Looks cool but i feel like you've turned it into a dust and dead skin trap. Cleaning must be a pain.
The more dust/dead skin the better the connection with the hand. Having a clean grip comes second to having a dependable defense weapon and the grip can be cleaned instantly with a toothbrush and some water.
