Here are a few more recent jj creations with covers from my beloved vintage books. More photos here: www.flickr.com/photos/mystica... Thanks for watching!
Very cool idea to bind with the 2 holes to preserve frail books and to even save the spine inside the junk journal. I love how you do use every kind of paper inside the journal also.
What a neat idea to use the cookie packaging, it shows you can use anything & everything! Mine are always too bulky, but I don't mind. Your two journals are both fantastic, thanks for sharing. Debbie :)
These are awesome. They would make fabulous gratitude journals where you write down 3 things per day for which you are grateful. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love these. Such a great idea. I am glad you incorporated the spines. I can't get to my library's book sale, it is in the basement with no elevator, but you make we wish harder that I could. Your color choices are wonderful.
If anyone has a suggestion I’m all ears because I have a standard 5in 3ring binder I would like to use & sectioned into these topics 1) daily personal journal 2) art journal 3) a commonplace program even a research area 4) quotes & whatever else I come up with. I know many people keep a journal for one specific thing however I wanted to try one binder for this.
It sounds like a great idea. You could fill each section with suitable base papers for each particular journaling type (such as artist paper, lined, etc.), add pretty tabs or dividers. And when a section is full you can remove the pages and start again. Happy crafting!
Go with your cat plis 😟 ah,i don't speak english but i learn something in the school. I'm mexican. I love your proyects. Thanks a lot. And thaks for the traduccion ❤🇲🇽
How I miss that sweet cat, she died in my arms some years ago. A joy to he around, her name was Paisley 😊. She wanted cuddles so we had lots as soon as the video was done recording. Thank you for your kind comment. Happy crafting xo
Question please. I did my first ring journal recently… and something went a muck… I put eyelets on all my pages and the cover.. but it just doesn’t flow and turn right. Any suggestions?
The eyelets on the pages probably make it harder to flip through. I only use them to decorate the cover. Perhaps the rings need to be larger (in circumference) but also thin enough to go through the eyelets loosely? I hope that helps. And don't forget that making journals is a journey of trials and errors and often happy accidents. Have fun exploring techniques and materials and learn what works. ❤️
+EphemerasGarden thank you, i ordered 1 1/2 and some 2 inch and the 2mm elastic cording, i have a huge supply of old books and will be making some junk journals soon, love your ideas
+DebbieB259 Fantastic, I hope you'll share them. You can share projects and inspire others on my new journal site www.vintagejunkjournals.com Hope to see you there!
That French book has a lovely cover! Where did you get the eyelets?? I've been needing eyelets like that but couldn't find any. I have some vision issues so searching is very difficult for me. I would love a link to where you got yours. Did you install them using a wrmk cropodile? Thanks in advance for the help. :)
Thanks so much for responding. The link doesn't bring them up for me and neither did searching for them, but the product number really helps. Thanks so much.
Thank you for sharing your vintage jjournal with binder rings and kept the original book cover. Awesome, beautiful work!

what size snap rings did you use, i have some old books that would be great for this type project, thanks
+DebbieB259 These are 1 1/4" but you can go as big as you want depending on how many pages you want to add. This book is about an inch thick :)

Hi, thank you! Here's a link to the wide eyelets, I used the Crop-a-dile to set them: amzn.to/2FExMt4
