  • Just some weekend fun in Glasshouse Mountains near Brisbane, QLD Australia. Stock vehicle with no lift. Only tyres upgraded to 285/65 R18. However, a lift is recommended for such terrains. It scratched the belly a couple of times but didn't do any damage.

      @@AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition Namasté Magnificent Brother, I Love You.
      We live on a rural block that needs a bit of work, the roads are full of pot holes big enough to swallow a water buffalo, yet the Everest Titanium with its 20" wheels powers through these holes like its nothing.
      Comfort of ride is excellent, it's über quite and has more than enough torque to complete a successful take over. It's a Big Car, make no mistake but if you have a family of 11 like us, being able to comfortably and safely transport our children and special needs boys is an absolute joy.
      With plenty of on-board entertainment, an excellent speaker system with plenty of punchy bass and an epic sunroof for night time gazing, the Journey is always Fun.
      Fuel economy is incredible given the size of the car. We average about 800kms for each refill (Excellent)
      The engine is the 2.0L Bi Turbo.
      For any prospective buyers out there, this car NEW costs almost $80,000.
      We purchased a MY19 for $51,000 with 23,500kms plus the New Car warranty.
      Best Value around for what is an exceptional car.

    Hey mate nice car and nice driving! Love it up there at glasshouse.
    Just had a question about the tyres, we bought a set of 285/70/17s for my wifes everest. Do you think they will have an issues being a pos30 offset but same size tyre with rubbing or is there a fair bit of room in there without the lift?

    • @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition
      @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks mate, I don't think there should be an issue but if you are on Facebook, then join the Ford Everest Club Australia. • @Bgrening
    @Bgrening Před 10 měsíci

    Hey mate love those tyres on the Everest. I wamt the same 285/65/18R you have.
    Quick question: Do they rubber the wheel well at full lock and how much did they throw the speedometer out?

    • @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition
      @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition  Před 10 měsíci

      Hey mate, they don't rub. You just have to push the spare tyre in a bit harder. They have made the speedo accurate. GPS speed of 100 is vehicle speed of 100 as well when cruising. At 110 GPS speed, the vehicle is at 111kmph, but that's only 1km out, so maybe drive at 109 to be on safe side. But I have driven at 110kmph from Brisbane to Perth and haven't got any tickets.

    Hi mate, pretty impressive stuff. I'm looking to change my stock 20inch tyres to your wheel/tyre specs for off road but i still do a lot of highway driving. How does it drive on road? Any noticeable difference? Noise bad? Cheers!

    • @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition
      @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition  Před 3 lety +4

      thanks mate, I have always had 18" wheels so not sure how they'd go when downgraded from 20" to 18", but the drive improved when I changed my stock HT Duelers to Falken Wildkpeak AT3. I felt the vehicle has better braking and control on wet surfaces etc. There is very little road noise that you'd only notice when you try to hear, it is only noticeable between the speed of 60-80 kmph when decelerating or on a slope. But even then it is very fainted so I have no regrets with the upgrade.

    I always wanted to ask you this, ever since I saw your video sometime ago but I always forgot 😂.. what’s the ride height difference between the stock 265/60R18 and 285/65R18?
    After upsizing the tyres have you experienced any issues on or off-road? When the suspension is fully articulated, does it rub? Did it affect your crawl ratio significantly or just very little?

    • @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition
      @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hi there, the height difference is 1 inch. There was no rubbing and 285 is a lot better in handling and ride comfort. It never rubs even with full articulation. The crawl and gear ratio is better with this size of tyre. I think the car should come with this tyre instead of the 265.

    • @AdrianKurian
      @AdrianKurian Před 8 měsíci +1

      Thank you for your reply. I hope trimming is not required for this mod. Btw curious to know what’s the slowest speed and top speed you can go in 4 low 1st gear before and after the tyre upgrade?
      Usually upsizing the tyres may decrease your acceleration depending on the diameter of the new tyre, how’s your experience so far?
      After upsizing the tyre, do you feel there is any disadvantage to it? Or do you feel like it’s the best mod ever!
      Too many questions it may seem but pardon my curiosity.

      2.0L is a lot better than Fortuner. It has more power than Fortuner and has 10 speed gear-box. The cabin is less noisy as well. Economy is a lot better, drive is good because the vehicle is slightly wider than Fortuner. It has electronic power steering where Fortuner just comes with power steering so parking in tight spots is easier in Everest. Some people still like the way Fortuner drivers, so I would suggest you test drive both.

      If you go need to go offroad then definitely the Ford Everest V6 diesel if you need a punchy engine or the 2.0L turbo if you don't feel the need of power. Jeep is for city or touring but not so much for Australian outback or beaches. Having said that, Everest is good for city and touring as well. Everest and ranger are on same platform, so the parts availability is higher, the no. of mechanics worked on these engines is higher.
