Really enjoy watching your videos. I have learned a lot and appreciate your approach! I am not too sure I could do what you do, but it is a credit to your parents that you clearly understand hard work and responsibility.
Nice video, using equipments is innovative haven't seen before in India especially dairy sector eagerly waiting for more videos and information about your dairy industry I love your hard work and dedication.
I am not a farmer and I am not Canadian. I lover your videos, I love learning about farming. It lots of long days and hard works. You also help me practice my Canadian language skill.... wink wink. That’s a shit load of sand. Hehehe get it. My question is over time will that much sand every year won’t that alter the top soils? You make nice videos.
Why are you not using sawdust in the cow beds versus the sand? The sawdust would be a better a better choice for the permaculture in your field better than sand. The facilities, animals and equipment of your farm are impressive! Love your VLOG!
Yun interesting the sand bonds with the manure like glue and when spreading it putting the sand back into the field well if a person could pump down to the sand let it set for a while it would set up like concrete if pump all liquid manure out.
I would agree with "B Nice" the music and drone shots are great. I can understand why your drone flew into the pole, as you were driving and flying at the same time. Nicely done though - great editing.
After the initial 10-15 loads I would suggest to pile up the remaining majority of the manure to let get it drained even more. Would be easier to load.
I thought the same. perhaps a Bulldozer would be quite useful in this task. I am very curious to know how they are going to get around this accumulation of sand in the coming years. maybe build a sump
Thanks for the great videos. Great job. Have you guys through about a separator for the sand or is it not going to work in the cold winter? Does wonders for us.
James Bedell tractor probably wouldn’t have grip pulling it out cos the ramp would be slippy and some of the shit might flow out of the top of the back of the spreader cos he’d be driving up at and angle
New subscriber here. I am 41 and love to watch farming videos. Question is this a new dairy everything looks new ? Or maybe a complete overhaul of the facilities.
lol.....damn you got those angles - drone shots and clips down - such a pro already ......!!!! I`ll start promoting your channel.....on 10th generation dairyman channel......you deserve more subs/viewers.!!!!!
Hi, we milk 300 cows here in Quebec on sand too. We have the same problem we pump the liquids and then scoop out all the solids. This year was the worst the solid was really more a soup it wasnt fun.
Ive a question, when you've got a bit of clean space in the bottom of the lagoon, why don't you reverse the tractor and spreader in? So you don't have to keep reversing out all the time when loading
Did the mixing work for you properly in 2020? Do u know a manure seperating system? You could feed the machine with the wet dirt, bring the solid manure out with your spreader and leave the liquid manure in the pit. This way you would save a lot of fuel with your loader and tractor, since you had less solid manure.
interesting to know that cities deal with this same issue. Only difference being the amount of heavy metals and drugs in the manure (human waste). Makes it impossible to spread in one area year after year.
@@kernowhateful2825 no the traktor and the speader have than alot of manure on the weels and on the road this will fly every and all ist dirty and the road out of the lagune will be slippery and difficult to drive out
The lagoon boats are really expensive. If you want him to have one so bad. Im sure he will give an address to send money to. lots of more expensive ways to do things. I'm sure they got the pit emptied with what they have.
Do you have a manure management plan that you have to go by in Canada? Wouldn't be beneficial to have a pad of cement outside of the ramp then you wouldn't have to fight the mud ? What are the pipes in the pit for ? Depth to know how deep the manure is in the pit ?
Why don't you back the spreader down the ramp so you have less travel with the loader. Plus you're dirt part of the ramp won't get so bad with less travel.
Why not drive the whole tractor and trailer into the lagoon? Tractor too wide? Bad angle for the hitch and spreader? Too heavy to pull out once loaded?
An Excellent vlog due to the great filming & narration. Just curious, are you an employee on a large corporate farm, ? It appears to be too large for a family operated farm. 🚜 🚜 🚜 🚜 🚜
My parents own the farm and I started working for them after I was done with school. We currently employ 3 full time employees the help with the daily jobs like milking and feeding!
Thanks for the Videos. I am searching your videos, hoping find out why you are using sand for bedding. Sand is so hard on all of your gear. I don’t get it.
Michael Clark , in an earlier video he said that they use sand since its inorganic. Apparently it’s better to prevent mastatitus. Plus, they have access to large sandbanks on their property so it’s free.
Great production, I love the no-intro intro, you just get right into it. Great job, very interesting videos
Your drone and angle shots along with music pairing is at another level.
Thumbs up !
Thank you very much!
Never realized the amount of work in dairy farming! ✌🏻🇨🇦

