  • Join Dr. Zach Bush and leading experts Dr. Guy Danielson, Michelle Renee , Dr. Peter Cummings, and Gabby Jimenez for the latest learning installment of the Global Health Education initiative on the topic of Death, Dying & Rebirth.
Many of us have absorbed the story of death to be defined as an endpoint - as a contraction, or a disappearance, rather than what we've actually seen it to be - a massive expansion, of consciousness, of reality, of awareness, and ultimately of multidimensional beauty and purpose.
In this webinar, we’ll expand your thinking and understanding of death, while opening your eyes to the resources available so you can proactively establish your own philosophy. Whether you or a loved one are approaching the end of this life, it’s important to understand the support you can surround yourself with on the journey toward a rebirth.
Now more than ever, a broad perspective can help us understand these recent events so we can make more informed decisions for our future. If not for the sake of our technological and pharmaceutical innovations, but for our families and greater public health.
    * This is part of the Global Health Education initiative, which makes health education free and accessible to all. Consider donating to support more content like this here:

I was a birth doula and natural childbirth educator for a couple of years, so when my own mom was dying, it was such an amazing (and excruciating ) experience. I don’t want to outsource death. She died in my home, with her grandchildren around her, joking, telling stories, feeding her... that’s how I want to go. We had time to share our hearts.

... and then there is my 91 yr old Mom, who wants to die at home, surrounded by family, and while that should be a possibility (especially since she could live with me and I am an able medical professional), my siblings put her in an Assisted Living facility, where she cries (as in sobs and weeps) day and night, because she just wants to go home. How can my siblings be so cold?

    • @KathrynLee5456
      @KathrynLee5456 Před 2 lety +1

@@djondjon So sorry to hear that. My aunt terminal cancer patient was injected with the "intentional overdose" of pain medication that had been planned ahead of time by her and her daughter. But it was not done on my aunt's time, it was done at the convenience of the daughter. Aunt fought against it, but the clinical person administered it anyway. My mom witnessed it, and it broke her heart. She died shortly after this experience with her dear sister. I think her witnessing this played a role in this. Dying is sacred, and should be honored by the one doing the dying. Sorry to hear what you are facing. Prayers for you.

    • @djondjon
      @djondjon Před 2 lety

@@KathrynLee5456 You are right: dying is sacred. I am sorry that happened to your aunt, and for the pain it must have given her, your mom, and you. That it happened the way it did is a responsibility for which the daughter (& the medical professional) will have to face one day, when she meets the Lord. I don't understand how people can live with themselves when they do something like that, and like what my siblings are doing.

through the experience of having had a cerebral aneurysm, I had the absolute fortune of being pronounced dead on three different occasions. I have since, "seeing the light", experienced the privilege of viewing life on earth through a different lens. We are most definitely a part of something both minute; and grandiose...... at the same time. Simply fascinating; unquestionably all connected. Thank you for the uninhibited candour of your experiences Zach.

It struck me, when Guy described his mother going and then coming back to say, "There's nothing to be afraid of", that time as we know it doesn't exist on the other side, so even if she had gone for just a brief moment here, she could have had, in that time, a full experience over "there".

When my father passed he had been sick for quite some rime living solely on beer for the last few months and when he got to the point where he couldn't speak and he fell to the floor i had been out of town across the country. It took me two days to get to him but my family had been with him in that time. But he held on for me to get there curled up in a chair and i spent the last night with him before he finally let go and passed. It was quite a profound experience and i know he held on for me to get there and be with him. I played his favorite song by Rush while everyone else just kinda hung out i knew he could still hear. I did the same for my grandma while she was dying in the hospital with pneumonia my uncle was there just watching some stupid shows on the television in the hospital room i thought this isn't what anyone should have to listen to on their death bed so i played her some Frank Sinatra. We need to bring more awareness to the beauty of death and find ways to celebrate it rather than take it as such a negative thing

I had a similar experiencing with my childhood dog growing up! I was in fourth grade. I went to my friend's house after school and around 6pm her mom was dropping me off at my house. We went inside but no one was home except my dogs Daisy and Oliver greeting me in the living room. I pet them, loved on them, and then we left to call my parents at her house. My mom ended up picking me up from my friend's house and when we got home she said, "Sydney, I'm sorry to tell you this, but Daisy passed away today." I said, "what? that's not possible. I saw her just a couple hours ago" and my mom said, "No, honey, she died while you were at school today." I was so confused but I brushed it off because I was so young.
I still think back to that.. I know I saw her.. she let me see her one last time.

My cat was so sick when I was young. We ended up finding her in the basement as she was crying for us. We went down as a family and in that moment she passed with us all there. She was a cat that didnt require attention whatsoever until her last days. She wanted us to tell her it was okay.

My mother died the morning of 3/11/11 when the Japanese Tsunami hit. She had been in ICU for about a week battling sepsis. My sister and I got there and the nurse told us she was doing really good. BP was normal, bloodwork looked good and the nurse was really pleased with how she was doing. We went in to her ICU room and she waved at us, and said Hi! completely normal. We both sat down and my mom looked at me and I KNEW. I looked at the monitors and I saw her pulse slowly go down.. I told my sister that this was it. My sister was horrified and said but the nurse said she was doing great. I told my mom that both of us will be fine and if she needed to go to not worry about us. Her vitals slowly went down and I held her hand and looked in her eyes until she left her body. it was the most beautiful thing I had ever experienced. The nurse came in and was completely shocked. she told us in 35 years of nursing, she had NEVER had anyone wait until family got there. I felt so blessed to experience being with her, looking in her eyes and holding her hand.

