Hi Lamiaa. Thanks for your kind words. From my experience, the skill of consecutive interpreting can be easily gained and easily lost, so practice is the key. It's my job so I practice on a regular basis. Also learning touch-typing in both languages helps tremendously. All the best!

ماشالله عليكي استفدت كتير من المقطع وحلمي اصير مترجمه بس عندي سؤال لو سمحتي هل كنتي تسجلي نقاط اثناء تكلم الاطراف الاخري؟ أم هل كان كلامهم يسجل الي كتابه امامك؟ لانه صعب تذكر مقطع طويل وترجمه جميع النقاط بالترتيب.
شكرا على تعليقك يمامة... طبعا من ضروريات الترجمة الشفوية تسجيل النقاط التي يتم ذكرها حتى نكون أمناء في نقل الفكرة والمعلومة. لذا ردًّا على سؤالك، نعم كنت أسجل الملاحظات عن طريق الحاسوب (الكمبيوتر). وأيضًا من المفترض أن يكون طول الحديث أقل مما كان عليه. يحق للمترجم مقاطعة الحديث إن أراد ليترجم.

Great work, really! I am a sim interpreter. I find sim interpreting a hundred times easier than consecutive. i have hard time doing consecutive because i an not trained to do shorthanding. Any tips on where to get such training? Is it available online? Thank you!
Hi Deena... Thanks for your comment. I did my initial training in that in my MA degree in translation; however, I made my own rules along the years, I guess! There are books on that... Now I type my notes as I'm much faster in typing than writing.

@@Leylounem Hi Leila. I just got the chance to listen. The word in English is "quote" and not "code". The quote he is referring to is in the original presentation (the link is above in the description in minute 1:25:00). The quote is from Abdu'l-Baha and the word that is used in Arabic for "quote" or "quotation" among members of the Baha'i community is البيان المبارك. It could also be المقتطف. Hope that explains the reasoning behind my choice :)

Thanks for your kind words. I can touch-type in both Arabic and English.
@@AlhanRahimi I guess what meant is as an example, when interpreting from English to Arabic do you type notes in Arabic right away? Sometimes I mix my notes.
@@amalseif5166 I type in the language that's spoken then I sight-translate my notes. It's more work, in my opinion, to take notes and translate at the same time!

هل تنصحيني بدراسة الترجمة بعمر ٢٤ سنة في الجامعة وكيف أصبح مترجم محترف في العلاقات الدولية والدبلوماسية أيضا والمؤتمرات
أنا تخصصت في دراسة الترجمة في هذا العمر. ليست عندي خبرة في المجال الدبلوماسي، لكن الممارسة هي المفتاح. في الجامعة، كنا نتدرب على ترجمة خطابات رؤساء الدول. وبداية، قد تستطيعين التطوع للترجمة في المؤتمرات.
وقريبا قد أنزل مقطعا آخر لترجمة كانت صعبة جدا علي

@@saberayyad4987 اعتقد انه يجب عليك الاستماع ثم الاستماع لأكثر من أجنبي وأيضا الأفلام الأجنبية لكن من دون مترجم فقط اسمع و من ثم تدرب حتى تتقن مثل العربية تماما وشكرا
