The R1 button is not the only way to attack, it's just spamming the same way to attack over and over again, it's not hard and doesn't require any kind of skill or tact, it's just hitting the same button until something dies. Spamming is boring to fight and is a pretty cheap tactic, which just ruins the experience for everyone.

Souls community is weird. Glad I just play the game.
Not everyone "ganking" can be expected to be lame, either. Maybe they just like playing with people because it's fun or want help with a dungeon; it's all on the invader for invading a world in the first place. Co-op is fun in this game. Similarly, as an invader, he doesn't need to follow any rules. He's there to kick ass. If he does a lil bow and they fight honorably, cool whatever, but it's fun being a special "badguy" in the other player's world, too. Using enemies against them, pestering them, etc.
It's a game designed to be played any of these ways. Who cares who does what. The only thing that is lame is outside that, annoying hackers or lag monsters. But oh well, luck of the draw. Rage then continue on.

I never said he said that, I was going off what I've read in many comments aka multiple opinions on both sides.
+Daichi Freshfonz That's very true, but in 90% of cases people summon because they're bad and need help with the game. Summoning makes the game more than twice as easy, so people who summon help are generally going to be looked down upon by skilled players because they're taking the easy way out regardless of their reasoning.

I don't care when someone heals during a fight. Sure, it makes me mad sometimes, but it's fair. That's what such things are there for. They're there so the player can use them as he/she sees fit. So people complain because others are using the resources given to them for their use. Wat.

This is why I love Oroboro. I have done literally all of this in my time in Dark Souls. It's not "game/fun ruining," because every time it happened to me, it taught me what NOT to do. I absolutely love trolling the shit out of players, and it's completely viable this late in the game. Hell, I even twinked a little bit(with copious amounts of mercy; some noobs were too new to take pleasure in fighting). I'd love to see him come back to dks1 and do some classic PvP fuckery. :)
Also, I'm disappointed that I never encountered him. I see he favors the PS3 version... and unfortunately, I had the 360 version. If only, because that'd make for a funny invasion.

Is it poor form to kill people while they're fighting npc's, or am I taking pvp too seriously?
It really depends on the kind of PVP you're doing.
Some people prefer to treat PVP like a fighting game, with unspoken rules and preferred locations to duel. They make everything as neutral as possible so that the only real variables are individual choices with build and set-up, as well as player skill.
Then there are people who treat PVP like a free-for-all. They ignore all the unspoken "duelist's rules" and basically just do everything they can to kill the opponent. They're like bandits. These include your gankers, your joke-builds, your shenanigans-users like what was shown in parts of this video, and just people who don't adhere to the unspoken code.
Neither one is "right" or "good". I'm not going to say that "duelists" are better players than the "bandits", but both have their time and place. If you prefer dueling, you're better off hanging around the Undead Burg, as outside the first bonfire is a common dueling arena. You can do whatever the fuck you want if you prefer the free-for-all, but it tends to be very interesting in Darkroot Garden because the Forest Hunter covenant really focuses on this type of PVP.
there's no honor in invasions, same with forest pvp you just have to accept that fact

There's no rules when you're invading and I prefer it that way, but you can't deny that some people prefer honorable duels to bloodthirsty invasions.

if you invade, and there are 3 ppl, they are not ganking. They are ganking only when they summon you. Also, you are calling everybody "chugger" while you always pop a humanity.

I’m totally horrible at PvP, definitely died more times than I’ve won. But I kind of don’t understand why people say that invaders who buff, heal, or hide behind enemies are “playing dirty.” Not every transaction in the game itself is an honorable duel. Enemies heal. Invasions exemplify the savage, out-to-get-you tone of the overall game. Invasions are another way Dark Souls says “fuck you,” especially to people like myself still learning how to play. I’ve learned how to get better just by getting slaughtered in invasions. Everything else other than hacking/cheating, is fair technically, otherwise FromSoft wouldn’t let you do it.
And the last guy in the vid totally exemplified that hosts could play dirty too, which is awesome

Krealition They attack really fast, so they do a ton of damage when you buff them cause the buff's damage doesn't rely on weapon strength and is just a flat increase of damage.

I'm sure you have progressed pretty far by now but if not, might I suggest the best entry level weapon in dark Souls...the black knight sword. you should be able to wield it by this point and it levels extremely well. There's also a damage multiplier for demons and such.
Well I finally got out of there, I'm in the Demon Ruins and i'm trying to fight the Mini-Capra-Demon things guarding that little place, I'm not sure if I should be there or Sen's Fortress.

I did so and I got to the boss finally, I couldn't find the Bonfire so I know I would've been screwed if I died, which I did, because the Iron Golem threw me off the edge

Oroboro i dont mean to insult anyone but by using a build that kills everything with r1 spamming you kinda lost the right to look down on turtles, gankers and pretty much any other thing that is in the game. (not talking about cheating of course)
***** I dont really get your first paragraph to be honest...i agree turtling is boring, but many new players dont know how to counter a spear (im very bad at it), when i use a spear i encounter many people who are just easy to poke to death from a distance. But thats not important i just hear him in videos calling people noobs for doing certain things all the while he uses a build/set up that is reaaaally easy to play. i find it a bit hypocritical.

like i said new players dont know many counters so they turtle. i sometimes wait out the buff too since im not a pro in parrying ( i can land it sometimes) but the lag makes it even harder. hyperbuffing is exactly the same category as turtling in my opinion. i dont say you shouldnt do it, but just live with what sin the game.

The people he's fighting are on NG+, though, i doubt they're completely new players. They should be ready to handle shit like invaders with DMB. Not only that, but tons of them had phantoms. It's not like he stomping completely new guys in the Undead Burg on a high-gear, low-level build.
