Thanks for sharing the video, brother! And how cool to have your cute little kiddo curious enough to want to help you.....enjoy it while it lasts, because by 13, or 14, she'll barely even acknowledge you... Ha! I loved that age with my own kids, and how they were so curious, so full of questions... Pretty cool age to be a part of, to see the world through their eyes, and share that experience. Yup. God bless you and yours, bro!
@@ThrottleGarage hey man quick question, why does it need to be connect from The tail reverse light and also on the the fuse box wouldn’t be one just enough? I’m about to install mine but I don’t know if I just connect the one from the reverse light and the one from the head unit will work ?
@Mario Hernandez I had it connected on the rear only and it didn't have enough power to run it. And the fuse box will give it everything it needs. Have fun
I bought the tailgate version with the camera already in it but I think I like your way better thanks for sharing keep the little one interested in DIYing

Question… So there’s a pink wire on the back of the factory harness kit. Do I not match that one color for color on the aftermarket harness as well? The aftermarket radios pink wire says (Back) for backup camera so I’m confused on if I twist all 3wires together (factory, aftermarket, & camera) to make everything work or just don’t connect both pink wires from both harnesses and just twist the camera wire into the aftermarket’s pink wire???
Is it a good idea if I disconnect my passenger airbag when removing plastic on my 04? I’m just worried on disconnecting it and once I connect it back on it would explode on me lol
I didn't connect to the key. Shows in the video I connected to the power source at the fuse box on pasanger side foot wellif you look down you'll see it

If you are going to add a ford back up camera to a ford head unit, yes, you need to program it. If you install your own unit (radio) you can run any camera (s) as you want without getting program from ford (this apply to any other car brands)

Does the radio come with the mounting bracket that you cut to fit the radio? Or is that separate?
That would be separate.
@@ThrottleGarage do you have a link for it?
So if you go to the radio link it should show you the adapter and plastic to buy as a set.
Where did you find the adapter that is plug and play? I got a metra one and it’s easier to just plug and play

@@ThrottleGarage part way into the video, did you have any issues with dome lights staying on?
No. I had no issues
Did you need an antenna adapter for the radio?
No it plugged into the old one
I can’t screw my stereo to the harness the type of screws are smaller than what’s required
Did you take the bolts out of the tailgate to install the camera?
Yes I did take the inside plate off so u can reach in.
Does it matter where I plug in the wires from the touch screen to the adapter
They should be labeled but 1
This installation took a lot longer then I thought...
didnt show what i needed...i have brown wires when only should on one in wire harness
Only if you have the original factory plug in to the original stereo.
What colour of wire did you use to connect key 2 wire
I didn't connect to the key. Shows in the video I connected to the power source at the fuse box on pasanger side foot wellif you look down you'll see it
I had to trim mine also.

Check your fuse if you cross your wires that can happen
Did your radio factory radio have 2 plugs in the rear of it
