Did you burry the post?
Did you pay for your house or did your Mommy and Daddy pay for it? 🤔🤔🤔 if they paid for it give them credit and put a sign saying Mommy and Daddy money 💰
@@carlstallins1285 obviously I paid for it, got the debt to prove it 😂. Don't think my parents would fund such a ridiculous house 😅

Not a ridiculous house you see many in Texas in the country.

As a former builder with 12 years of owning my own company, and 25 years of construction, I can say that your numbers are very realistic. I like the way that you have done this project young man. I have bought some land near the mountains out to itself in northeast Georgia. Wife wants a nice house. I want a shop to restore my 1969 Camaro. I am close to retiring from work, 4 years maybe. You have gave me inspiration at 64 years old to pursue a shop building FIRST! I might end up living in it by myself but ol well. Thank you for posting this video. Good work all around, in the video and construction.
Thanks for checking it out and good luck with yours!
How much did he pay
I got an estimate for a 60x80 metal building slab and all for $160,000 down in texas and I believe that included 4 bay doors. The guy said the price also depends on the cost of steel at the time too and I believe it was high a year ago when I asked. Now of course this didn't include the land and this was just an open steel building with no rooms inside. I can just build an office inside if I want one.
@A W I think it had basic electrical, no plumbing. I'm in the process of buying a property with a steel building on it already and just adding a smaller addition to it later on since I don't trust that the contractors will stay on budget. I can see that 160,000 easily turning into 250,000. That quote for 160,000 I got about a year ago. Right now with the covid-19 thing going on the contractors are swamped and I can't even get anyone to get back with me with a quote.
I have two friends that have this same setup. One is almost this exact size and one is less than half. Both being a 25/75. I thought living space was small at first but being a dude that’s usually off the couch and phone, the inside is for the boss lady so let her “design” her part so you can get yours. Dude has a lot of 💰in unused space, which is nice if it fits in the budget. It cost more to build and more air to heat. Porter field do yourself a favor and do the blown insulation then the foam board insulation in the wall(buy it surplus/salvaged)You can get more out of the living space by bed and bath upstairs. Cut out the 💀 space and use the money for geothermal(you can do it yourself and way cheaper than any bid from HVAC companies) cuz the boss lady’s cold little toes are gonna have you chopping a shit ton of locust or spending your supercharger money on more coziness!
God Bless and thank God for our Bull in this commy china shop Trump!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💯
At being 22 man, that's an impressive achievement. Your humbleness shows lots about your character, love the tour and the breakdown of everything. Keep it up!
Thanks so much! It's taken a lot of hard work and patience but definitely worth it in the end.

I always pictured an apt on top of a nice garage and I'd be set. Not needing to climb stairs is an even nicer deal.
bobby solo a friend had a setup like that! A four bay garage with his apartment on one side and an apartment on the other side that paid for the mortgage.

When you turn the attic space into a master bedroom, how about adding a window looking into the garage?
Definitely something to consider, would technically need to be a fireproof window but probably doable
Not generally allowed under firecodes, it's an explosion/fire issue.

I'm married with kids, so I can only daydream and admire what you have accomplished.
Let me start out with " Great Job"! One can tell you put a lot of time and energy into the design and layout of your project and it looks and functions well. Appears you chose a great group of sub-contractors who also had your best interests at heart and the finished project shows. I was a new home builder and remodeler for years and I caution you on others suggesting after the fact you should have done this or moved that knowing they mean well. Be happy with what you have and when the next project comes along and there will be another project in your future you will be all the wiser my friend. You have all the best reasons to be proud of what you have accomplished for your self and wish you nothing but peace and happiness. Keep up the good work!
I appreciate the comments and kind words! I'm happy with what I've accomplished and have learned so much along the way.