Your channel can’t be beat, the best filmography along with great narration, please stay safe and keep doing what you do. 👁 ❤️👨🌾 you!
Maybe your best video. Footages + soundtrack + drone etc ... brilliant!
You really are becoming very professional at this Sask... I love following your progress. Well done you :)
Great Drone footage Awesome Music !!
You are a very skilled equipment operator!
You have the cutest way of saying manure! It's like "minerrrr" ! What did I tell you, cute! Maybe it's the way all Sask people say it. 😁

Fendt Dieselross thanks!!
Park the speader in front of the pit and drive forward out whit the loader. The bucket stays full and less travel
Nice pit. Great how you have the ramp. I have never seen that
We would've been pretty screwed had we not put that ramp in!
Love seeing other farms 👌🏼
Great life fantastic filming thanks for sharing
Thanks you!
Love how he says 'sand' . adorable
you. do. a. good. job. of. cleaning. the. barn. and. the. yard.
Need a sump in the big pit. Pump sits in sump, lot more liquid taken out.

Good work
Totally awesome 👍👍👍
Thanks!
Nice video love the parlour and yeah you might want to get a crawler lol or rent one as needed
Thanks and yeah i guess we'll have to see next year!
Beautiful, I just love to watch you .
Those movies makes me want to come over again asap
Okay when are you coming!
Looks like you do all the work!! Haha
Yun interesting the sand bonds with the manure like glue and when spreading it putting the sand back into the field well if a person could pump down to the sand let it set for a while it would set up like concrete if pump all liquid manure out.
Yeah we tried that but didn't seem to work for us!
Good Job 👏, you remember me with “Lary”, from Gumball cartoon, he also did everything in the city. 😅
Great job on the drone shots, the music and the overall video! There's a dairy farmer in the UK that has a sand reclaimer. Have you seen that?

greets from Holland
I would add a concrete pad on the ramp so it is easier to keep clean and not mess up more the pit
Que onda compa, saludos cordiales desde Cuernavaca Morelos México.
Thanks for the great videos. Great job. Have you guys through about a separator for the sand or is it not going to work in the cold winter? Does wonders for us.
Why don’t you back the spreader in the pit to keep the mess all in one spot and to save time loading??
Just a thought 💭
James Bedell tractor probably wouldn’t have grip pulling it out cos the ramp would be slippy and some of the shit might flow out of the top of the back of the spreader cos he’d be driving up at and angle
A deployable conveyor belt would be a good thing.
Sand and solids separator? Nice video👍
Not likely, we kinda think if it came out the pipe out the back of the barn it shouldn't go back into the beds!
We started using sand in 1997 in new Jersey and went seperator next year worth every penny
Sweet!!
If I had a smart/good looking grand daughter... I'd be not disappointed at all if she brought this young man home to meet the family
Hahaha thanks 😂😂

If you use pine shavings (the sawdust ones/mini flakes) you won’t have the sand problem. It’s also not as dusty and heavy.
Nice music

