  • Let's have a look at the video game section of the Hard Off located in Oyama, Tochigi! They had quite a bit in stock, but is it retro gaming treasure or just junk? I had a great time filming here and did pickup a few things. Sit back, relax and let's enjoy the Hard Off in Oyama, Tochigi Japan!

    I recognize this video title from somewhere :D
    Anyway, this HARD OFF was loaded with cool stuff. Great deals everywhere, and I'm glad you picked up Top Hunter. Very cool platformer. Got it on the AES!

      Oh man, and here I thought I was being original with the title, haha!
      Top Hunter was definitely my fave pickup at this location. How many AES titles do you own? I’ll have more info concerning the ole AES soon!
      Cheers!

      @@RetroReWire I'm not surprised, to be honest :) We all think in the same way.
      More than I ever thought I could have. I've been very lucky on the AES front. A video of that is coming ;)

    How are the prices compared to buying this stuff on EBay?

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Typically you will find a better deal; however, there can be a few items that match or even exceed eBay prices. Cheers!

      From the prices you were showing it makes sense to pick up some of the consoles on eBay. I've seen some great bundles for Famicom and the Super Famicom. @@RetroReWire

    No such thing as a sealed sfc game. They came in multi boxes and you just pulled out the copies like youre seeing them in this video.

    • @RetroReWire

      Oh wow, thanks for the insight. I wonder if Mega Drive was similar in this regard? Cheers!

      @@RetroReWire I've never seen a carton case for genesis or megadrive. Even in the west I bought loads of USA Nintendo games brand new without seals. My local shops put the empty boxes on shelves and you took it to the counter where they put in the game and manual. So if they were sealed id never have got one. A sealed game is either fake sealed or left in a warehouse for 30 years.

    How do you get things from the showcases? Do you have to ask the staff to open them?

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  Před rokem

      Yes, just ask any staff member. You can use basic Japanese, google translate, or show them a photo of the item in question. Cheers!

      Thanks, that'll be useful to know if I go to Japan next year, because I definitely plan on looking for some games while I'm there.

    So the red price tag usually means the console works?

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  Před rokem +1

      Yes! Red tag means the console works. Green tags are for parts, untested, damaged or missing items. Cheers!
