I am against sharks in Minecraft however, we already have Guardians and Drowned, it also does not help that sharks are FAST swimmers in real life and would probably be as fast in game as well most likely being MULTIPLE times faster than a normal Guardian, that times the fact that your movement options are limited while swimming? The only time this isn't the case is if, to them, you appear to be their prey (To a Great White, a surfer on a surf board looks like a seal) and they always spit out the person when they realize that the person wasn't what they thought.

If they ever did implement sharks this is how I would do it. Making them mostly neutral some would act more aggressive doing stuff like circling you before going in for a taste test, rocking your boat, and sometimes getting to the point where it breaks. For species to be implemented it would be interesting to add Great White, Hammerhead, Oceanic Whitetip/Shortfin Mako. (Don't know which one to choose)
Hammerhead would do more attacks on boats and rarely going in for taste tests but when it does it hurts doing 5 damage, Oceanic Whitetip/Shortfin Mako would be more curious and often go in for taste tests but not doing a lot of damage only doing 3.5 hearts, and finally Great white would be completely neutral only attacking you if you attack it but when you do its like the Warden of the sea doing 8.5 hearts. I don't know a lot about sharks this comment was mainly just about how to implement them without making them mindless killers. Any corrections are completely welcome.
EDIT: Just learned Mako Shark attacks are usually pretty rare so definitely will go with the Oceanic Whitetip now.
