Nintendo's plans for a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie will help the company make amends for a significant failure over 30 years later. The announcement for a new live-action movie adapting the popular Legend of Zelda games came on the heels of Nintendo finding great success with Illumination's animated The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The movie surpassed nearly all expectations financially, as The Super Mario Bros. Movie's box office total eclipsed $1.3 billion. This guaranteed that more Nintendo video games would get movie adaptations in the future, with the animated realm proving to be an ideal format for them.
That is why the announcement of a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie is a bit more surprising. The adventures of Link and Zelda were always expected to get a movie adaptation at some point, and the continued success and acclaim of the games only increased those chances. While there was some hope that the property could be done in live-action, The Super Mario Bros. Movie's success brought assumptions that all future Nintendo movies would be done in animation. The confirmation that The Legend of Zelda will be done in live-action means Nintendo is finally making up for one of its biggest failures.

If they decide to do it, they'll do it well. Nintendo is very aware of America's woke nonesense and will not allow it to interfere with making a good movie or game. They also continue to be a powerhouse in quality assurance and brand identity. They know who their characters are and how they want them portrayed and rarely disappoint. Plus, they always have the original Mario Bros movie to remind them what happens when you poorly translate from game to film.

We need a breath of the Wild movie with a Tears of the Kingdom Sequel to follow it.
The AI mixing and introducing voiceovers to give the illusion the characters talk at some point was awesome. The only problem with this was the insanely flat voice acting. Other than that, pretty clever. Try more! Don't give up on your creative visions!

I am glad to hear this isn’t actually the trailer because it would be dead on arrival. And if Link has a speaking role I’ll be very disapppinted.
Link never speaks just grunts and groans. They'd ruin the movie if he didn't at least do that.
Right but at the same time a movie where the main character doesn't talk would be rather boring wouldn't it.
Sigh... wish fans would stop with this whole 'Link doesn't talk' angle. He clearly does, the devs intentionally (for artistic reasons?) muted his dialogue here (see below). If he moves his lips and is looking directly at another character you can make a logical assumption Link is talking.
As for my thoughts, yeah he tends not to be a chatter bug but especially for a film adaptation you have to make it engaging for the viewer. He can talk less, like they could take inspiration from "The Man with No Name" films but in my opinion he should be able to vocalize his thoughts.
This was a fan made🎉 crappy AI video so we can only hope the final film will have better dialogue.

The amount of responsibility and integrity it would take, to truly honor the core essence of the Zelda heart and ethos, is unattainable. Although, there might be one contender up to such a an endeavor, namely the great and majestic style and aesthetic of Ghibli Studio would certainly come to mind. :)
Anya is the absolute perfect choice to play Zelda, she IS zelda, she is so classy, so elegant and she gives a lot of royal vibes, I really hope she is the one.

Ana Taylor Joy probably would make a good Zelda... but this movie idea... I don't know. I hate this link, and the plot feels generic. I think if you are going to do Zelda, you are going to need to build up the world building and make it look and feel different than a typical Tolkien movie. (One way of doing that: Show Zora, show Gorons, Show Ganon, Sheikah and Fairies)
