Ali's punches are trademark feather light. They can cut & slice opponents but certainly not powerful to knock out. @@terrymayo8554 Not sure how to answer that one. All 3 of these fights were close controversial decisions. Ali had Frazier in the hospital for a month after the 1st fight and stopped him in the 3rd fight. Norton's style with the cross guard and jabbing from the hip gave Ali fits
Ali back to his 1960's weight and conditioning. Maybe was a little underweight here though. Ali exhausted at the end, IMO needed to be about 5 lbs heavier to have more energy to burn in the mid to late rounds
@@brucescott4261 well yeah not underweight but maybe a little light for his age at 31. 212 was great in the 60's but Ali naturally got bigger as he got older in boxing. 212 was about his weight against Liston nearly 10 years earlier. Light isn't always right. 217-220 would've been perfect for Ali in this fight
Norton won their 1st and last bouts. This was their best fight with Ali anxious for a shot at Foreman. In retrospect a memorable contest where each had his moments. This one Ali won.
I always liked Ali when he was younger. This fight I saw Norton winning all the way. Broadcasters biased towards Ali. Norton more aggressive and landed more harder punches not called by broadcasters. Ali constantly running away, holding and putting glove around Nortons neck pulling him down then pushes away every time Norton corners him. Ali always holds and holds necks. Judges should prevent that and deduct points. Bad split decision call and Victory for Ali. Norton won this fight!
Ali wasn't convinced that he won and the fight was very hard for him. Bundini was annoying him a bit getting too close, Ali wanted room to breathe. I think Ali was just a bit agitated overall so he shoved Bundini twice, then threw a punch at him. Surprised me as well, I remember that from way back then. That fight was 49 years ago, doesn't seem possible.
Mr Futch still in Ken's corner which would change a bit after once brought in to become chief cornerman for Joe Frazier, post Yank Durham's untimely death. If nothing else, Ken actually matured further as demonstrated vs Quarry, Ali III and Jimmy Young bouts.

Damn close fight but you gotta beat beat the champ.
Ken Norton was amazing but Ali Held On..❤
Ali's punches were crispier, sharper when they landed and were more effective.
@@aarondigby5054 yep
Ali was and is the greatest
ali was beginning to loss momentum even though he was a great fighter of all times, but i was so wishing he could knock the hell out of ken norton
Norton's style was pretty much Ali's kryptonite.
No my friend there is no hell in Ken Norton hell is in the center of the earth and Jesus Christ made Hell For The Devil in his angels and you too my friend will get first-hand experienced if you don't repent of your sin and receive the king of kings and Lord of lords is your own personal savior Jesus Christ Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life no man coming to the father but by me for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life serves what must I do to be saved believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved for the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation

What a fight🥊🥊
Ali new he had stay on his toes in this 2nd fight. Norton jab was just as good as as Ali's Norton was a very good boxer against Ali the best Ali had seen
Norton actually won all 3 fights, regardless of all the Ali fanboy slop
Prove it😂😂 Norton was just always close to beat Ali in last 2 fights and almost got beaten in the First fight🤣
Ali's punches are trademark feather light. They can cut & slice opponents but certainly not powerful to knock out. On the contrary, Norton packs power in his punches & his upper cuts & round house hooks can be dangerous.
Even with his exhibition type punches, Ali could have ended the fight in round 6. To the disappointment of we his fans, Ali trailed off into siesta in the heat of battle. Of the 2 great athletes, Kenny Norton is the better finisher & businessman. Ali is the ultimate entertainer
The one fighter that gave Ali fits.
I had it 6-5-1 Ali…
Unfortunately you don't know who Joe Frazier was
@@terrymayo8554No sirr. It was Norton. Some people thought Norton won all 3 fights with Ali. Frazier didn't give Ali trouble like this
@@mongoslade277 and everyone thought the word was flat also
@@terrymayo8554 Not sure how to answer that one. All 3 of these fights were close controversial decisions. Ali had Frazier in the hospital for a month after the 1st fight and stopped him in the 3rd fight. Norton's style with the cross guard and jabbing from the hip gave Ali fits
If anyone has doubts watch this without volume you'll get your answer

This fight was taking place almost fifty years ago
Ali back to his 1960's weight and conditioning. Maybe was a little underweight here though. Ali exhausted at the end, IMO needed to be about 5 lbs heavier to have more energy to burn in the mid to late rounds
You too ...Ali wasn't underweight.
Check out the weigh in that they both did together on The Johnny Carson show
@@brucescott4261 well yeah not underweight but maybe a little light for his age at 31. 212 was great in the 60's but Ali naturally got bigger as he got older in boxing. 212 was about his weight against Liston nearly 10 years earlier. Light isn't always right. 217-220 would've been perfect for Ali in this fight
Psychologically it could have helped Ali, it showed Norton he had trained hard.
I love you Muhammad Ali🖤🥊
great fight, muhammed Ali the GOAT
Immediately after the fight Ali punch one of his entourage🥊
That 1st round was classic prime Ali movements
Они оба величайшие!
RIP OUR GOD ON EARTH. ALI.

The boss to professional boxing !!!.
Who was that guy that Muhammad Ali punched in his corner at the end of the fight
Binding brown Ali's corner man for all of Ali's career
Bundini Brown Ali's cornerman
Ali's long time cornerman Bundini Brown "Rumble young man Rumble eeeeh,"
His everyday trainer. Bundini Brown. Jamie Foxx played him in the movie. Even Ali thought he lost this fight
Mohammaali is the legend big name in boxing he teach me hoñest brave nattionality😊😅😮😢🎉😂❤good job BB

Look at that ring announcer! Holy crap
Ha! It was 1973, man. You had to be there.
@7:23 why Ali didn't finish ken off right then and there
Norton won their 1st and last bouts. This was their best fight with Ali anxious for a shot at Foreman. In retrospect a memorable contest where each had his moments. This one Ali won.
This fight could have went either way IMO.
He won the third fight also.
Norton won this fight!
obviously you have no idea how rounds are scored.
Norton lost. Ali won this fight man

What was happening with ali and bundini just after the hell?
Ali wasn't convinced that he won and the fight was very hard for him. Bundini was annoying him a bit getting too close, Ali wanted room to breathe. I think Ali was just a bit agitated overall so he shoved Bundini twice, then threw a punch at him. Surprised me as well, I remember that from way back then. That fight was 49 years ago, doesn't seem possible.
How was that a split decision?
Yeah should UD instead of SD
The Great Age of the heavyweights
I will never understand why some fighter's give away a couple rounds feeling their opponent out when a lot times it comes back to haunt them
I felt the Ali/Norton fights were to much like chess matches. Good fights.
@@stevecvino yes at times both fighters were hesitant
@@stevecvino Lot of heavy shots from Norton to call them chess matches lol But i see what you mean ;)
Wow 😮
Ali won hands down!! He was in pre Parkinson stage anyway 🥊

Mr Futch still in Ken's corner which would change a bit after once brought in to become chief cornerman for Joe Frazier, post Yank Durham's untimely death. If nothing else, Ken actually matured further as demonstrated vs Quarry, Ali III and Jimmy Young bouts.
😊
The style combination that Ken Norton suffered an heavy punch given by Muhammad Ali
En mi humilde opinión, la pelea fué un "salomónico empate".