What I learned from being in nature is that when a plant dies or a part of the plant falls off and dies it decomposes and it becomes part of another new life - a new plant in a different form
So even in nature you can learn that life continues on but it just changes form

It was a real pleasure to be with you and share being together in your healing consciousness. I felt my heart open wide in response to the sweet gentle smiles you presented along with your heart-centered stories. It reminded me of when I worked in a psych hospital and during a code, I'd look around at those who were being so caring and careful with the sick person who needed an intelligent intervention by exactly the kind of people who ran toward them, rather than running from the fear of their suffering. This is a lovely thing to see. "Blessed are the peace makers, for they shall be called the children of God."

YES! They can hear you. I know they can.Gabby is so right about that. I had one Lady passing away holding my hand tight and once no longer with us, her hand was still holding mine very tight. I had to gently pull each finger up to let my hand go. She had been so afraid to die and somehow I must have given her more confidence. Touching is very important and I did that making her feel that she wasn't alone...Thanking you so much for all this talk about Death. It's just making me return to spend time supporting those who are leaving this life. I am not afraid to die, not at all especially after some great experiences I have had. Good to talk about the end of this life. There are times when I too with to go to this other Adventure. I often find myself thinking about Death.

I really truly love this! I feel like we carry so much trauma, pain and anger from our previous lives and it’s manifested in anxiety, schizophrenia, depression, chronic pain, fear of everything. And before we die, majority of the time we still don’t learn these lessons that love is what really matters. Love will allow us to forgive, to let go. And we become pure before going to the next life. And having a new birth dula I can imagine really helps people reach that point before passing. Love the work you are doing! Bless you!! I am infinitely grateful!

I think I heard Rupert Spira say something about the brain being what the mind looks like from a second-person point of view. So for consciousness to know itself, it has to play the parts of subject and object, without there actually being an objective reality? Mind-blowing, to say the least. I appear to be a separate, limited being, but what I AM is is the awareness that is aware OF all objects of perception...including this bodymind and all its thoughts, feelings and sensations.

This is a wonderful podcast. I have been a school nurse for over 40 years, thus have a unique perspective as to what we have done to our children. This epidemic of behavior, ADHD, ODD, etc. etc. is finally too much. Now I want to be a death doula. Dr. Zach, I just discovered you. You cover all that matters regarding our physical mental and spiritual health. If you would like an old nurses perspective of what is happening with our children, please contact me. Thank you so much. Your words today bring tears to my eyes. Love.

Seems to me like we simply need to take this process back to basics and reintroduce the humanity side of it. Thank you to all of you for this talk. 🙏🏽

Oh how I know the need for a moistened mouth. Having watched most of my family during their time dealing with transition- that is a theme that runs through them all in different manifestations. They were in a hospital or western palliative care facility so although terminal with cancer or kidney failure, it was the dehydration or pneumonia that was their last few days.
It’s almost like the system end up within, doesn’t allow much choice of experience. Now they just offered an injection. That by the time came around for many, you might not be able to signal regret at choosing, years ago - without the awareness of death upon you.
All of these speakers offer such incredible insight into this process. I think I will be watching this many many times over.
I want to be like them. I want to be guide new ways… I’d really appreciate connection to support on my journey to be apart of the change.
    My heart is full

My greatest regret is my blindness to all my opportunities which are now gone.
Time spent with my children, my chance to learn a new a new skill.
Finding myself expecting less and receiving just that.
All the things I focused on and strived for meant nothing.
I am now in my 50s and only now I see everything I complained about was how I received it.

This is so wonderful, Dr.’Zach. An amazing group you had here on this episode. I wonder if you know of Stephen Jenkinson and his amazing work regarding these subjects of life, dying, and death. He has, among other published works, an amazing books titled “Die Wise”, a must read. His poetry and now music with musician Gregory Hoskins, speaks for itself. I would love to hear a conversation between the two of you! Thank you always, Dr. Zach🙏💕

We are eternal. When we transition from physical form we transition to formless energy. We are all the oneness of the eternal love of True Self.

The day my dad died in the ER, he surrendered by lifting his arms up to Heaven. My mother said They were coming for him. He did this for 30 or more minutes. Lifting his arms and lowering them. It seemed as though he was being carried away. Shortly after, as he lie there, I saw his Spirit leave his body. A white mist floated off him. His body breathed its last breath about an hour after that. It is a blessing still today to have witnessed that.

In regard to something the 2nd guest said about ketamine... Actually people have had genuine out of body experiences where they experience other physical places, similar to an NDE. Psychedelic therapy pioneer Stan Grof talks about one in one of his books.

but there is not the similar narrative of NDEs, there is not a real OOBE , are not life changing experience , they dont meet deceased familiars, the depth of the experience is quite different, there are no absurd things in NDEs . It's possible that some psychedelics help breaching the duality but i would not call them similar experience .