Once you got a corner of the pit cleaned out why did you not position the spreader in the pit to save all the up and down trips with the loader?
Great video. Check out the field rows guys too!
Just checked em out! Pretty cool!
Thanks for sharing the stinky part of the milk/ cow business.
spreading solids looks like a shitty situation compared to pumping the liquid manure. bet that sand is really hard on equipment
Yeah I’m sure we’ll start to see some serious wear on all the pump in a few years. Definitely quicker to pump it out than scooping it.
That is a dirty job but someone has to do it. I wish someone could come and spread manure over my land in the cold months and just let it sit.
interesting to know that cities deal with this same issue. Only difference being the amount of heavy metals and drugs in the manure (human waste). Makes it impossible to spread in one area year after year.
What effect does putting the sand on your fields have?
That is one humungous shit pit !!!
Love the vids. Where did you get that sweatshirt would like to get one. Thanks
Sport check!
You need a 52 foot lagoon pump or 2 to get that mixed up
Haha yeah or one of those nuhn boats!
@@saskdutchkid we have had a custom one last year they do a fantastic georges job, definetly worth it but they dont come cheap
Seem to be alot of negatives to using sand what are the positives?
I would have backed that spreader down and had less travel time in the loader.
same less mess as well
@@kernowhateful2825 no the traktor and the speader have than alot of manure on the weels and on the road this will fly every and all ist dirty and the road out of the lagune will be slippery and difficult to drive out
All the same tho he could have trouble getting outta tgstvramo
Shit is so thin it wil run out when hé goes uphill
yeah thats what iwould have done as well, it also cuts down travel time
Hi rye do you not run the spreader in the pit to help down time when loading Graham uk
Can’t drive down that ramp
You cant back in down that ramp? Is it too heavy to pull up when full?
The lagoon boats are really expensive. If you want him to have one so bad. Im sure he will give an address to send money to. lots of more expensive ways to do things. I'm sure they got the pit emptied with what they have.
Yup just gonna keep doing it like this!
Save cleaning up an adding more dirt
Excellent drone work. You got some really great shots. Was someone driving the drone can it be programmed to follow you?
It can follow you but i film it all manually.
@@saskdutchkid How can you drive the drone and drive the loader at the same time? Unless that wasn't you in the loader. ;)
Agitation boat for a lagoon that size
I can spell the manure as I'm watching this.
I wonder if a large auger or conveyor belt set up would make things easier and take less time to load. Less wear on equipment.
🤠👍😁
Have you thought about a sand lane before it goes to that lagoon? I work for a company that designs them and installs them.
we did but didnt go for it
How many cubic feet of manure does that spreader hold. That is way bigger than anything I see around where I live.
andrew peterson up to 600 haha I said it in the video just for you! 😂
You could get ideas for your pit from Andy @ Farm Fixin Frabrication
That's a good idea ill check it out, thanks!
You need a lagoon boat to agitate it
Yes Andy even has a video of the Nuan lagoon crawler he has!
Would it be possible to park your spreader in the pit and load it there so your not having to run up and down the ramp with the loader?
Nope we looked at doing it but it just wouldnt work
Do you have a manure management plan that you have to go by in Canada? Wouldn't be beneficial to have a pad of cement outside of the ramp then you wouldn't have to fight the mud ? What are the pipes in the pit for ? Depth to know how deep the manure is in the pit ?
The pad would cost extra money, Those pipes are to pump the maure into the pit and its 10 feet deep and 175ft by 175ft!
Nothing goes to waste i see
Why don't you back the spreader down the ramp so you have less travel with the loader. Plus you're dirt part of the ramp won't get so bad with less travel.
"If I could make a livin' outta throwin' poo, I'd be a millionaire in a week or two..."

Timelapse would have been great!!!!
What are the cattle in the outdoor pens? Feeders? Dry cows?
heifers feeders and dry cows
Why didn't you drive the spreader down in the pit? And save alt of time, from driving a shorter distance with the loader?
Your pit is so large it’s impossible to keep the sand suspended long enough while you’re agitating to pump it.
Should have took the spreader right down in the pit when you got enough room to turn it around
I think with 50,000 lbs of manure on the cart he might not be able to pull it back up that ram with the tractor he has.
Bob Earl I agree, I have a similar pit and as soon as I have enough room at the bottom of the ramp I back the spreader down

Make your entrance into the pit concrete
Google solid manure spreaders with the vertical beaters on them
How many loads do you haul out and how many days does it take?
