Some Podcast Episodes Deserve Video. I hope you enjoy the conversation, as well as the footage from the Audi S8's 26 hours 29 Minute's sprint across the United States
Ted, can we please have more of these in the future, watched the entire thing
What is this. I don’t understand.
@@Iegend17 Basically, Ted was a Mission Control person for last years cannonball run, where a team of 3 drive from the North East of USA to the West as quickly as possible in one go.
where can I watch peoples full cannonball videos from start to finish
As a German watching this, its really frustrating to see what you have to deal with on highways, everyone just sitting in left lanes for no reason at all
Yet this can only happen in American where we have 3,000 miles to cross
@@JFinns the length of the network doesn't play a significant role does it?
@@drogenfeld Well NY to LA is pretty self evident, what would you do for Europe? Moscow to Lisbon? It's also probably a lot more difficult to plan as well since you go through different countries...and it's probably much more dangerous to get stopped in a foreign country with stricter vehicle laws.
It drives me insane how ignorant people are when driving here in the US. They go the speed limit or under in the left lane and get mad at you when you want them to get in the far right lane. Total insanity.
You know that the video is going to be good when during the 1st 15 seconds they run a red light immediately :D
Amd then run another one about 20 seconds after that
Yeah it is ✅👍
🤣🤣🤣 I thought I was tripping when I saw that
Nothing like some asshole running red lights.
The first 5 minutes they just keep jumping red lights, and using bus lanes. I imagine they arent keeping to the speed limits either. Pro tip: Don't break the law while you are breaking the law :D Do one illegal thing at a time.
looking at the footage, it's unbelievable to me how crappy lane discipline is in this country.
Agreed. Anyone who says they can drive faster doesn't realize how many rolling road blocks there are because people camp in the wrong lanes.
@@TedwardDrives your next cannonball car should have a train horn for campers
@@andrewphillips2478 I second this.
that´s not an USA exclusive problem. I´m from germany, the sacred land of the glorious autobahn, and you can´t drive it properly for 90% during daytime because rolling as well as solid roadblocks. it´s horrible.
@@kidneybone1534 The worst are the Mittelspurschleicher...
runs a red light immedietly hahahha
He ran every red light
That shit in the beginner gave me anxiety but i laughed my ass off
I wonder how many red light tickets are awaiting his mailbox lol
@@yg78t76t7 Zero
@@musguelha14 Why is that?
I would actually watch a 25 hour video of someone just doing a cannonball run. It would be very interesting.
With audio too😂 Colorful words probably
I might be in it next year, I’ll be recording the whole thing. I won’t publish it right away because that will criminalize me but I can dm you
lmk
@@nickfox7413
how do they not get pulled over tho.
@@nickfox7413 yo I would be all for that!
That was probably the worst start ever getting a redlight right out the gate 😂
Not ideal!
@@TedwardDrives What a great video! I do my own personal cannonball from home to work everyday!
@@TedwardDrives I would have immediately restarted 😂
I'm so thankful for the German Autobahn
Ich auch...aber versuche mal von Hamburg nach München...bei unseren Baustellen und Blitzern wird das teuer, wenn man das als Rekord versucht :D
@@dazzeir6398 isso
@@MyNinjaHamster Also A7 runter ist nice Nachts
If only there were more places with 3 lanes!!! Cars too fast for the slow Lane but too slow for the fast lane
it wouldn't be fun if it was legal
I live in NJ and I can attest to the amazing talent and balls it took to for these people to get out of Manhattan and across NJ in that time frame. The first 24 minutes just incredible.
Cut through NY, (weehawken rt 495), to turnpike, ended on rt 7 passing through Newark in less than 15minutes 😳. I don’t know how tf that’s possible 😂😂😂
@@emanuelroldan3921 Corona.
Listening and watching the footage made me realize how intense and serious the canonball run actually is. It truly is incredible what these people have accomplished, I think here will always be some form of this sport as long as there is this country to race across, and if not, I hope at least these incredible stories last forever. Awesome video Tedward!
There were some rallies on public roads organized by the FIA in the past, I hope one day we can have that happening again.
@@dubnationx86i I don't think so .
how do they not get pulled over tho?
scouting, luck, and they do@@nate.hanlon
I MUST see some of this footage with the audio!! I'd like to place an order please, for a 2 hour highlight reel of this run with the in-cabin audio and perhaps a digital speed read out. Thank you in advance. 😁
P.s. brilliant podcast.
I would kill myself having to drive on those roads, everyone just picks a lane and vibes there
can we get an uncut version with audio too?
had this on my "watch later" for ages now, finally had the time to sit down & listen - well worth it!
