    Morning Tina, thank you for another brilliant idea. I have never thought to doing a ring bound journal, and I DO have rather a lot of them. I am now definatley going to be making one. Thank you for your inspiration. Can't wait to see how your journal progresses. Keep well and safe. Blessings and hugs. Diana

    Oh Tina, I’m delighted you’re starting a ring bound journal! My absolute favorite! I’ve been using cereal box covered with scrapbook paper but I think I’ll use my old 12x12 sheets that I don’t like. Great idea. Collaged page is genius. I’m always thinking maybe I should be making “real” journals with a lot of pages but I always include a lot of writing space. Ring bound gives you so much more scope. Made it chunky? Use bigger rings!Cant wait to see yours.

    Thanks Tina, I had bought some chipboard and rings specifically for this type of journal for the outside cover. I didn't know what I was going to use for the inside pages. This is a great idea for it, and easy to do.
    You always come up with something I can use that is convenient, I may even do some mixed media throughout the pages for a little contrast. 🏷️✒️📒

    Hi Tina, these are great ideas for pages in ring bound journal. The envelope and the collage idea are brilliant! I’ve only made one ring bound journal and I feel like it’s a bit hard to turn the pages. So I’m interested to see how you continue on with this journal to see what I may have done wrong with the one I made. Have a great rest of your day. Hugs 🤗

    "If you're thinking, 'well, that doesn't look very good so far...'" We aren't thinking that! We are thinking how creative you are and how lovely it is that you share all this inspiration with us. Don't worry, any of us who have ever collaged anything know that what it looks like in the middle is not the same as it looks when it's finished. We have confidence in you that it's going to come out great--which is why we all keep coming back for more. (I don't know why, just felt like I needed to give you that little pep talk today. I just dug out some ring binders because I want to start a mini junk journal. I came across your video and pulled out some 12 x 12 papers and card stock which I will cut down to “mini” size. I think for the lighter weight papers, I will just put a sheet of card stock in the middle rather than using up my collage papers. Can’t wait to keep following you for more ideas.

I certainly have scrapbook paper that I could use for a project like this; plus, it would be fun to make one. Well , this blows my original idea right out of the water LOL I am planning on making a Family Journal complete with history and photos and ephemera from the past all included to record the history of my Moms family , I had a album in mind.... BUT this Album makes way more sense and lets me use what I already have in my long acquired stash . I want to make it Victorian style because the family goes back to the 1800.s. Example My Grandfather was born in Brixton in 1888 same time as the Ripper murders . ( I live in Canada btw .) then he moved to the US and Married my Canadian Grandmother . I also need to Journal alot with the photos as there are stories I need to include with the photos as most of the living relatives never knew them . Stories that I was told over the years as well as I am the only one in the family that knows the most . Very funny considering I'm the adopted one LOL . QUESTION should I use some of the Original photos to the book OR scan and print all the photos ? ( I HAVE TONS of photos ) ( I am going to scan most anyways to preserve them )

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  Před 3 lety +1

    loved this, but do you leave any pages plain to write /journal on? for those who want more writing spaces? I am actually doing a writing journal for a friend who ordered one, so we are using regular writing papers, with light stenciling, because she wants it strickly for writing in it at night...kind of a naked journal, no tags, but she liked idea of pockets here and there, and it's a real challenge planning it...but it will help me learn and grow. It is going into a 3 ring bound cookbook. ...Great video Tina, very helpful thanks

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  Před 3 lety

      Thank you Karen. What I like to do is mix in say about 10 pages (which is then 20 sides) of plain pages for writing on. So then there is plenty of journal space and also lots of pretty pages too. Sounds like you are doing a great job for your friends journal, it sounds like quite a challenge , but will make a great cookbook, I am sure she'll love it x

    Do we need to use hole reinforcements so the pages/ holes won't tear ? Or does this thickness help with that? This video was so helpful!

    • @jenniehansen5855
      @jenniehansen5855 Před 3 lety

      Also, may I ask what glue you use? Seems like mine makes the papers wrinkles, maybe I'm using too much glue?

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  Před 3 lety +1

      I do normally add those little hole reinforcers, but it's more for aesthetic reasons rather than actually reinforcing. The thicker paper really is quite sturdy. Also with regards to the glue, I am using Anita's Tacky Glue, this would often cause the paper to wrinkle, but again because of the thicker paper it avoids that problem x
