I do not think there is enough appreciation for fantastic instructional videos like this. The timing, the editing, the voice, the stable volume. Thank you sir for making this video. Great Job!
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Does it matter if the wire harness that plug in back of the cd player it’s wire or red or white???
I ask cuz I see his wires is red and mine silver and it didn’t work for me some reason
I installed this no name unit a couple years back but never installed the back up camera. Thanks to you I now know how to get it installed . Great video thank you so much !
This video gave the best explanation, I got an understanding how to installed mine and I did It, only problem I had was finding that (grey) back in wire which I did some research and found out mine was (pink) so whoever reading this can make a note that some models come with that colour
Thank you VERY Much for the PINK WIRE tip. Saves me a lot of time searching> Very grateful!
mine came with orange speaker wires in place of what should have been grey
Yes mine was pink too,can you tell me what you did with your brake and key wire? The brake wire for me is orange and key wire is brown
I’ve probably watched over 600,000 videos in the last couple months I just wanted to comment on your explanation and your tone and your speed which is all probably the best I’ve seen so far how was the comedy this guy must be a teacher
This video is probably the most detailed install video I have seen to date on how to install these radios. The color diagram is different for each style. Nothing is universal except the vehicle aftermarket harnesses. Thank you for your hard work.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback.
@@TheOriginalMechanic hello sir
I am installing a dbl DIN radio in my daughter's 2011 Chev Cruze without OnStar. Trying to locate a wiring harness adaptor for the factory plug to the radio. Not having much luck yet with local parts place and Can tire doesn't show any listing. Do i need an interface kit or can I just splice into factory wires with supplied pigtails..? PS. No wiring diagram came with chinese radio.. shocker. Lol thanks in advance
Thank you so much for this detailed video that included troubleshooting! Especially since I faced the same issue with the quick splice connector | used on my truck's reverse light. After the 16-14 gauge quick splice connector I originally used failed to make a proper connection, I switched to a 22-18 gauge quick splice connector and it worked just as designed. I wish more installation videos included troubleshooting.
For other people attempting to install their own stereos and back up camera: your vehicle's wiring diagram colors may be totally different than the aftermarket connector(s). Google your wiring diagram/connector to cross-reference. My truck's OEM connector had less wires than the aftermarket connector, so I capped the unused wires.
A great job explaining the backup camera wiring. I have a similar unit with minimal instructions. After watching your video I was able to figure mine out, even though the wire colors were somewhat different. Thanks a bunch!
You're very welcome!
You are a life saver. The connection instructions on my unit, doesn't mention the gray wire. I'll try this tomorrow. Thanks so much.
Thanks, I really appreciate someone who actually explains this unit. I got everything but the backup wire. Thanks a bunch👍
I’ve been trying to figure out the backup camera for a good 10 minutes and then decided I’ll see if I can find a video and your video is perfect!
Finally… a practical and straightforward display and explanation!! Thanks so much!! Keep up the good work!!!
Thank you for posting this video. I have one of these radios. Now I know how to get it connected. These radios work pretty good. Just do not last. Eventually they stop working from touch. But they are so cheap. And mine works great with my amp and woofer. Perfect sound.
You sir are a hero! I’m helping my coworker install his radio and I had no idea how to do it. U saved us hours and hours and hours
finally some one who explains how to do it who.s not in a rush
Thank you so much I was able to install mine in my car. Now. Perfectly working.
Lost my wiring harness diagram so glad I found this video again. Also appreciate showing how to hook it up to the battery. Made me realize my new truck needed a special power line ran to work , they want you to run a separate wire to the fuse panel
Thank you for making this walk through/guide video. It will be a huge help when im connecting my unit!
Best regards/ Jimmy
Thanks dude. This really helped me a lot. Of course I used my own diagram but I needed a guide for me not to burn my car.
I just received this stereo. Thank you for the review. Yeah I didn't think that they would still make the same model 3 years later
Balak ko din bumili sir, anong brand po ng stereo?
I just bought this same radio on Amazon for 37 bucks, with two remotes and the back up camera. It's good enough for me and my 2010 Dodge Avenger. Works pretty good, don't know how long it will last but we'll see. Pretty happy with the cheapo, backup camera works and pairs up with my phone. You do have to import your phone book every time but it only takes a few seconds so no biggee for the cheapo.
Wow this is exactly what I needed. My new radio looks exactly like this just a few word differences.
Just a tip for the viewers the wire labeled “a3 key1” that is meant to go to your aftermarket steering wheel control box to allow programming and the use of your factory steering wheel controls, if your vehicle is equipped with such a feature other then that great job and very good explanation in sure this has helped many people
This is actually super helpful because I couldn’t tell if that was maybe a mistake because back in was highlighted A 2
Mine does have steering wheel control. Is that a separate item that I need to buy for my 2009 bmw 328xi