It's great to see how determined and well organized men can be when it comes to a cause they share. As an outsider, for me this whole mission holds so much power in it.
Definitely gonna watch and listen again. Such a great podcast, thanks gentlemen
22:35 gave me the shivers, that rapid of acceleration in the right hand lane is crazy haha
So trippy seeing someone do the cannonball getting on 280 west literally 3 minutes away from my house lol
40:00 - I live in Avon! Crazy seeing that I fill up at this station weekly, then watching a cannonball run stopping there too. Super cool footage by the way, love the content
I don't know if it's a law, but in germany we learn: "only pass a car if you're going at least 20km/h faster". These cars in this video were going at the _exact_ same speed next to each other instead of behind each other. Jeez...
The right lane was completely empty! You're supposed to drive as far right as possible, and go left if you want to go faster than what's in front of you.
That's a 'thing" here. People will say they pay for the whole road, they will drive in any lane they want.
Or
It's their job to make sure other people don't drive fast
US drivers are arrogant and believe blocking the left lane will prevent speeding when they are the drivers that cause 90% of freeway accidents
you germans and thinking the whole world should do everything the same way as you lol.
Ah just got here from listening to one of Doug Tabbut’s cannonball tales on Ed Bolian’s channel this is great timing for another cannonball related conversation
love the actual footage , gives me something to look at while listening to you guys :)
Thanks for uploading this. S8 is the best...
Wow this was an amazing video!!! Wish I could do the Cannonball Run one day.
You can. Do it.
I remember meeting Pete along with some others involved years back during the Cabot Trail Yuppie Racing Rally. Great group of guys and an unforgettable trip.
Oh so it was his s65 amg! Absolutely love that car. I’m from New Jersey and Rhode Island I can’t wait until I get a cool car to hang with u guys lol
Same. Hey Tedward any car meets planned for the future?
Probably should have timed the start to a green light.
As they said later in the video they were in a rush to get out of the city as officials were talking about closing the bridges.
@@shahvez1660 another minute couldnt have hurt
Because wowww 1 redlight less would have changed the whole video of constant law breaking 🥴
@@Noahj-ot3mx you do have a point!
If I was spotting I would worry about white SUVs on the right side, like at 54:28 followed by 54:33.
Really enjoyed this one. Didn't even realize that I was an acquaintance of 3 cannonballers
Great video, really interesting watching how the driver dealt with stupid drivers blocking the passing lane. Incredible that the new driver never drove the car or the route before the actual cannonball run.
I'm a chill driver with years of experience driving professionally. Just looking at this footage is giving me anxiety, can't even imagine driving there.
the first 24 minutes taught me the best way to drive out of the city and through NJ
respect the drive is the only podcast I listen to lol
40:40: Pretty sure I went to that exact same gas station one of the last times I went through I-70 (in the last couple years).
42:27: Ooooo, I-70 through Glenwood Canyon. About 12mi of the most beautiful interstate there is. (Though they have very advanced equipment to track car movement, including speed, from a main traffic office, so you probably want to keep your speed down there, even when you don't have the one-lane delay you had there. I heard a bit about this story before -- on this channel, I'm pretty sure -- but I didn't realize it happened in Glenwood Canyon. That's so sad!)
love hearing the stories about these insane cannonball runs, would love to see you drive in one of these record attempts lol :)
just seeing this car swerve between cars on the highway going 120+ is insane to me haha.
couldn't imagine this even being possible in the uk with all the speed cameras :/
Haha 5 seconds in and he already blew the first red light! This looks like so much fun
Right? Although low key the way he drove inside the city is how a lot of people do. Can't do anywhere without blowing a few reds or going around people.
@@LucefieD it's what makes NYC drivin so fun!
I love hearing stories from cannonball runs, do more of these please🙏
Haven't seen the whole thing yet but 22:00 is infuriating.
Wonder how much time they'd save in densely populated areas if the public just had lane discipline.
Why wouldn’t they go around them?
@@kndli67maybe because they are blocking both lanes matching speeds. Drivers that match speeds should be charged with reckless driving
@@trowwzers5057 And another moron who didn't learn what reckless driving actually is.
cam car needs to practice swimming more. Easy cuts to get in there. Cam car hesi'd. I wanted to see more whitelines and taking the shoulder
33:55 biggest understatement
The only podcast I have ever laid eyes on... literally.
Great video and podcast, as always! Just wondering, when is the ideal time to start a run? A lot of traffic out of NY (even pedestrians!)
And also, cop going the other way at @18:18 haha. Welcome to NJ
hiting that red light like a champ
love these vids
stupid question i guess but i was just wondering: cant you go back (maybe after taking a day break) and try again? (just the same distance but reverse?) i mean you have to go back anyway right? sure you have to organize it. but this way you get two shots.
