Great video! Very cleve usage of the box crop to assist in the animation when they come back into view.
One tip if you have a lot of presets is to use the description/notes field to help with filtering your presets (i.e. #show1, #show2). The search bar filters on both the name and notes field.
The MixEffect release scheduled for this week will have the following improvements:
1. Slightly redesigned interface for the SuperSource page. There will be a dedicated buttons to bring up search and go to the View All Presets page in the upper-right. The Presets/Art/Copy picker will move to the top of the SuperSource page.
2. Companion support! You will be able to recall a SuperSource preset from MixEffect using a Stream Deck and Companion. I also have an Export Preset Icon feature so your Companion buttons look exactly like the preset.
3. SuperSource Box Helper. A shortcut that facilitates the creation of boxes of a certain size (i.e. 3:2, 4:3, 16:9, etc.). This will help in getting your boxes sized properly from the get-go.
4. Offline SuperSource Support. You'll be able to edit your SuperSource layouts offline when using the ATEM Simulator.

I’d love to see a source selector for box sources similar to the way you handle Auxes in future builds as well.
Or a toggle that allows “sticky” sources for presets. I.e. some presets that recall specific box sources, and others that don’t.

Sticky sources is going to be a little trickier. Right now, I'm using shortcuts to do this type of thing because I haven't quite figured out the UI for it.

I held out on getting Steamdeck, and I was never sold on the idea of integrating with OBS. I saw this app and thought “this is so much more user friendly than editing xml macros”. Great app, can see lots of good uses for it. Out of interest, have guys ever considered developing a replay app for the Atem ISO switcher types. Pulling instant replays and bunching those replays to a highlight replay from the individual camera recordings could be very useful. You could even playback alternate camera sources one after another. Or do you do this already? Maybe I missed something. Cheers :)
Overall great product, i purchased the pro variation but I have consistent dropping issues, the app disconnects and reconnects constantly while in use. Across two different devices an ipad and an iphone, latest versions of all softwares on atem and mixeffect.

Just asking for a little help: Is it possible to have Mix Effect select between 4 different audio sources for use in video follows audio? Specifically, 4 podcast microphones all connected to a Behringer x32 rack mixer.
Ryan, I wish I could give you a definite answer on that. If you start the free trial, you should have access to all functions for testing.

The app will work with every ATEM switcher, but the supersource page is only available to switchers that already have that feature natively - i.e. the extreme series or the 4K 2ME and above.

I think it’s very useful to anyone using an ATEM. For example, having a next transition button if you’re doing a lot of keying is really helpful. I’m also a big fan of how auxes are laid out.

Can I still use Mixeffect?
Yes. Both MixEffect and the ATEM software require some sort of network connection to be used, but it doesn’t need to have internet on the switch.
Jumping in the conversation here…. I have the Atem 2 M/E connected directly to my iPad Pro using ethernet cable and it works perfectly!
Will this work with the ATEM Mini or Mini Pro?
Yes. You won't get SuperSource since that feature is not supported by the Mini or Mini Pro, however.
Unfortunately this seems to connect with the ATEM via WIFI.
I would like it to be a desktop app running on a computer directly connected with the ATEM via the LAN cable
Wifi is the easiest way to connect the iPad, however, as long as you have the right IP address, a physical connection should work through a dongle as well.
If you want to use a computer, the new apple silicon should support it since iPad apps now run on the desktop using the new OS
Does this work with the atem mini pro?
The app itself works with the switcher functionality. So, yes, it works great for all sorts of uses, but no, it won’t make a supersource appear on the mini pro. Supersource needs an ATEM extreme or higher with native supersource support to work with the app.

The MixEffect app will work with every ATEM, but you need one with a supersource to get this particular feature

The Constellation 8K, ATEM 4M/E, ATEM 2 M/E, and both ATEM Extreme models have supersources.

No plans for Android version. mixeffect.app/docs/compatibility#android for more details.
Has this been used or can it be used with an ATEM Television studio?
It certainly can be used even if the switcher doesn’t have a supersource. There’s a ton of features I didn’t touch on that are really useful.
Just don’t expect your switcher to magically gain a supersource by using the app, if your switcher doesn’t have one.
I've tested MixEffect on an ATEM Television Studio HD and an ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K. I am doubtful that it will work with the original ATEM Television Studio (the one that looks like a rackmount faceplate) because that switcher is very old, and MixEffect requires that switchers be running a certain firmware. It should work fine with the ATEM Television Studio Pro HD.

Why would you skip the MOST important part?????????????? without it "connected", it won't work . . . even Mr. Tow talks about the many problems you can have "connecting" to your ATEMs
The documentation on connecting to the switcher is pretty great - follow the instructions and make sure you have a static IP address. My aim in this video was to show off the functionality of the app that was most appealing to my production scenarios, not the required networking stuff. Thanks for commenting and watching!

“SuperSource is only available on the following ATEM switchers.
ATEM Mini Extreme
ATEM Mini Extreme ISO
ATEM 2 M/E Constellation HD
ATEM 4 M/E Constellation HD
ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K
ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K
ATEM Constellation 8K
If your ATEM switcher is not one of the switchers listed above, the SuperSource feature will not be available when you connect to your switcher.”
The newly released constellation HD 2ME, 4ME, and TV studio HD 8 also have supersource
