Great character
Absolutely, I always found Helen and Karla more likeable and engaging than Julie. It bugs me a little bit that she's the final girl. Ray is also a wet rag.
@@uniquerebeljaney3639lol l like Julie but she was whiny and truly a damsel in distress and didn’t exhibit the kind of fight and strength that final girls like Laurie Strode, Nancy Thompson, & Sidney Prescott did. IKWYLS & its sequel are definitely instances where the “best friend” upstaged the final girl.

If they’re seriously making sure Julie James is the key to the story, then I will be happy with whatever they come with. It’s nice to hear a movie that’s honouring legacy, without erasing characters entirely.
How exciting. Who would have thought this movie may have just sneaked up and stole Scream’s thunder?
With Scream VI and Thanksgiving 2023 slaying, we are definitely bringing back the 90s teen slasher vibe.
Don’t forget the strangers new trilogy being released in may!. More 80s slasher vibes but still slasher! I feel we lost great slasher movies for like a decade maybe more but they are slowly returning
I mean it all started with halloween 2018. If we're talking about legacy sequels, halloween did it first. (Unless there are other movies that did it before)

She's a female character, she'll be fine. It's FPJ's character that you need to worry about, especially given the actor's hyper-SJW views. He'll gladly be a bumbling idiot, apologising for being the TRUE cause of all of Julie's problems and will be killed off unceremoniously after contributing nothing to the story.
@@TheAmateurEditor Well, he IS the cause of her suffering, he was the one driving, and I don't really remember him even acknowledging that in the first movie whenever Julie was blaming herself even though she was the only one with a concience. So yeah, I definitely would like to see him talking about that a little, because Ray was by far and away the most uninteresting of the 4 in the original.

I can't wait for this! I watched the first two films so many times as a kid but was obviously way too young to see them at the cinema so I'll be there opening night for this one!

Well, its not common anymore to include chase scenes in modern slashers. Best example scream 5.
Scream 6 did somehow include at least a little bit of chase, but we didnt get any iconic chase since the early 2000s
Halloween brought us 3 movies and non of them had a chase scene.

Have a group of new characters discussing the events of the first and second movies mirroring the opening of the first movie when the gang discuss the fisherman myth on the beach. Have the new characters connected to the original characters and the fisherman targets them.
I thought for sure that Julie and Ray where dead, because his ghost appears under Julie's bed, and Julie and Ray are never seen when the Fisherman's ghost is resurrected by Amber and her friends in Colorado when their pact to conceal the fact that their prank that killed a friend of theirs, conjured up his vengeful spirit to terrorize all of them on the 4th of July in 2006.
I wonder if Julie knows that she'll have to use his own hook to defeat him?
I highly doubt they'll keep the third movie as canon. The first 2 didn't have any sort of supernatural element to it, and honestly the third wasn't very well-received. They'll probably say the scene from 2 where he's under the bed was another nightmare, like the shower scene at the end of 1.
I would love for this to happen they need to bring Brandy's character back too cuz she survived too...Since the killer obviously coming back I think they should let him go after Julie's and Ray's kids and Carla's kids for revenge. They kids go to the same college and the Killer tracks the kids down there and goes after them and the killer contacts Julie and says I got ur kids or something like that but her Ray and Carla links up together and go save they're kids. They're kids will be at a summer college bash party or something. Idk just brainstorming but I'll be so happy to see them 3 again.

I hope they go back to the original location and what makes the movie great. The vibe, the chase scenes, the build up. I hope they do better Justice to the original. That the original character and final girl Julie is the main character again, makes me hyped
In the original screen play for IKWYDLS 3, the killers were Ben Willis and his son’s gf.. so maybe they will try that

I actually had a great idea for it.. I think a murderer trying to kill a group of teenagers for a reason of their own uses the story of the fisherman and what happened to Julie as a cover.. basically copycats it to get away with their own crimes.. it would drag Julie in because she would obviously think the fisherman is back.. obviously I think someone who is being hunted will get in touch with her and she will be mixed in.
Sounds like a story that doesnt need Julie at all.
I think she will be directly related to whatever happens.

Could be a possibility. Or someone from the past takes revenge on her or her child, bcs this person is friended with julies child and is also related to the family of the Fisherman and goes on a killing spree as sort of revenge
It probably wouldn't work in the way these movies are, but, it would be awesome if they could actually add a supernatural element to it ! You know what I'm saying? Cause I know what I'm saying 😎

If Sony is behind this I don’t think the pitch is as extraordinary as everyone is saying. I bet it’s just some simple shit like the main two characters have kids in high school, who are targeted by someone who knows what their parents did - or some bullshit.

I'm thinking Julie has a family and they are being targeted. It's weird if they don't bring Freddie Prinze Jr back. While I would be fine if they kept "Still" cannon they don't need it if it makes the story easier to do. Also the actor who played Ben Willis is still alive and acting so if they go off the first one only he could come back.

The first movie was pretty good, but other than that, this franchise has been pretty weak. Hopefully, they do a better job with the new one. IKWYDLS franchise is nowhere close to the Scream franchise.

I absolutely agree with you! One of the main reasons I was able to enjoy I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, was the way the movie handled Julie’s survivor’s guilt. I adore Scream but I have always felt that the franchise suffers from a lack of acknowledgment or reflection on the characters who were killed in previous films. I’m not saying Sidney or Sam should be a full blown Laurie Strode doomsday prepper after one movie, but it has always bugged me that Sidney and Dewey have NEVER discussed Tatum or her death in the 20 plus years and five sequels that make up the Scream universe. I love Scream 4 and Jill, but to have Sidney stay with her mysterious murdered mother’s sister and not have a SINGLE conversation about Maureen and the impact her choices and murder has had on the entire family as a whole, was a major missed opportunity. Dewey, Derek, and Randy are mainly the only characters to be grieved in the Scream franchise, even though there are SO many deaths directly related to Sidney, Gale, and the Stab franchise itself. We got no reflections from Kirby regarding her reaction to learning the truth about Charlie and Jill in Scream 6, and Tara, Mindy, and Chad did not seem upset about losing their childhood friend Wes, or Liv, who Chad admitted he was in love with in Scream 5 and never got to tell her before she was killed. I liked how ISKWYDLS had Julie struggling with her guilt and grief over the events of the first film while still trying to move forward with her life. The small touch of having Julie keep a photo of Helen by her bed and mourn the loss of her best friend, was an effective way of showing how much Julie missed Helen and her regrets about not mending their friendship when she had the chance. What happened to Barry and Helen impacts Julie’s relationships and decisions in the second film, which is not very common in the horror genre. I admit I am also more of a Helen fan than a Julie one and I think Helen was so integral to the story of the first film that it would feel strange for Julie to not acknowledge her in some way.
who is after a bunch of older age people? Ben still in the net? Still live in a town without a constituent? It never made sense the first time. Can’t wait to see it!
