- They had a lot of fun doing this medley. Shetland Fiddle Diva/Kinyon's Jig/Kinyon's Reel/Lad O'Beirne's
The lighting effects are a bit much during this number.
String Sisters: Mairéad NÍ Mhaonaigh • Emma Härdelin • Liz Knowles • Liz Carroll • Catriona Macdonald • Annbjørg Lien - Hudba
Not to take anything away from the "New Kids", but to see Liz Carroll, Annbjørg Lien, and Mairéad NÍ Mhaonaigh playing on the same stage sends me heart asunder.
I’ve listened to this an untold amount of times over the years!
Same XD
They have become my favorite string group of all times!
Unbelievable talent on this stage😮
This music leaves you wanting more because of the swings and turns at every point.
Beautiful!!
I love this type of music, it makes me want to play and learn this stuff all the more.
I take it there are sheet music transcriptions of these compositions?
Mind blowing stuff lassies, love ye,, please all ye girls having a go at the fiddle call it a day,,, cause it’s an instrument that takes brilliance to master, or get some lessons before ye go on the big stage making a fool of yourselves,,, and torturing our ears,,, 😂😂😂
That was brilliant!
this is slammin
I loved that video, and would love to see them in person! I’ve been wanting to go to the Shetland islands for some time now!
They're playing around 3 hours away from me this weekend at the Dublin Irish Festival in Ohio and I can't go. I usually go to the festival each year but can't this year and I'm so bummed out. Would love to see them too.
Fills me with joy. Love the backing musicians and uber tight arrangement too. I had to get up and start jigging. Trouble is once I'd started I couldn't stop.
My kind of women !
This is great!!
Incredible!
Great light show!
exciting! great!
Great spirit!!
Wow great🎻
Emma Hardelin is a hidden gem.Look at her work in Triakel and Gamarna.
Whit a braw nummer! Ye can aye see hou muckle they'r luvin this muisic.
I found a "Hardanger Fiddle" on Ebay for a very high price. I would love to try one just to see what I can get out of it. Wish I could find one in the state of New Hampshire.
Very good....
Oh my, how I would love to dance to the music of this crew. If only they could be engaged for something like the Flurry Festival (dot org) in Upstate New York. One can dream! :)
👌
Marabilloso comotocan
This is what should play at y Mothers funeral. Her Celtic heritage has been to long overlooked. And funerals are depressing enough.
How long does it take to learn things like this? I see it's all from memory?
ayyye I'm wondering if there were any casualties from the stage light attack
I'd be inclined to try putting the lights on the floor behind them pointing up at the wall
Why no focus on Emma ?
:(
SOAR ALBA
@rulebook
In norwegian we say "gult er kult" "yellow is cool" ;D
Hell yeah... I rarely post on YT but after viewing this and recovering from a near epileptic fit I wanted to see what others had to say and low and behold,, yours was the first comment. These gals represent to me the feminine 'justice league' of sorts, of fiddling females,,, but the messed up,,or should I say,,, meth'd-up lighting manager kinda ruined an otherwise stellar performance.
Needs more fiddles
hahaha
i love the etched one
More cowbell!
Too bad about the lights...overkill....
I'm wondering if the bass player also plays electric bass either fretted or fretless.
sin thu fhèin! an t-aon duine à Dùn Èideann fhèin?!
I just saw this concert on TV and wanted to see a few songs again. The light was very good i thought. Not at all like this. I can understand the comment though
Hyperdramatic superstardom.
I think the preformance of these girls should wipe out all doubt that all of these traditional folk genres has the same origin somewhere back in history. The only thing that's a bit amusing is that Annbjørg Lien plays on a proper Haring fiddle, it has a double set of strings, not very different to a 12 strings gutar really.
Brilliant! Unfortunately, so was the lighting!
Great performance. Lighting raw, crude, distracting, grim.
An absolute stunning performance! Horrible lighting. When you have that much natural talent on the stage all at one time, you don't even need a light show. The music speaks for it self.
