These Death interviews have earned you a sub my man.
Chuck is missed terribly. What a titan.

ITP is my favorite DEATH album to this day, and Andy's leads have a lot to do with that. Chuck was a master at pulling together the best of the best to help bring his visions to the next level. Chuck was bigger than death metal.

Agree 100%. ITP is my favorite Death album as well. It’s such a sick record. Some people don’t like it because it was the “transitional” record, but it was THE best transition the band could’ve made at that time. Symbolic and SOP are also amazing, but ITP just absolutely nails everything perfectly.

@@sadboi7537 I agree. There's just something about it. It's the perfect blend of that early emerging death prog, but still had those low end speed riffs from the early days. It's aging like a fine wine. Overactive Imagination is my favorite opener, and arguably my favorite Chuck solo.

Good stuff. I'm so very glad I met Chuck in 95.
I love individual thought patterns. What a great album.
And as the great guitarist himself, Andy, said, Chuck is very much missed in the metal community.

I remember loving individuals thought patterns for a long time and not realizing Andy was doing the solos until years later. It’s probably my favorite death album, the perfect mix of their earlier aggression with their more modern progressive side.
Also, trapped in a corner is a top 5 all time solo part to me. The transitions are insane.

Absolutely, only Death song that comes close solo-wise on tone change and Chuck vs. Comrade is Perennial Quest. I can't tell which is better prolly Perennial but Andy's leads are just too good. Godly vibrato and phrasing

Love that the most common thing in these interviews relating with Chuck that no matter who he asked to help ( from a lot of differs people ) with his next vision of his albums that Chuck said basically wanted each guy to do his own thing and each guy was able to contribute and make something really unique.

Phenomenal track but Andy's solo on that is one of my biggest rock/metal virtuoso inspirations on par with Bark At The Moon or Painkiller as far as god tier solos go, a lot of the greats pale in comparison but that's just imo
