The interview with Mr. Chaps was very misleading; In relation to the size of the country the UK (and US) support for Ukraine is much smaller than most EU countries and well below the EU average. Mr. Chaps should aim for the UK to reach the EU average and should encourage the US to do the same.
It is insulting, and factually incorrect, to suggest that countries like Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the Czech republic are doing too little - in particular when coming from the UK.

It's been clear for a good while now that we (Ukraine + allies) need two things that anyone exercising the Golden Rule would have done long ago -- (a) establish the shared goal in concrete terms, e.g. restore 1991 borders, and (b) extend the logistical envelope to Ukraine-allied stakeholders. The extra structure of extending the logistical framework could have mitigated the tragic outcome (Ukraine lives lost) of political performance idiocy. The last 7 months has been torture for those of us in the U.S. who care deeply about Ukraine. This is to say I want to see changes made so that we at the very least, smooth out the process for Ukraine's supply chain so they can know what is in the pipeline AND CAN COUNT ON IT.

The U.S. has provided unbelievable amounts of ammunition, money and equipment already; not to mention the intelligence, targeting data, EW assistance AND the ongoing work by U.S. (and UK) spec ops to train Ukrainian forces.
Could we- and should we- do more? Absolutely. And it’s true that a segment of the Republcan party opposes it…but it’s hardly true that the U.S. has failed to deliver such that Blinken’s visit appears “off”

If he meant more in terms of per cent of GDP, 19 Europeans countries (including Germany and France) give more. (See Kiel Ukraine Support Tracker)

BUDAPEST, January 16. /TASS/. The West’s military assistance to Ukraine is senseless and only leads to more casualties, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said.
"It [the conflict in Ukraine] has no military solution," he told a news conference after talks with his Hungarian counterpart, Viktor Orban. "The Ukrainian army is no longer capable of matching Russia blow for blow."
According to the Slovak prime minister, the situation is unlikely to change even if military support for Ukraine continues. "In three years, we will be standing here and stating that the 50 billion euro (the EU plans to allocate as assistance to Ukraine - TASS) is a total loss, that each party [to the conflict] has lost 100,000 more troops and that neither of them has made any progress. Russians will go on controlling Donetsk and Lugansk; they will not budge, certainly not from Crimea. Russia’s negotiating position will only improve," he said,
At the same time, he said that as a Slovak he is grieved to see Slavs kill Slavs because of the geopolitical interests of some forces in the West, who are behind this conflict in Ukraine. These forces, in his words, twice banned the Kiev authorities from striking a peace agreement. He called for letting common sense prevail and stopping the exploitation of Ukraine to weaken Russia.
"The Russian economy is chugging along, the ruble is staying stable, Russia is becoming self-sufficient, Russian energy companies are reporting various record-breaking contracts for the export of energy to such countries as China and India," Fico said.
He said that he planned to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Denis Shmygal, in Uzhgorod on Wednesday. "We continue to insist that we will only provide [Ukraine] with humanitarian assistance but will not send any weapons, as weapons cannot help resolve the problem in Ukraine," he added.

Czech President Petr Pavel spoke in favor of halting hostilities in Ukraine and starting negotiations on the post-war arrangement in an interview with Sky News TV channel.
"It is necessary to stop the war and start discussing the future [post-war] order," the president said when asked whether Ukraine should now start negotiations with Russia and stop hostilities.
Pavel believes it is "naive" to imagine that Kiev will be able to regain territory taken by Russia in the foreseeable future. "We have to be realistic," he said. The parties to the conflict should reach a compromise in resolving the situation during negotiations after the ceasefire, he noted. "There should be a compromise [worked out], but not without one consent of Ukraine, Russia and the countries that will guarantee this agreement," the president stressed.
He noted that NATO cannot deploy soldiers in Ukraine. This would mean a conflict between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance. "No one in Europe wants this conflict," Pavel said.

On May 16, the Russian Ministry of Defense shared the video that confirmed the precision strike in Ukrainian rear. According to the Russian military officials, Russian Iskander missile destroyed the command post of the 302nd air defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The strategically important military base was hidden next to an agricultural enterprise on the edge of the forest area near the village of Staraya Vodolaga.
The Russian Ministry of Defense summed up the results of the attack. Ukrainian losses reportedly included a military warehouse with ammunition. Losses in manpower included about 50 Ukrainian servicemen.
According to unofficial reports, in total, 35 Ukrainian officers inside the headquarters and 20 more servicemen who guarded the building from the outside were eliminated.
The number of military vehicles seen in the area confirmed that the destroyed target was an important military facility. As a result of the strike, the centralized air defense control system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Karhkiv region was destroyed.
Russian precision strikes are pounding Ukrainian military facilities non stop. Amid the ongoing Russian advance in the Kharkiv region, the range of Russian artillery shelling, drone, missile and bomb strikes is expanding, complicating the military operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The life of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who has survived an assassination attempt, is out of danger, Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Environment Minister Tomas Taraba said.
He told the BBC that the surgery was successful and the prime minister is not in a critical condition.
Fico was wounded in a shooting incident that happened after a government meeting in the city of Handlova in the western part of Slovakia. He was hospitalized in a serious condition, with wounds in a limb, the chest and abdomen. The shooter was detained. According to the Slovak mass media, he is a 71-year-old writer Juraj Cintula, who carried out the assassination attempt on Fico over disagreed with the government’s policy.
Fico adheres to a principled position on Ukraine, advocating an immediate ceasefire and peace talks. His government, which took office in October 2023, has halted military supplies to Kiev, but provides humanitarian assistance. The prime minister speaks out for normalizing relations with Russia.