The ultimate bachelor pad!
The drainage may seem a bit much, but it is important to get that water away from the building.
You got that right! The excavators did a good job and I've had zero drainage issues.
We had a 30x40 building built and had to do the same thing. What sucks about it is the cost. You be surprised how projects like a pole barn will nickel and dime you to death.
@@JesusChrist-uu2te you got that right! That rainwater pit was like $6500
@@Kordare - Approximately what was the cost breakdown for that(materials, permits, labor, etc.)?
@eitoobmiz very cool, sounds like a fun project!
everyone gangsta until this guy show his toilet from garage
He's old enough to have worked up good credit, I'm sure the bank payment book is still thick, but props to him.
@Billy Bob it's called hard work. I owned my first 130k house at 24 with only a 60k loan. Rehabbed it by 26 and sold for 200k and moved to Florida all while turning a wrench. I'm 34 now and building a 800k house and shop on the water here in Florida for half the cost because I own a construction company now. Work for it and don't let anyone hold you back. I worked 80 hour weeks at the shop and out of my own garage to afford what I wanted. Only regret was not putting money into the markets I'd pry be a millionaire but I did invest into myself. No college, barely passed High School because of myself being ADD and grew up with abusive parents. I did find an amazing wife that works just as hard plus we didn't have kids till after being married for 6 years which I made sure of. Ever want advice I've helped a quite a few of my guy's get on their own doing just like myself. You must though give up boozing every night and smoking weed all the time that shit doesn't get you anywhere. I like to go out and trust me I played 3 nights of league pool before I left up north so I'm not just some boring fool. Just I enjoy fast cars, houses, traveling and my wife more then the bar and getting high all the time. And again we never received a single dollar from anyone besides what we made so don't think it's not achievable.
@Billy Bob Worked throughout college, graduated, got a job at 21, saved everything, bought the land at 22 (with help of a loan), kept saving and started building at 24.
@Krazy Kozelka's You hit the nail on the head. With hard work and patience this is achievable. Unfortunately a lot of people don't have that discipline so when they see me they just assume I'm not paying for it... If you watch the video it's pretty obvious who paid for this, everything was done on a tight budget and most of it is still incomplete. Congrats on your accomplishments thus far, thanks for sharing!
@Billy Bob yup I agree
Duuuuuude that is the EXACT setup I have been looking for!!!
Out in the countryside near New Iberia, Louisiana there seems to be a lot of these pole buildings made into houses. I love it!
Awesome! I've been happy with mine so far.
I'm not sure how this video was recommended to me but after watching this all I gotta say is mad respect to you, looks like you worked very hard to get what it was that you wanted and you're very humble about it.
thank you, that means a lot!
My house is very similar to yours and I am extremely satisfied with it. Been living in it around 8 years now with zero issues. One suggestion I have for you is to look into mini split AC and heat pump combo. I started off with window units and heat strips but electric bills were more expensive than I liked. I made the switch to mini splits and couldn’t be happier. They’re very efficient and quiet. Cut my electric bills in half. Very simple to install as well.
Awesome thanks for the tip!
Look into ductless systems. With that area it would be extremely cost effective.
I did the same in my garage. Mitsubishi 48k BTU unit outside and 3 head units inside. Works great and low cost to operate. It helps that I really insulated the garage well.
A lot of the better mini splits also heat with no issues down into the negative temps.
I'm a HVAC tech and the ductless systems are great. The Mitsubishi Hyperheat and Fujitsu Halcyon will heat 80% capacity down to -15 degrees.
Awesome place man, everything you need and nothing you don't. Glad you got this figured out while you are young, you are headed in the right direction for sure! Good job!
I’ve been considering doing this, much smaller though, I’m thinking 30’x60x16.Turn 30x30 into a garage, leave it unfinished with polished concrete floors and a 30x30 living area and 30x15 loft. My thoughts on building this type of setup is build what you need, you can always make it nicer later.
I'm VERY impressed that you did that at 24 years old, congradulation !!!

Great build project! Thanks for the sharing you experience. My wife and I got 18 acres of land and planning our home build this year.
Thanks a lot and good luck with yours!
this is every man's dream home
And some women's!! 😀
Great build!
Great property!
Love how the house is part of the shop area.
I'm jealous, this is what every car guy dreams of.
Thanks for checking it out!
Smart guy. Love the garage and cool living area. I wish I would've thought to build like this 25 years ago.
Thanks for checking it out!
Great vid my friend! I liked how you broke it down to, it is what it is pricing. I work in the construction field. So many people have no idea what things cost at these times. Im glad to see there are a few younger people that can still think!
Thanks for checking it out! Yeah location plays a huge part in the cost of literally everything which is why I gave big ranges.
"I park my cars in my bathroom"
hahah yup
Bro this is so dope! You’re way ahead of the game for your age.
Thanks a lot! I feel like I haven't even started yet 🤘
This is such a nice place (garage and living space)! Thank you for giving us all a tour.
Thanks a lot, I'm planning to do an updated tour soon, as a lot has changed in the past year!
Hey! I came across your build, and I am more inspired than ever after watching this! Looking forward to getting my dream setup build like yours!
Thanks again!
That's great to hear, good luck to you!
Wow that’s just amazing!!! You definitely have a good head on your shoulders young man your parents must be proud!!!
Thanks so much!!
I'm not his parent or a parent at all but I'm proud of him. imma bout to sell this house and do this. very very interesting. If I could get commercial/residential zoning that would be bad ass
Dude u just built my dream. When I go to build my shop and home I'll use this as a source of ideas
I'm glad I could help, good luck with yours!
Thanks so much for the price breakdown!!!
Absolutely beautiful! this is something i know my husband would love! thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot!
Wow! I wish I would have been so forward thinking at your age. I'm 62 years old and you are probably in better shape than I am. Kudos for that!
Thanks a lot!!
BRAVO ---- You're my hero. I wanted to build that house/garage in 1965. Because of--- "life" --- it took me 30 years but I finally ended up with something a little less than yours. You did good building what you wanted to start with. Now I'm 75 and almost too old to use my home machine shop. Your cost break down was excellent, much appreciated and spot on.
P.S. ---- good luck finding a woman who wants to live in a house like yours. (there are some around though.)
Thanks so much and congrats on making yours happen, even if it is a little later in life!
7 or 8 years ago I sat down and sketched out something very similar to this, except I wanted to leave all the land around the house wooded (so I could sit on the front porch and watch birds/wildlife while I enjoyed my cigars). I told my old man about it during a visit and he kind of scoffed at the idea, then last year he built one himself (not wooded, but in the middle of 80 acres). I got remarried 1.5 years ago, to a city girl, so those dreams have gone up in smoke, but at least I can live vicariously through builds like yours... Nice work!
Thanks a lot! I am letting most of the land go back to woods so it will be similar to what you mentioned in a few years.
