otherwise, the pig nose is still pretty sweet. Might be more trouble than it's worth to swap and paint it.
Saabkyle04 thanks a lot man
Hey kyle it would be brilliant if you could put a new camshaft inside your new rb.
I'm going to stick with the factory cams for now and possibly do a separate head build later on. Better to put that money elsewhere for now.
Like ur videos alot.
Do more older cars most of us can afford again, 10k-20k budget is where the views are at
im thinking more like $2-$5K
Stuff like that just isn't worth it anymore, sad to say because I loved to do that. youtube is a very different space now, it's hard to gauge what will do well and what won't.
Saabkyle04 Thanks for the reply, I know you hear it all the time but you made my day a little better, and so far today sucks. What I mean is that what attracted me to the channel is the in-depth reviews, best on YT btw, of cars 5 to 10 to even 15 years old that are affordable but some are still comparable performance or luxury cars. I see that the landscape here changes and I'll stick around as best I can, I do appreciate your style and content so just keep doing what you are doing and we'll keep coming back.
Type X body kits are nice they just super expensive lol
Yes they are haha
Please review Infiniti Q60
I haven’t been all too active on this channel, but, do you still have the Ford Thunderbird?
He gifted it to his mom, if I'm not mistaken.
Aww, what a kind thing to do, way to go, Kyle.
That was Chrisfix haha, we sold our thunderbird at the end of 2016. I really don't vlog a lot so things like that often slip through the cracks haha.
Saabkyle04
Aw, ok, cool, well thanks for the update, and keep up the terrific work!
Hey Kyle! What happened to the viper? Did you sell it? What the hell is going on?!
If you watch my update video from December 1st, I go over that and more. I ended up selling it. Too much money to have in one car that has no functional benefit aside from going fast lol.
Did you sell it to make room for the 240SX?
Time stamp 16:22
"It's not going to be that hard."
My God the CONFIDENCE!!!!!
