Showing the board during post game interview is so good! Well done, please keep this up. It helps a lot of us to actually understand what they are talking about :) Thanks!
I'd like more of this style of interview. Hearing the players thoughts about the game is really interesting. Also, congratulations on the win Magnus! Magnus v Fabi world cup!!!
Outstanding analysis by Magnus Carlsen. His honest and harsh analysis of his own play is unique and a blessing to all of us. We are very fortunate to have been apart of this as it will be historic one day.
Is it unique? I feel like all of the top guys are super critical of themselves. Kramnick is unique in that he thinks he’s winning all of the time. But he’s retired. So literally every single top player is identical to Magnus in their self criticism. Dumb comment.
Nijat was very resourceful. Unfortunately, one inaccuracy or blunder against #1 isn’t easy to convert to a draw. Although chances are slim tomorrow as he has to win, I would like the match to go to tiebreaks. Magnus is still a clear favorite no doubt about it.
Always like Magnus for his straightforward attitude. He’s not brash or arrogant like other former world champions & number 1 (who will not be named) but just being candid, honest & real. When he doesn’t see a continuation he says so, & when he finds the weaknesses in his play he admonishes himself. This is how he remains at the top. Demanding nothing less of himself or his opponents.
I am happy to see Magnus succeed in this tournament. He seems a bit tired of classical chess but hopefully a #1 spot would encourage him to keep playing classical. It’s too early for him to fully retire from classical imho.
Bullshit. Stupid comment. She talks with Magnus when he has rested and can sit down looking on the comp. He interviews the players right after the games are finished. Magnus only dislikes himself, after playing poorly.
No. Grandmasters study chess away from games with an engine all the time. They were only a few moves into the opening at that point, they would for sure have many many more moves analysed by the engine and lines memorized. I'm not even 1700 and I have the engine moves for easily the first 10-15 moves of many lines in my most common openings I play memorized (ie much further than that). Magnus is known for a prodigious memory. He knows 10s of thousands of games.
We must give him props for straight up admitting he didn't see moves, like Qf1, whereas other GMs make up an excuse like "oh I just forgot it exists." It's extremely rare for a GM to just say they didn't see something
No. Almost all top players are extremely honest with their mistakes and blunders. Engine shows everything, so there's nowhere to hide and nothing to be ashamed. Don't act like, it's only Magnus.
I saw the game on agadmator and here but cant find why didnt he take the bishop on a7? I tried all variantions black king either escpaes or get to perpetual. Why black didnt just take?
White doesn't try to checkmate, they fork Black's king and bishop with Qg1+, they win back the bishop and then they're up several pawns in the endgame.
Lol have some shame kid, the move was objectively perfect while you are out here trying to look like the God of chess judging Magnus moves while using an engine when you are most likely 800 rated
why washed? he is not in his peak and Fabi is maybe even a favourite in the middle game now. But it is close to 50/50 in classic and 80/20 in tiebraks.
That's GM Irina Krush. She's won the US women's champs when she was 14, and has won it 8 times in total. She's a very serious chess player. She can say "er" if she likes while analyzing a game.
@@woshdndndj2103 Well, yes. Elon Musk isn't so good at talking. But if some businessman wants to do a profitable deal with him, he'd have to talk to Elon. Magnus isn't the best speaker either. It's up to you whether you wanna listen to a highly accomplished person or not. I would kill to have coffee with Stephen Hawking, even if the conversation wouldn't be smooth.

Yeah you usually get "what did you think after Qf2?" Well of course he had Rp12, Be&, b3, takes, takes, Kv1000#" and I'm lost
They had to step it up to compete with Hikaru’s analysis
Would have liked to see the engine lines.
Irina Krush interview with Magnus Carlsen on his first 1st game in semi-final was excellent. Hope to see more like this in remaining tournament.
Good chemistry I think!
Not much remaining lol
Yes. Excellent job Irina.
I'd like more of this style of interview. Hearing the players thoughts about the game is really interesting. Also, congratulations on the win Magnus! Magnus v Fabi world cup!!!
Pragg will spoil the party !! Wait and watch -- feelings from a patriot but otherwise a dumb chess player.
Amazing interview. Interviewer so on point, Magnus candid as few others would ever be. Pure joy to watch
Irina is the best! Love her insights, how dynamic she is in interviews and what she gets out of the players…
11:04 I'll throw away the game, but I'll take the result for sure!!
😮😮 so good with his words he is!!
Compare the quality and honest expressions of the champ with Niemans analysis saying things like the move speaks for itself is a huuuge difference
Magnus looks a lot more comfortable sitting down in this interview.
She make him comfortable
She’s not asking him stupid questions like what he did on his rest day, they are actually talking about chess.

Magnus is such an inspiration . I am working hard to reach at least 10% of what he has reached
I am still trying to break my 400 ELO barrier
So you hope to achieve an Elo of about 285... setting the bar rather low aren't you?
If you you reach 283.5 elo you'll get it! 😁
idk if this is a joke or not but i recently hit 500, if you do puzzles and pay attention to videos its pretty easy

Irina krush and magnus is a good match❤❤❤
She would be robbing the cradle .
Wow, commentator is so beautiful
Great interview, magnus seems more confortable here than with the guy just post game who he seems to dislike
Because that guy can't read the room. He crudely asks his preplanned questions without ever adjusting to the person he is interviewing.
Magnus hates that guy
