Main rapper doesn't have to have most lines thou... They are the best by Kpop standars and YG has a history of keeping them for special occasions... Plus, Jen herself said she likes more soft rap mixed with vocals...
Jennie auditioned for both singing and rapping. Since her trainee days, she's been alternating between an emphasis on singing and an emphasis on rapping. As a trainee she featured on one song as a singer (GD's "Black") and on another song as a rapper (Lee Hi's "Special"). Upon debut, she did major rap parts (she and Lisa each doing one major rap part) in several songs (Boombayah, Whistle, Stay). Then she switched to an emphasis on singing only (PWF, AIIYL). Then she switched back to doing major rapping parts (DDDD, SOLO and KTL (she raps with Lisa, plus her opening (with the swans) is arguably more rapping than singing). Most recently, she's emphasized the singing again in HYLT and IC. I have a hard time seeing how she's not getting "proper opportunities".
I would guess to a large degree that her preferences were reflected in Solo, where she does more singing than rapping or a lot of half-rapping/half-singing. She also raps on several B-side tracks (like Forever Young).

Jennie is actually blackpink's main rapper and Lisa is their lead rapper (main rappers generally are supposed to have more rap verses than any other rappers within the group, followed by lead rappers and so on.) However, in all their recent songs, Jennie RARELY gets to rap. I personally prefer Jennie's rapping style more but I also like Lisa's a lot too. It is heartbreaking to see our main rapper not get the chance to shine especially when their new music is the one that is getting the most attention. Lisa deserves to rap, yes, but Jennie needs her chance to shine too :(

In my opinion, Jennie's technique and versatility in rapping is highly unappreciated. Most people think that high energy and popping lively rapping "superior". Jennie doesn't do that. Her tone isn't monotonous like many rappers out there. Her presentation of her raps continuously change and are always different from music video.

Only immatures will say that. I, as a hip-hop fan can say that Jennie is a wayyy better rapper and is clearly the main rapper. Just one listen to their rap verses makes this clear. Lisa is given way easier parts and she uses that swagger tone to add flavour which lets her breathing go easy and lets her excuse the pronunciations a little, while Jennie's rap style is CLOSE to perfect, she doesn't add any artificial flavouring, has INSANE control, delivery, flow and is super clear. Also Lisa's verses are the hyped-up ones but Jennie gets the calmer but badass ones which are pretty hard. Copying her tone and flow is hard. Lisa is a GREAT rapper but Jennie surely is the MAIN.

I never see YG ever talking about those main/lead/sub positions. I never see the Blackpink members EVER talk about those main/lead/sub positions. At the debut ceremony/press conference hosted by YG, when the group was launched and the members were introduced, they did not mention any "main" or "lead" positions.
TBH, I don't even see why YG would need to officially assign "main" and "lead" positions. YG can assign parts in any Blackpink song in any way that YG deems best. YG producers have spent thousands of hours working with the BP members and know their abilities very well. They would not need a list of "main" and "lead" positions for anything.
And there are no parts in BP songs that could be considered "main visual" parts or "main dancer" parts, so any such position assignments would be meaningless.

there are 2 possible reasons for this,it's either YG pushes her more as a lead vocalist or she is the one who decide wether she sings or rap.As we all know YG is home of great rappers so there's no way YG won't give her rap parts.