Best video I have seen on the backup camera installation. All the installation was clearly visible. Great job!
Thanks so much! There was zero information online about the backup camera wiring, so I really appreciate the help!
Thanks, I bought one without installations guide. And I¨m glad you found out so early that those blue "current thieves" as we say in Sweden, doesn't work too well.
Funkar din bra? Nyss fått hem min. :)
Excellent. Well-paced, well-edited.
I did simply look up my wire and fit it to this unit. Didnt install the backing camera. I was already with the idea on how to but needed that video to confirm my idea before applying it. Glad you teach it so well. ❤❤
That was clear and concise, my unit just arrived today , after being delivered to wrong address , but it’s here and I searched and you are installing the same unit, I’ll have to put my thinking cap on because I don’t do much auto wiring , but with your help , maybe I might do it , thanks good job well done and keep up the good work!😊
bloody great video .. bloody good little units too !!
I just bought one for my 8th Gen Civic as an upgrade and really appreciate the help you're with wiring it up. Just one thing though I have never wired up anything. So a more step by step detailed oriented video would definitely help get all the ebay double din buyers to your front door! Or in this case subscribed. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Did u need another harness to connect to honda harness
@@phatchet4776 Actually I took it to a friend who's more than capable and he did a great job wiring it up and it works just like factory. Thanks again!
I saw your license plate! I am from Kenosha Wisconsin, that is wher I went to High School, but when I got out of the Military, I moved down to yucky Phoenix AZ.
Thank you this video has been a great help just what I needed.👍👍👍👍
Nice understandable tutorial, i wonder if there is any option to connect to this unit a CAN BUS adapter so we could see some car features on display.
This was perfect, thank you so much
Thanks for the valuable info on the wiring of this radio. I have a 2001 Ford Ranger with a similar radio which came with about four unmatching cables...
Brought mine a few days ago. Thanks for the video.

