I cannot listen to any of these performances without tears filling my eyes. Why?? All my idols on one stage...
Stunningly beautiful. Thank you.
This is one of the most beautiful tunes ever. I have loved it for some years, and learned to play it on fiddle last week. Brings a tear to the eyes. (not because I played it so badly!!!)
I agree I play it on fiddle and Hardanger and it's a tear jerker!
By the way- it’s easier to play in D! Is this…D? Lol. I don’t have the fiddle with me. On her album “Prisme”, Annbjørg recorded it in E Major. Actually, most of the solo Hardanger albums she’s done are in E, so her fiddle likely has a BEBF# tuning! Very rarely straying from that! I’ve just figured, over the years, it’s easier to play most Norwegian music on a standard fiddle in ADAE. Thus whatever Annbjørg has done in E major I will play in D. And I use the best app ever to change keys-the Amazing slow downer!
Wow. Simply beautiful. These ladies are so talented. I've seen Liz Carroll live and one day I hope to see the rest of them too, especially Annbjorg Lien.
The Joy of It was particularly good. Thanks for all these uploads by the way. Great job.
what an incredible show to see all those amazing fiddlers in once place playing togehter. I've seen almost all of them, but each playing solo- and that was amazing in itself!
Å vad vackert! How beautiful!
I love "The Joy of It". Something tells me it would make a great metal melody...
I love the April child :)
OH, this is a good one.
great tune by catriona macdonald
That B-part of Aprilbarnet is such a tear jerker! Did Annbjørg compose this one or is it trad Norwegian?
Ахуенно.
