Houdini without using VEX? It is possible. Although Mo doesn't enjoy it, he guides you through setting up a simple abstract mocap animation using nothing but built in SOPs. No scripting in this one. Promised.
Of course everything is heavily inspired by Method Studio's seminal 2016 AICP Sponsor Reel: vimeo.com/169599296
For a scene fully set up and lit to render in Octane, have a look at the scene files.

Good video, always well presented! I notice that you put the final render of the project at the beginning of your videos, but I find after watching I always want to see the final rendered result again. I think it would be a good idea to sneak the final render again at the end, before your patreon credits.

I made the VEX version and it's a bit tricky to get the min and max from the curvature but worked as well too! Learned a lot from this.

Attribpromote set to promote to detail with min or max is your friend - a bit awkward but it works. Cheers, Mo

@@Entagma Used this and also used the setdetailattrib with "min" and "max", worked too! Thanks Mo!!!

Is there a way to work with particles and send them to Blender for rendering? A tutorial please :(

Why is it that when I create hair in Houdini 19.5, the hair is not separated one by one? When the animation is played, it is shaped like a block instead of hair.

I am a bit of a newbie, I tried to find the FBX character import node (pressing tab in geo1 as in the tutorial) but the only node that I have is the ROP FBX output. I am using Houdini Apprentice, is that the source of the problem?

I have the same problem v19 Apprentice. No FBX nodes at all.

what hotkey is it for changing values in parameters? looks like you are dragging the number up and down to dial it in? Thanks for all amazing tutorials :)

May you some time end a video making one of your gorgeous renders using UE5 path tracer instead of octane?, u know, a more accesible option for all of us. I recommend u to check out this William Faucher video about Path Tracer to see its potential >>> watch?v=X5zVhc5ahl0
