Also, by making him second, they give him "space" to grow, and a goal to strive for. Next week, we get into groups, and there are a couple of dynamics I'd love to see: Haru and Yu have already worked together before (Team Jet Black), so we know they'll be strong together. But add in Eiji and we have an even more powerful ensemble. Ken has worked with Seita before, so I think they'll be okay, especially if they can get Sodai out of his funk. Interesting that Tomoya gets Taiga - may the Tomoya magic can rub off of him, eh? Finally, a li'l addition to my previously discussed "Routes". I've replied this to a comment made regarding the Yuna route - I think Akari deserves her own: Had tremendous potential and stroved to smash the competition, everybody expected her to make it - but she somehow didn't. Does anybody end up going this way? Guess we'll wait and see...
I suspected they wanted to emphasize Yu’s growth, which I can totally see why. I do also think they want to keep pushing Tomoya while giving him room to grow. There’s a tremendous amount of potential in those two alone. It’s going to be very interesting to see more of the dynamics between the members. I’m terrified of anyone going the route of not making it… ahhh still so much more to go 😅
Tomoya is just the best... But I completely get why he got second place here. I mean second place is still a big achievement and I guess they didn't want the same person to win every single time and Yu was definitely great and deserved to rank high. He just needs to gain a little bit confidence. Same goes with Taiga... I think the fact he's the longest trainee there really gets to his head. I have seen some comment (sorry, don't remember by who and where I saw it) that it seems like Taiga kinda sabotages himself. He's already disappointed he didn't make his debut for such a long time that he just doesn't believe he will make it this time either so he overthinks everything and doesn't give it the best effort. Because if it doesn't work out, he can then at least say that he didn't give it his all. And after rewatching this season already a couple times through reactions, I must say I agree with that comment. Anyway, I'm really excited for the next episodes. The team missions are always my favorite. But I definitely feel that they don't build the teams very fairly. I mean... The Yu, Haru and Eiji team is without a doubt a powerhouse. There's not a single badly rated member. On the other hand, I definitely feel like they put Tomoya in a team with a lower rated members on purpose. We have already seen that Tomoya was able to help Ken and Seita gain not just one but two cubes at once when he was in the leader role so I think they want to see if he can do the same with other members aswell, with Taiga especially. PS: 18:23 Oh, and about clinging Yuhi and Tomoya? I know, they're so freaking cute, right?! Do you remember the very first episode and Tomoya's audition? They were showing old photos of him and the girls from NiziU and while rewatching I realised that one photo had another little boy there and I'm pretty sure it was Yuhi! These boys litteraly grew up together in the JYPE dorms. Oh, this comment got long. Sorry about that! 😆

The improvement is so astonishing when they really put their minds to it.. I’ll keep saying it, they are so young, and so far from home and then to be tested like this. I don’t know how they will come out unscathed. I bent my poor husband’s ear off yesterday talking about the extreme sacrifice these young people go to through to have an idol’s career, especially the ones who succeed. Cannot wait to watch the next episode with you! ❤

i think what taiga is going through is the same thing as gina, they look better in a group than they does in a group and they had this pressure being the most trained

Yu got first place because of jyp's mentality and what he values the most (improvement > constantly doing good). Moya was fantastic of course, but I actually agree with jyp on this one (weirdly). Second place is still REALLY good though! I think Haru and Eiji deserved a higher rank. Haru maybe 3rd and Eiji top 5, but again, jyp is giving more value to improvement which is very understandable. This way the boys who weren't getting the best results but have developed their skills can feel more motivated to do even better by seeing their hard work being recognized. :) About next episodes: yes, team yuharueiji is going to be very, very interesting. Don't know if you noticed but the maknaes (yuhi, yuki and miraku) are also in the same team which I think is so cute.

I feel like (again- and you won’t convince me otherwise) MNET loves to highlight the tension, even if it means they overplay the drama.. also…i know nothing about JYP other than what i have seen thru SKSS, A2K, and Nizi1 … and I have no idea what it takes to run a K-pop company. …but.. (and plz don’t come for me JYP fans) .. i feel like he doesn’t have set standards for all. His placements seem to have higher “end-objectives” rather than just judging the round.. ie.. like Tomoya and Yu.. I agree that Tomoya warranted first placed, but now maybe JYP can judge how Tomoya will do in second place?, how Yu will do in first place? , as well as, how others will do in their ranks?. (Just ~ as i feel like the heartbreak cutting of LeeKnow and Felix was an unfair test for Chan). That was Stay torture.. I say this with a mama‘s heart… I hate to see these boys struggling .. even if it’s what JYPE feels it takes ~ to be put under the kind of pressure that they must be under as a group later on. Tomoya reminds me of Nayoung (Nayonce) of Twice. They both are great singers, dancers, performers and SUPER GOOFBALLS!