nice video , greatings from germany!!
You should never under any circumstances wire nut in a car. Wire nuts are designed for line voltage solid core wires in buildings. With stranded wires, you cut strands when you tighten them which is just asking for electrical gremlins down the road. Eventually they vibrate themselves free due to the cut strands or just get a bad connection.
Tap splices are also asking for problems. Vibration can cause the strands to get cut and over time fail/work intermittently.
Butt splice if you want it done quick, just make sure you fold those wires back on each other.
The best way is to lineman splice the wires, solder, then heat shrink. That connection will last forever.
Also, spend 15 bucks and a little bit of time to put those leads in wire loom to prevent shorting.
Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge of professional car audio wiring. In my last career as an industrial electrician, it was standard practice to wire nut 480V stranded wire motors to into stranded 480V factory wiring. We always finished by taping the connection with Scotch 33 electrical tape. The conditions were wet, hot (or cold) and often with vibration. A french fry factory. They held up well. Note in the video that I taped the connections with Scotch 33. No worries.
@@TheOriginalMechanic wire nut is that called ? that crap is forbidden in my country :D
How lucky am I ? That bought the exact one you have here. Thanks a lot. Saved me a bunch of time . And it will work perfectly. It's a gift. Thank you.
Thank you my man! Helped me out big time hooking mine up! 😊
10/10 for this video sir
very informative and super well described
Thanks for the good work
Thanks for this video , someone who actually
explains in detail.👍👍
I appreciate this video! The speaker wiring was straight forward, the rest of them were sort of confusing. I was able to figure out all out eventually but the back up camera was a different story. Now i can install it finally! Thank you!
I have looked for days how to wire this because i had wires left over ( amp, ant, and so on )and i came across yours ,you took you time so i could keep up and i got a radio with back up now you got the best install detailed video on youtube thanks again
Do you know where the power source is from the car to the unit? Not even a quarter way through yet
thank you this helped so much! i bought a very, very similar unit (only difference was the bracket and installation guide) and couldn't get it to work. the harness connector had a brown wire for ignition and the red wire to the harness connector was red, which was also an ignition wire. it didn't work when brown and red were connected, but for some reason, somehow, the red that was for an interior light or something worked and fixed it.
This helped me out. FYI the wire on mine was pink for you guys that dont have grey in your plug.
Thank you! Havent started yet and that was going to bother me
I still cant get mine to work. Just shows a blue screen and says reversing
@@codygrainger4366 Idk man... If it says reversing then it must be getting the power signal back. I would check the yellow av plug on the camera end and make sure the camera itself is getting power
@@fitlobster if i hook it up to the battery it works but if i use the power and ground on my reverse light it want work. Its like the camera isnt getting enough power. But if straight wire the camera itself the leds stay lit up
@@codygrainger4366 maybe try cleaning you a spot and grounding ditectly to the frame or trunkpan if its a car. I'd bet its more than likely a ground issue.
thanks for the video tutorial sir, i hope you'll post a more detailed connection like this... thanks again and more power...
Hey! Thank you so much. It was the only video really helpful for me, and It works that make me so happy.
They have your video on Amazon for another stereo unit. The Yakalla double din stereo
Great video. Thanks. I would just add that many of these have different names, but same exact set up. So some of the wires are colored differently. I would suggest to anyone following this video to install theirs to only pay attention to the terminal designation numbers A1, A2, A3 etc. Which brings me to my biggest question on this unit. The A1 terminal, in my case a pink wire, is labeled "Parking Sensor Control Wires +12v". Which really throws you off considering it's labeled +12v and everywhere you read up on it people say it's a ground from parking brake. So it's a bit disappointing that this video has everything I needed except for that one detail because he never uses the A1 wire. I'll be hooking this up today, and get back with the results. I'll try grounding the pink first before I go and throw any volts at it.my objective is.to ground it constantly so the kids can watch it. Kinda the only reason I got a radio with video player in the first place.
Thanks for clarifying the purpose of this wire. The explanations on the wiring diagrams on these units are disappointing. But I agree with the intent of that parking sensor wire: To prevent the driver from viewing a video while driving. Maybe a portable DVD player for the kids in the backseat would be a better idea.
Nice job B. Looks like you got this one figured out. I was here searching for info on your situation. AKA "You Dig" on Car Audio forum. Good luck.
@@TheOriginalMechanic what if I don't have a rear in on the unit that's a wire but I have pink parking sensor and a brown brake line
Big thanks to this vid. I wired mine by following this.
Because of this video I completed mine though my power wire for camera on my deck was peach in color. Thank you sir
Thank you so much, you help me too much
But I have one question how to connect or install radio? Please can you tell me please 🙏🙏🙏
thx mate , I was wondering wat the red wire next to the yellow rca reverse plug. powers leds on reverse camera!
Very easy to understand, great explanation.
Grazie a te sono finalmente riuscito a fare i collegamenti giusti per commutare automaticamente dalla radio alla camera quando inserisco la retro marcia. GRAZIE ANCORA! BRAVO
thank you for this post it help me out o much I install it f150 and its nice

I had the same problem with my backup camera on my install. Glad I watched this, as it was the same issue. Also have a Saturn.

Great video well explained. Subscribed
Cheers brother, much appreciated.
Had similar head unit installed in my car but quality was really poor. I ended up installing Raspberry PI 4 with OpenAuto Pro software. Great thing in that project was that I could pick hardware that fits my needs regarding sound quality.
My factory harness comes with one extra wire labeled “amp ground” Is it necessary to ground the amp near the radio or can I just tape that wire off?
Good work putting it together, thanks very much.
Wow! This is the best video/instructions on this topic i have seen on uTube so far. I really understood every thing you said on first viewing. Keep up the great job.
Oh god 😂 wire nuts 😂😂😂 this guy is an expert 👌
No, no! Wire nuts are for dry, stationary appIcations such as house wiring inside junction boxes, light fixtures, etc. In automotive applications, the vibration and humidity will cause wire nut and crimp - on connections to corrode and fail over time. The wiring harness connections should ALL be soldered and sealed in heat shrink tubing, if reliability matters at all to you.
Great video.very helpful
Just one question?
How do you wire it up to the driving wheel controller?
this is my question also
Great informative video, I would be interested in seeing updates how unit performs over time
They dont last. Your better off getting a reputable unit.
@@limoboy27- How much time did yours last and what happened to it?
Had mine now for 3 years and it is still going awesome ! We even get -30 temps in the winter and it still kicks ass ! Don't listen to the negative stuff said !
had mine a year no problems. the head unit im not a fan of but for the money you cant beat it
This has helped so much. Well explained also same set up as I have
Are the 4 led's on the camera always on when reversing ? Day and night? I thought those 4 led's were triggered to come on only when it is dark, my come on daytime and nightime when reversing.
I never checked that but it doesn't surprise me that they come on all the time. Leds in this application will likely last beyond the life of the unit.
4:01 its Mario!
Thank you very much I just installed mine.
Thanks the video was a great help! How ever once i turn of my ignition the radio still remains on ..... any advice ? I do not get a adaptor for the make and model of my car .

