- Vladimir Putin watched a single World War Two tank roll through Moscow as part of a scaled back Victory Day parade in which he claimed war had been unleased on Russia.
The T-34, an 83-year-old relic, has traditionally opened the annual display of military might because of its symbolic role in helping Russia overcome Nazi Germany.
However, the Soviet-era tank is normally accompanied by more modern fighting machines in a full display of Moscow’s military might.

Update: During the 1942 to 1945, US provided aids to Soviet Union (the former self of existing Russian) amounted about 92 billion dollars and after the war, the Soviet Union government returned 2.6 billion dollars worth of material back to US. Such aids, besides the monetary value, the timing of such support is also critical as that was the most important time for the SU needed it.

The lend lease helped. It certainly sped up the process of defeating the Germans but the soviets would have won due to their numerical superiority and resources.

Well at least Lukashenko showed up for the Parade so there was a single international leader in attendance to watch the single tank in the Parade. Kind of pathetic when the North Koreans can put on a much more intimidating show with more modern weapons and get more international leaders to their Parades than Putin can.
