    AJ, thanks for answering my emails this past spring regarding this sled. I took your advice and I bit the bullet and ordered the BCXRS. I hope I like it. Ironically, I picked mine up and it has a recall already... seems like all manufactures are prone to this. Regardless, the Assault has been my favorite sled to date and I switch between Doo and Poo every year hoping this brings many smiles this winter. I still can't believe the garbage Doo puts out for a GPS system, it will be last in the industry with AC new gauge coming out. This is an important feature for us as every week we ride in new locations and I know heading into the season it's going to be the biggest disappointment for me. Cheers to putting out great content!

    Just picked mine up 2 weeks ago. 146 2”. Only gripe is I couldn’t order the shot with the 10.25 screen. Summits and freerides you are able to order the combo together but not BC. BC always seem to be on the back end for anything skidoo and I would argue all day they are the best sled skidoo makes.

    Would like to see Doo offer multiple color combos like Polaris does instead of just the all black or "whatever color combo we chose for you this year". Tempted to try a Backcountry one of these years but as a primarily trail rider I think I'd rather try an Assault instead since it doesn't have a narrower ski stance like the Backcountry does.

  • @hermitrob5481

    Still the mountain front end. Man I thought for sure they'd address that this year. Poo eating their lunch in the crossover market even with the recalls (that are no big deal. In and out no charge). Until they redesign the front end staying with Assault all day long. Wicked nice sled though. Doo build quality the best.

  • @PistolT
    @PistolT Před 8 měsíci +2

    What do you think? - Will 129 go the way of the 121/120 and disappear? I can see a time when 137 and 146 with a 42" stance is trail (based on Assault reviews and 137 becoming the trail standard these days), 146 and 154 with 39" stance is crossover (based on BC and RIOT), and 146+ with 34-36" stance is powder. Seems like a natural progression in track lengths and applications.

    I don't have any complaints about the brake system on my '22 backcountry X. It feels similar to my old 2006 mxzx 550f with the factory Brembo brake. Sold that to my brother a couple of years ago with over 10,000 miles on it and no rebuilding of the engine. Runs just like the day I picked it up. It was the 1st sled I snow checked. Update: I just looked at my brakes on my backcountry X and It says Brembo on the caliber. No wonder why it feels the same as my old sled. Again, I'm happy with the Brembo brake system.

    Yea I'm happy another snowmobile that's fantastic how about the snowmobile manufacturers start making an affordable stripped down sled. Not gonna pay 15 grand for something that sits for 9 months out of the year if you're lucky. Once again everything's made for the few and none for the many.

      Windshields, just like on board storage, have quickly become "must have" accessories for the entire industry. Now lighting seems to heading in the same direction. Its pretty crazy. Manufacturers sure love selling more necessities AFTER the purchase of the sled.

      @PistolT Před 8 měsíci

      Or maybe the mxz should be offered in 146... Or Poo should go vr1/xc 146 and move the assault to 39" adjustable. 39 inch stance is why I purchased a 24 bc X. Currently on a Pro-s and call it a pocket rocket... But I wanted something to tip easier in the fluff...😊

    • @nsa6790
      @nsa6790 Před 8 měsíci +1

      I disagree. The whole idea of the backcountry is to be a good 50/50 sled. Not great at trail and not great at off trail. If they copied poo and made it a trail width front end then all you’re doing is making a long track trail sled. All of your fun playfulness goes out the window the closer you go to trail specs.

    • @bedlambikes
      @bedlambikes Před 8 měsíci

      @@nsa6790 without a 42 front end its not going to be a good 50/50 sled. More like a 30/70 sled. I guess it depends on where your priorities are. If my priorities leaned in off trail playfulness, I'd go Freeride 146 because either way, your not hammering corners on a trail anyways. Always a interesting debate no doubt!

      Of course you can follow a mxz or an Assault if you are a skilled rider. I ride with my friends on Lynx rave on the trail one day och go exploring with another friend who has a Freeride the next day. Thats the good thing with the Bc Xrs.
