    I'll believe it when Martin hinself confirms it.

    why doesn’t he literally release a book called 75% of the Winds of Winter and just print what he’s got. it’ll still sell like no one’s business and then when he over does finish it- release the whole thing. that will then sell like crazy too. essentially got double book sales. i’m a genius.

      this is the type of comment that shows you people (those who get mad that it takes so long) have absolutely no idea what being a writer is. the only way to write well is being your own hardest critic. the books stay forever after you're dead. The thought of releasing something that isn't the absolute best you can manage is a nightmare to any writer who cares about what they do. It doesn't matter how long it takes, especially when you've already invested years of work. Imagine if the book failed as hard as the show finale. That would be devastating for him.

      @@NurComments"the book stays long after ur dead" exactly
      Soo just write it instead of procrastination
      Write it at the pace u wrote dance , perhaps even slower due to age and other projects but its been 15 years almostttttttttt, and we know he has completed about 50-70% so just release it in two parts
      Winds of winter 1
      And winds of winter 2
      Release the 1 and continue the 2nd
      Its better than dying and then some company writing it for u( we saw how that went laast time)

      @@spellsword_fn6799if he releases half and half, it will be the same problem Dance had, which is that there were many cliff-hangers. Better to just release it all at once

    They just released this video a year too early. Than it might almost come out. Though "almost" in Martian-Time might be another 14 years. Just like almost in Rothfusian-Time.

    I think George struck lightning with ASOIF. Meaning, he got lucky. He's written tons and none as good as ASOIF. He's probably been realizing over the past 2 decades that he just isn't talented enough to wrap up the hundreds of the plots, threads and stories he's carelessly created, exponentially, as time went on.

    • @Fenix-lr6ez
      @Fenix-lr6ez Před 13 dny +2

      You just can't be lucky with 5 straight books plus the other ASOIAF side projects. He has trouble closing it, sure, but he's not "lucky"
