- A 12-year-old Australian girl saved her pet guinea pig from the jaws of a six-foot long snake by swinging it above her head "like a hammer thrower".
Rosie Whitman discovered the python wrapping itself around her pet, Maxibon, behind a bush in her family’s back garden, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
“I saw the snake wrapping, wrapping and wrapping itself around his neck, so tight,” she later told Australian network 9News in a sit-down interview, while stroking the rescued pet on her lap.
“He was trying to fight it off, so I was like, ‘I have to help him.' So I grabbed the snake and swung it around.”

That's just a normal Saturday afternoon in Australia, Mate!
It probably landed on a deck chair in front of the bemused neighbours, and after sipping a cool glass of beer, it told them the tail of how he landed in their garden.
Plot twist, it was the annoying neighbors pet snake.
Those poodles crack me UP. They wanna help but are utterly clueless.
Poodles, in fact, are one of the most intelligent Breeds after the border Collie and German Shepherd.

Doing what exactly? Swinging a snake with her pet in its mouth? Even when the pet is let go if that, there’s still a chance it dies from the stress or impact if it hits a hard surface. I get her credit for grabbing that snake but that’s as much as she I’d besides screaming which led to the dad being alerted lol. But go on

I am going to be honest here, and I am quite embarrassed saying this myself; I never realized how large Guinea Pigs actually are.
I never owned one, and I only had pictures for a reference, so I guess I just assumed they were the size of hamsters. When I saw this video however I thought, “Is that really a Guinea Pig? Holy crap they’re huge!”

I love how the mother immediately offers to console her daughter with a hug after the snake is gone, but the girl refuses to do so until she can find and console her own pet after the traumatic event. What a wonderful soul.

@@paulsteen7641 Although shiddy & painful, the bite isn’t what kills in constrictor snakes, they need to wrap up to kill their prey, snakes don’t have much bite force in general, they rely on fang sharpness instead of bite force.

@@DancingDeity It's a common small spider, which is deadly. Pure shiny black with a red stripe down its back. They can crawl into small places and nest! They like hollows, which a shoe, or pockets, mimics well.

@@lissakaye610 Snakes do have ears, they’re just internal. Besides, ears are for hearing. The vestibular system is used for balancing/spatial orientation. Snakes would still have a vestibular system even if they did not have ears, thus they would still get dizzy. Thanks for the miscorrection.