Fave car. Excellent concept. Please do again.
I love this so much!!!
Is this footage available with engine sound?
Great podcast, greetings from germany =)
Hey, thanks!
35:08 I didnt think that the cannonball route would take you through i70, that loveland ski resort on the left, im heading up there tomorrow. I was kind of surprised to see it when I was just skipping forward. because usually when you watch this sort of thing its just a bunch of roads youve never driven on and a bunch of random scenery youve never seen, kind of nice seeing something familiar in one of these vids. now everytime im driving there ill wonder if the mercedes going 115 in the left lane is a cannonball car.
came for the Cannonball footage, stayed for the Boston car scene discussion. nice one
Nice interview.
Can you imagine doing 175 across the desert and jamming on the cannonball theme. All twanging guitars and Countach memories. Weeeee.
Dude's got some balls driving through Manhattan like that
21:20 I'm getting so pissed off just by looking at this situation, I guess at this point the driver could overtake these through the right side.
That was truly infuriating. I swear I find a radar detector more useful not for driving fast myself but for knowing when I may be risking a big ticket to aggressively (but safely) free myself from crap like that.
So frustrating, totally agree haha
49:20 gets me worse… (and the Jeep immediately before that pickup wasn't much better)
@@briane8156 Man that’s messed up, here in Europe it’s better most of the time

my wife and I went from Traverse city Mi to Vail az in 23 hrs and 33 mins. 2015 miles. Not a cannonball run but pretty damn fast for driving.
the difference in how clean the windshield is at the beginning vs the end is comical
Love the vid. And where the sq7 vid ? Been waiting forever it feels like😔
Friday or Sunday. Haven’t decided order yet

hi im one of clarks Best friends, i also love cars and nice channel
Most parts of the video are just looking like a normal night drive on the Autobahn :D
I would even watch maybe a 20 episode series that shows about an hour of footage each episode from a run with commentary from the people who did it and maps and data and everything, so you can watch an entire run basically
Plot twist Tedward is doing/has done a Cannonball
Hey Tedward, any chance we'll see you on VinWiki in the future? I think you'd make for a great video or two.
Yeah If im in Atlanta I’ll hit up Ed for some seat time on his set. Would love to tell some stories on his channel
What do they do with the car once they get there? Do they drive it back to NY?
Running them reds😂😂😂😂🙌🙌🙌🙌
hey tedward is it possible you can go over what you use to edit the videos and audio or can I pay and you have it in Patreon?
No need to pay. Although any donations are welcome 😂. I use Final Cut Pro. Normal videos are recorded vide and audio separately and I sync them in editing
18:18 😂the police chade
I looked up the US cannonball runs on Wikipedia and this one is not showing up
Great Video, greetings from Germany.:)
How did I live on the same street as red ball garage during covid and never see a cannonball start lol
😂 the guys who work there don’t even know what’s happening
whats up with the a4 convertible at the end it looks freaking fast
RS4 and he was the final spotter and lead into the finish
anyone know where u can watch the whole thing?
I could probably sit down and watch a whole record run
that audi at the end gave me the biggest smile
I love speeding on public roads. have fun!
The amount of people in the US that drive on the left hand lane or don't move over after overtaking is mindblowing...
No Audio from original vid?
Cannonball livestream would be cool
the H1 is definitly scarier than the unimog😂
100%
Nah
Is there any way to see full 25 hours footage of cannonball race?
Whats the laser pointer for 25:05
I have a idea where your have to race trough every city in newyork state as fast as you can
I like the s8
Is it just me or there should be classes for certain type of cars and there should be recorde’s for each type of classes i think that would just be fun
"With actual footage"!!?? #blessed
Next time please with sound! 😂
14:27 is this the bridge where they filmed the movie "Inception" ?
I think the bridge from Inception is in Paris
I remember those days in 08 and cars and coffee with Pete and Sam. We did some autox together... those were the days...
@@Jtomba06 no.

I love how 130 looks slow
Skipping tunnels lanes 💀💀💀💀😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol 1:12:36 Didn't expect that.
21:50 you gotta be kidding me! What a ridiculous behavior of that silver SUV, driving the same speed as the other car and blocking both lanes
I would've been in the shoulder much, much more than this driver. Props to their safety.
I think that cannonball runs should be about setting a sub 26/27 hours instead of getting the record, just in the sake of safety.
Having a 1st place mentality for such an endurance sprint on public roads is kinda dangerous, the community should praise any sort of time I feel :)
Is there a raw footage ?
