The Lost Vikings 2 is a 1997 puzzle platform video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment and published by Interplay. The sequel to The Lost Vikings, it features the original three characters plus two new playable characters: Fang the werewolf and Scorch the dragon. The gameplay remains largely the same, though the three Viking characters all have new or modified abilities.
The SNES version uses technology very similar to the original installment, with similar, cartoonish graphics and 16-bit sound and music. Later releases for PC, PlayStation and Saturn, named Lost Vikings 2: Norse by Norsewest (Norse by Norse West: The Return Of Lost Vikings in the U.S. ) , feature pre-rendered 3D graphics, CD music and extensive voice acting.
This game is more repetitive than its predecessor (the weight puzzles, ugh), and the new characters' abilities mostly repeat those of the Vikings.
I played without getting extra powers on first level. I do get a different set of extra powers on level 22, but I don't use the howl until the final battle so that I don't break the game. Using Scorch's super fireballs was unavoidable, but I don't think it made the game too easy, especially since I avoided quickly killing the final boss with them, choosing to beat him fair and square with bombs. Eric's new power, underwater charge, makes him invincible, so I only show it after the playthrough. Then I show the first-level set of extra powers, which are most certainly game-breaking, then I show deaths, extra screens and extra lines of dialogue. -

Seeing longplays like this make me want to go back to a simpler time when the only battle we cared about was Sega vs Nintendo.
This is some of the most creative puzzle solving i've played in a game. I love it!
Back in the day where games had you think and figure things out, I mean I was still a child when this came out lol
Well I mean, they still make you think, depends on the genre
The Lost Vikings, this brings memories and now they are in Heroes of the Storm.
Damn I've never heard of this game I missed out big-time! It's definitely a game I'd like to try out
Really hard to play
I loved the first one, never heard about this one
I loved watching the options screen
I didn't know there was a second one. I loved the first one.
It’s neat seeing how games of this time can look alike. I instantly got Jazz Jackrabbit (1994) and Sonic The Hedgehog vibes the moment you entered level 1.
i'm glad that i played both 1 & 2
I've only played the first one but it's been on my mind lately. Funny that its sequel would have a longplay posted around 5 days after I was reminded of it.
I never knew there was a lost Vikings two I played the first one, and loved it
This great sequel has just been added to the Blizzard Arcade Collection at no extra cost!
I wish this had got a MD release. Weird that system being left out.
By that point the MD was all but dead, Sega clearly focused on the Saturn.
@@Bloodreign1 Well the SNES was almost as well but it got released on there. 🤔
@@pferreira1983 Interplay dropped the Genesis in early 95' (deservedly so for the 32x nonsense) LV 2 came out 2 years later.
Interplay withdrew from the 32x so quickly that Blackthorne (originally slated for Genesis then moved to 32x 😑) only got released because Sega ended up publishing it.
LV 2 ended up on Saturn and sold worse then a hypothetical Genesis version would have, even in 1997.
@@supersexysega PAL never even got Blackthorne. 😢
WOW this game is HILARIOUS!! lmao at the dialogue hahahaha
I like the extras you recorded after the ending
The second part of The Lost Vikings on SNES is better played than the first part! Music chip tour is simple, graphics squeeze to the maximum of 16 bit SNES console! I like the SNES version more than Playstation, Sega Saturn and Windows 95 version!
better than the 32 bit versions??
@@Video-Games-Are-Fun It's my personal opinion!
@@Video-Games-Are-Fun The 32 bits versions have these cool claymation in-game-graphics, but also insufferable voice acting (the dragon's tone is so much blander than I imagined when playing the SNES Version) and ugly pre rendered cutscenes as game of that era demanded. Personally, I'll stick to the 16 bit version, my only gripe being that it doesn't take any leaps in artistic design.
Anyways, I also enjoyed the first game a lot more than the second one
classic. the expanded roster was a nice addition. Still slightly prefer the first one though.
Blizzard's best title before they got overwatch!
omg after all these years I just realized that the "Oiramrepus" Mushroom is SUPER MARIO spelt backwards.
Thanks to you guys im now know of lennus 2 I play paladin quest and lennus 2 is the second part i have no idea Thanks!!!
2:26:31 did something ever come out from this quote? Bonus levels or a game about Scorch and Fang?
Such a shame that they didn't add this to the Arcade Collection bundle. A missed opportunity.
Esse jogo é top
Love this game
2 dislikes from people without spirit.
WOW before it became mainstream
I wanna play this game😢
ok semi issue on pc the level h3ll well that one is different
the enemy comes over to the side were erik jumps into the wall and no wall for him to jump into i am worried about the rest of this game play now but i been able to work out most levels on my own with seeing the blocks on the other side in my version it worries me a bit
in the pc game you cant trap the enemy like that with olaf and getting down there because of the up arrows a lot harder
Does anyone know where I can download this please?
Huss! Huss! Huss!
the pc version gives out no food so you pretty much get donked i want to get the snes version it looks doable