Just bought one unit like this to my daughter as a birthday gift, i am anxious to get it and install it for her! She wanted Bluetooth to replace oem unit, she will get more with screen mirroring and backup camera! For 15$ on eBay!
How's it working for you? How is the music volume? I hear Chinese stereos don't sound loud at all. Please confirm. Thanks.
Where did you find for $15?

Thanks so much for the video, I got mine to working now! 😃
I just got mine installed. This video was so helpful. I had to watch it like 20 times but that's my fault😅
That's OK. Thanks for watching! and watching. and watching. I get credit for views and make a little more jingle.
Good help! Thank you:)
Do i wire the 2reds that you put together off back up camera to a taillight??or they just connect to each other??or to i have to wire all the way up to power on battery etc??confused
You could also replace the rear camera with a TV box or any video source going into that same video input if you want to use it as an in dash TV monitor. Just install a switch to connect and disconnect the A2 back in wire to switch video mode on and off. Works great in my SWM 7805 head unit installed as a small TV monitor at home. I think all these MP5 car radios are pretty generic so it would work the same way with all Chinese models. However, the parking brake wire disables the auxiliary input so the audio is cut whenever the rear camera is on. Is there a way to enable camera or video without the audio and radio functionality being cut off, say to watch from a TV box connected directly to camera input and audio aux input?
Hello brother, can you tell me how to find the speaker channels? Speaker plus and minus . Kindly reply.
Thanks for the very informative video 👍
Hey Bro I owe you a beer. For 5 days I been watching 6 other videos about the same unit and could not figure out why the camera did not trigger. I had the same problem (9:55) with the splice because the wires are so thin. Thanks man keep up the great work.
I have to fault them for including the wrong splices. But I don't think they even make an automotive style splice for those 22 gauge wires.
@@TheOriginalMechanic Your right again, can't find one🤔

Very good instructional video, it helped me to get the idea on what to do.
I tried this humble radio on my daughter’s Honda Element and didn’t work
Sounded good, but wasn’t standard “double din” and captured every single noise In existence , radio interference, engine noise when accelerating, etc ….I returned !
Thanks for this. Really helpful. I’m having an issue with mine. I’ve got it hooked up the the reverse light and the screen changes into reverse mode when put in reverse but I’m getting no signal on the screen. Any idea why this would be?
The back-up 12V has to get both to the screen and the camera. It sounds like it is getting to the screen, but make sure it reaches the camera. As far as the video from the camera, just make sure the yellow jacks are all still plugged in, from the camera to the long wire and at the cam in on the display unit.
Could you use any metal surface for the power? And what power clamp we should use? Thank you Jordan
Helped a lot. Thanks
Excellent video. The Original Mechanic 2020
Thank you for this tutorial , I was almost giving up but finally finished it
tnx to this video got my reverse cam installed correctly, now it automaticaly switches every time i reverse gear engage
you/re welcome
I had a unit in the car and it didn't work so I bought a single din from a garage sale. I put it in and did all the wiring and it worked great. After talking with my wife we thought I should get one that would allow a backup camera. So I got this one and put it in, wiring and all. I have everything wire up correctly, as far as I can tell. The camera light even comes on when I put it in reverse but nothing comes up on the screen no matter what I do and some of the settings still won't save and are reset every time I start the car or turn it on. So if I turn it on but not start it I can change the setting but once I start the car they reset again. Like time, preset radio stations and eq settings.
Any tips or ideas on how to fix it would be amazing!
